UAE Reporter In Contact With BZG – Takeover Silence Is Key – Deal Not Far Away

The Shields Gazette interviewed Dubai resident and Geordie Peter Redding a day or two ago.

Peter works for Capital Radio out in the United Arab Emirates and provided some much-wanted insight into BZG and Sheikh Khaled.

Redding has been a radio and TV sports presenter, and pundit for more than a decade now.

This is some of the insight Peter Redding gave to the Gazette during the Q and A  interview.

“Sheikh Khaled Bin Zayed Al Nehayan is a well-respected business pioneer of the UAE, of that there is no doubt.”

“A little look at his CV shows how qualified the man is – he is a graduate of Boston University, and he has completed his Ph.D. course work in finance from Michigan State University.”

“He is the chairman and founder of the Bin Zayed Group – established in 1988.”

“Given his wealth you only have to look at the company’s trading and profits.”

“Here in the UAE local business people do not speak of wealth it is known as Haram (forbidden in Islamic law).”

“But it is definitely safe to say he is a serious player.”

“As far as a deal currently – I think the silence is key. And that can definitely be seen as a positive.”

“I have open contact with BZG and, speaking to them, I feel a deal to buy Newcastle United is not far away.”

“Knowing the culture of the UAE and being involved in sport, this is no smokescreen as viewed by many back in the UK.”

“This group are the real deal.”

“I think the BZG group are looking to replicate foreign ownership from the likes of Man City and PSG.”

“While I don’t think that kind of wealth is an option I can see this being huge for Newcastle United.”

That’s very good (and positive) information from Peter Redding.

If we only read what BZG have said things seem (very) positive.

But it’s the club’s leaked information to the Chronicle that has confused things, with Mike Ashley still saying he has yet to receive a formal offer from BZG.

This needs to be sorted out and sooner rather than later.

But we’ve been saying that for nearly four weeks now.

And time marches on.

Comments welcome.

BZG would never lie for the slug, he’s a walking personification of everything they despise. So unless their twitter was hacked (which they would have spoke of ages ago) then things are still exactly as they said they were. Taking longer than we would all like but on the horizon is a bright new dawn

I wouldn’t actively seek hit to hurt him , maybe give him a dead arm or Chinese burn on his ball bag

But I think someone will do something stupid

Hope not , because that won’t go down well

    But it’s a big risk

    Mr Ashley perhaps?

People with narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) are characterised by persistent grandiosity, excessive need for admiration, and a personal disdain and lack of empathy for others. As such, the person with NPD usually displays arrogance and a distorted sense of superiority, and they seek to establish abusive power and control over others. People with NPD typically value themselves over others to the extent that they openly disregard the feelings and wishes of others, and expect to be treated as superior, regardless of their actual status or achievements. Moreover, the person with narcissistic personality disorder usually exhibits a fragile ego (self-concept), intolerance of criticism, and a tendency to belittle others in order to validate their own superiority.

The problem is that we have seen very little from the national papers and the Chronic have written the same story 100 different ways. In the end, that adds nothing at all it just confuses their readers, me included.

I understand it though. They need the clicks and not everybody follows this every day and the regurgitated story is news to these people.

Cleveleysbob: I think VAR helps out Gayle if we keep him. More penalties as he had at least 2 not given for us and more goals because he plays on the shoulder of the last man and was often wrongly called offside. More penalties for the opposition if Lascelles plays as he does hold quite a lot. Not much more than most, but a bit.

I was hoping I would hold him down and it would be you that dished out the ball bag Chinese burn??

Or …We could double team him ?

Ehhh actually that sounds wrong ??

Anyone think that the reason lee Charnley went to the training ground was to challenge Rafa to a game of hungry hippos ?

To be fair I was born in Felling too.

And my name is more like catchy.

Toon22 is repetitive beyond belief but that doesn’t make him any less relevant or mean that he needs to prove he is a ‘proper’ fan.

Apparently Lee Charnley has to ‘tea bag’ Mike Ashley 4 times a day wearing only a trilby hat.

5 times at the weekend ,

Rumour has it , Lee refused yesterday ?

I reckon Rafa will have been given a transfer budget by BZG and will have his targets lined up ready to go as soon as the deal is done.

BZG will surely want some type of marquee signing to show their commitment and ambitions and get us fans buzzing.

I wonder who it might be?

    Tony B,

Our own Alan Shearer made some seriously bad tackles as well.

One of his tricks was to come in at just the right time as a player was clearing the ball so that the player ended up kicking Shearers studs on the follow through.

I seem to remember one of these was a leg breaker and Shearer said he wouldn’t play for England again if he was punished retrospectively. He got away with it, and was very, very fortunate.
