The Chronicle has received an update from the Bin Zayed Group today.
And before we get to that there was further evidence earlier today that a takeover of Newcastle is in plain sight with the Chronicle reported earlier today that another application has been made to take SJH Investments Ltd off the register of St. James’ Park Holdings at Companies House.
This is more housekeeping to get United ready for a takeover.
And now ChronicleLive is just reporting they have received a message from the Bin Zayed Group today – “all good” with the acquisition is what they received and that everything is progressing well.
This coincides with the end of the Eid holiday in Dubai – and it’s very possible the group will issue new updates in the coming week.
The Chronicle again says there is a lot of doubt about the takeover, but what is happening over the last couple of weeks are the things that happen when an acquisition is being executed.
Not sure what more we can say about that other than Mike Ashley has said nothing about what’s happening with the takeover or with Rafa’s new contract.
And once again the absent and silent owner has created more confusion and chaos at Newcastle in yet another transfer window.
This may be the biggest mess he has created in his 12 years at Newcastle – as we pointed out this morning.
Hopefully, we will get more (good) news on the takeover next week.
This mystery takeover by Sheikh Khaled continues to take place in plain sight.
Comments welcome.

Comment #1Martoon #32 before the bus moved on,
I agree with you.
I have said nothing since the Sun’s initial scoop because in the first few days I swung violently between elation and despair. As is the way with these things, it settled down to a more gentle but regular oscillation between hope and disappointment but I still couldn’t find the conviction to post a definite opinion.
I have been very grateful to DubaiMickey for his calming positivity and his lessons in Middle-East royal manoeuvring. Thanks also to Robleenio for his early and continued faith in a successful outcome.
I now believe that the sale will be concluded very soon (hopefully this coming week) and I have a bottle of Glenmorangie on standby.

Comment #9Mag52: Pickford playing for Sunderland never crossed my mind, he fights outside dodgy nihgtclubs, took the p!ss out of toon fans before making yet another blunder, he’s basically a complete wnker.
Anyway I can hate overhyped England if I want, they last won something longer ago than the toon!!! and tey get to pick the cream of England footballers – says it all about the management the F.A choose really.
Oh and England fans …. sadly always have that element of hooligans within their midst , I’d be happy to see them stuck in some arab gulag for life in the next world cup )

Comment #33Interested to know how much these lads will invest in the squad. Even with unlimited funds I think players who’ve been thought the game outside of England are the ones to go for. The game just is thought right on our shores. The climate probably makes us inferior athletes as well.
