Sun Reporter Who Broke Takeover Story – It’s Still Progressing Well

Justin Allen was the Sun reporter who broke the news of Sheikh Khaled bin Zayed al-Nahyan and his Bin Zayed Group having agreed terms of £350M to buy Newcastel from current owner Mike Ashley back on May 26th – 19 days ago.

Everything Allen reported in that piece has been backed up by the Bin Zayed Group by their two statements so in that sense, he has some credibility – at least in being able to talk to Sheikh Khaled and his people.

And in response to a query by a Newcastle fan asking for an update on the takeover, Allan has tweeted the following:

As we’ve said before at this point there are two parallel universes existing – one that denies the takeover will happen and that comes from some leaks from the Newcastle hierarchy reported by the Chronicle.

And on the Bin Zayed Group side of things they seem confident the takeover will happen with things waiting at the moment on the Premier league doing their work.

We hope the latter is the real news.

Comments welcome.

So on the one hand we have a potential takeover which will not only rid us of MA but also catapult us into battle with the top half of the table attracting top name players and boosting the NE. We only have to wait out patiently & positively.

On t’other hand there is no takeover, we are all mugs, Rafa walks end of the month along with all key players including Longstaff going to the failing manchester club. Anger and discontent lead to very little except stomping feet and flaring nostrils whilst MA laughs as we descend towards relegation again. We have to wait out whilst biting our nails and refreshing the blog every 40 secs.

In summary, we have to wait out………….lets get a beer!

Tony, if you’re still on. Where do you normally catch the matches? I’m curious if we may have bumped into each other at one of the Toon bars around here.

On one hand I need a beer to deaden the pain of fake sheikhover.
On the other hand I need a beer because it’s on I tell ya.
    Beer wins either way

    Only 2 possible outcomes really

    1) We are sold, Rafa stays, we invest in players that will take us up a level and upgrade the neglected infrastructure and academy and youth set up.

    2) We aren’t sold, Rafa leaves, a Moyes / Hughes type comes in, best players leave and money not re-invested.

If it’s 2, then after 50 years support I am done……really this time.

I’ve been to AJs many times although wouldn’t call myself a regular. Used to go to the Globe as well since my sister lived down the street made walking there convenient. Small world. You by chance know a Jason? He goes to AJ’s regularly

I know Brian and Jonty as well.

I probably go to about half of our games at AJ Hudsons.

Never any Man U fans in there which is a blessing.

I was looking forward to his recommendations for where to go in Chicago, even though I have lived here for almost 30 years I am sure he could tell me the best spots. Just not the fcking Billy Goat!!! Or Butch McGuires which I was in yesterday for the first time in years.

    Charlie,
That’s the scenario we all hoped would happen until this poxy Sun journalist broke that story and had us all nervous wrecks for the last three weeks. Unfortunately from what the local journos are saying Ashley hasn’t budged much in his stance and I simply don’t think Rafa needs the hassle of working for a bloke like Ashley.

Hi Rafa, 80M to spend plus whatever you bring in from player sales is yours to spend, I will also improve the training facilities and invest in the youth academy…

Oh Rafa, one last thing, the 80M includes, agent fees, signing on fees, bonuses, transfer fee, wages and a SD mug. The training facilities will be getting brand bew bargain bucket Sondico footballs and the youth academy will inherit the ex senior teams kits which cost us a lot of money and I will gake them on holiday to Vegas at the end of the season but that’s not a guarantee.
