Report – Newcastle Striker Move All But Done

There is a new report in Mundo Deportivo that the Joselu to Alaves transfer is all but done.

The report chronicles the now surplus of strikers available to Alaves with the transfers of Lucas Perez and Ramon Mierez being confirmed recently and it suggests Joselu is soon to follow.

These three additions will join former Manchester City striker John Guidetti and young Bosnian Ermedin Demirovic to battle it out for minutes on the pitch.

The report claims that the acquisition of Joselu will become official in a few days and will be announced shortly thereafter.

The delay apparently is in certain legal deadlines Alaves have to meet before they can get Joselu finalized. There is no mention of what those deadlines are.

So it does appear that the first bit of transfer activity this summer will be Joselu to Alaves for a reported €2M. This is a good deal for both the player and the club as his time was certainly up at Newcastle.

Though we’re not sure how Joselu will find it any easier getting on the pitch with Guidetti and Lucas as competition.

I knew it was all over for him when he missed that pen against Burnley and started punching himself in the head. It was a weird situation, he started off really well with a couple of lucky-ish goals that should have filled him full of confidence, he just seemed to get worse as time went on, it was those chances he missed against Stoke that finally drained his confidence. Personally I think it was those freaky looking lads that invented the Joselu song got in to his head and gave him nightmares, those bug eyes did seem to get wider after that 😮

I find it so weird there is no news about the toon anywhere.
    It just seems so odd.
Interesting situation with lee boywer. New owners on the horizon and he doesnt sign a one year extension.
Interesting looking at all these other teams take over talks to see how long it takes.
    Has huddersfield been sold yet?

Joselu’s move puts paid to the myth that nothing can be done during a period of takeover negotiations

Leah – I’m pretty sure they might have made an exception for joselu !
But transfer window doesn’t open in Europe until 1st July I think so he won’t be able to officially go until then. Hopefully the parasite might have gone by then as well

The dentist fella is the one interviewed in the chronic who Micky knows (of at least). He seems to be saying there is a bit of a twitter meltdown in the Arabic world re the sale being agreed. Whether this all stems from the 2 sources already mentioned on here I don’t know. Twitter can grab hold of one tweet, retweet and all of a sudden everyone is talking about something with very little substance. But I look at these things as adding to the ever growing number of tit bits pointing to the sale being agreed.

Tonight is a full moon, Interestingly though it is a Strawberry moon as it should have a red tinge.

Wonder if if that is a portent of significance to the future of that little piece of Toon real estate and the future of the club?

Good for you Bobby, it’s a very depressing read. I just use it to check on things NUFC related. You need a strong momentum of positivity before reading, otherwise there is a strong possibility of damaging heads and walls.

Bill, cracking game today. Bangladesh played really well to chase down a WC record run chase.

Ouch!! Just seen that injury in the Austria v Serbia game. He’ll be lucky to recover from that within twelve months, that was horrendous. 🙁

Bit of a strange going on at Charlton. Bowyer getting them promoted completely out of the blue – not exactly favourites were they – and they only offer him a one year deal. Not the first time Charlton have shot themselves in the foot though.

I’d love to know who told Manure Sean was available for £25m? Pretty sure it wasn’t Rafa and he’s supposed to have the last word. Why would we sell such a great prospect for that price when if we keep him his value will double at least next season?
