Newcastle Could Learn A Lot From Frankfurt Transfers

We had done an article last month about how we thought Newcastle should go for Red Star Belgrade striker Dejan Joveljic.

The comparison to recent Real Madrid signing Luka Jovic was there to be made. Both strikers came from the Red Star academy and were available for nominal fees.

Luka Jovic took a bit of time to develop but has just made a massive move to Real Madrid from Eintracht Frankfurt for €60M. He had just joined Frankfurt permanently this year after they made their loan deal a permanent one for just €5M from Benfica, who must be kicking themselves.

Well, Frankfurt took no time to make the connection and have just purchased Dejan Joveljic for only €4M. We will have to wait to see if this player can develop and become a world class player like Jovic.

Here is the tweet from Frankfurt announcing Joveljic:

These are the types of deals we really hope Newcastle pursue under the Bin Zayed Group. While we obviously hope they also make the necessary first team additions, the Newcastle academy is glaringly lacking.

We would welcome a few additions like Joveljic this summer. While they may not end up becoming Luka Jovic, this is how elite squads are built.

You make a few quality additions to the first team and then you blood a few youngsters. It not only helps with team cohesion but it is fiscally sound as well.

JP: you mustn’t have seen Carragher or either of the Nevilles then. Or Phil Thomson on that Saturday show.

Or Lawro’s predictions where I believe he has never forecast a Liverpool loss. Ever.

We should have beaten Fulham by at least 7, so many misses, but the atmosphere was unreal, better than home games, we didn’t stop singing from warm up until well past full time. Did not have too many beers…..honest 😉

Tony- no what bugs me about the English commentators and pundits is they keep praising the top 4 but especially their love for their true football darling that is Manchester United. Whatever else happens in the league is no way as important as their precious Manchester United! Even the way they say Manchester United irritates me! Newcastle could win a match by 20-0 and they will still talk and go over the match in length of how their beloved Manchester United won 1-0 against Wolves! FFS!!

    Italy 3-1 Spain.

VAR strikes again, the more I see of it the better an idea it seems.

Well done Italy. Spain has a lot of heart and pride when they play at anything (mucho amor propio) and are really sore losers too lol they must be fuming.

I am all for VAR I think it’s been long overdue. But I thought that the idea of ‘ref challenges’ as in tennis where you only have 3 challenges I think per match to confront a decision was going to be implemented in football. (That’s what I would have done anyway) would. Too many stoppages could ruin the flow of a match and would spoil the game.

    JP

To be fair first 20 minutes was all Spain and it looked like only one winner.

Italy have just got better and better, they did have 7 full internationals in their first 11 too.

They are getting very niggly and bad tempered now though ha ha ha

Look at the way the media turned on us because FFS sacked SBR and a minority of fans wanted it too, Chelsea turn on managers who win them European titles and nobody bats an eyelid.

Jail- It’s like the media and pundits have a vendetta against us. It really is bizarre. I dunno what we’ve ever done to deserve such stick.

Chelsea fans are absolutely horrific, Lampard will get time due to the transfer embargo and his outstanding service to them but beyond that if they don’t do the quadruple, win the grand national and land someone’s on Mars the fans will turn.

Droppy- should be interesting with two ex players in OGS and Lampard managing two of the top 4 teams. (Well if you can still call Man Ure a top 4 team that is haha) Who will be sacked first? Place your bets!
