Fans – Ashley To Blame – He Must Be Forced Out Of Newcastle

Here are some comments from Newcastle fans with the disastrous news that Mike Ashley has the gall to allow Rafa Benitez to leave the club.

Maybe the best manager we ever had given the restrictions in which he had to manage the club.

There’s mow way now that Mike Ashley can remain as owner and we think the takeover of the club could all be a ruse.

What a disastrous state the owner has left Newcastle in.

ASHLEY MUST GO.

Rafa we love you and respect your refusal to grovel at the feet of the fat, greedy pig, Ashley!

Whatever happens next at NUFC the majority of the fans will always hold you in the highest regard, with heartfelt gratitude and deepest respect!

    Ashley Out!

Ashley needs to be replaced by a wealthy and respected business person who can maintain his standards.
Philip Green where are you ?

Oh yes, you’re trying to prevent Ashley from acquiring your broken business.

    Anyone else out there ?

We need a statement from BZG even if it just says that the sale process is ongoing.

I will eat humble pie if Rafa goes to China SOON. I never thought there was any chance of that happening in the short term. I always thought he would see how the sale went and then decide.

Hayden and Perez – two players who would possibly have stayed for Rafa have said bye. Doubtful Rafa will resign. Even @geordiedentist has doubts now. Hopeful it happens as losing Rafa depreciates us greatly.

I agree Tony, we definitely need some sort of response from BZG, either directly or indirectly

Guillem Balague – who seem to be a decent guy and knows what hes talking about:

I have the impression that for some unfathomable reason there was not real interest in keeping him – Raf . Including renewal offers with no real reflection on the work done, delayed answers and false promises.

Foreign teams will be knocking his door, but it will be a miss for the PL

That a statement needs to be forthcoming (from BZG). Whether it will or not I don’t know. Let’s see

Actually, this is the point where you’ll see what is really happening with the club.

If the intention is to sell, the fat one can’t simply put a new manager in place because that would mean the new owners would be bound to the covenant of a contract with any new manager. That immediately puts a stopper on purchasing the club (or it would for most potential buyers at least)

Not to mention, last year at the Cardiff game everyone in that ground stood up to the ‘if you hate Ashley’ chant. I know people say there are 52K sheep turn up week in/week out but honestly i think the winds of change are in our favour. He knows it. Why even put out that statement given they want people to renew? My thoughts, he don’t care because he’s off still.

What has changed is that NUFC have made the announcement of Rafa leaving and they have made it early. That suggests that they will be looking for a new manager. I had hoped that Rafa would run his contract down and then re-sign for a new owner, but that looks less likely now.

I believe the interest from BZG is/was genuine but it also looks more likely now that Ashley has moved the goalposts. Just about all of the press were saying that Ashley was sincere about selling so we will see if they were correct on that.

If Fatty scuppers the BZG deal then it will be interesting to see what they have to say.

It is no surprise that Rafa has not signed a new contract, it would have been an even bigger surprise if he had!

I thought yesterday, that Ash-Hole would have waited until next Monday, to release a press statement; regretfully announcing that they “couldn’t get Benitez over the line” or words to that effect.

However, this saga is not over yet…

I don’t have any proof, like the majority of our fellow posters, that this take-over is absolutely genuine, but I find it almost certainly not a constructed fantasy to guarantee Rafa’s departure!

The least we can expect is reaction from BZK, possibly sooner rather than later… HWTL…

So lads and lasses….how are we going to get ourselves out of this mess then?

    A single peaceful protest?

    Boycott Sports Direct?

How about we actually do something newsworthy like not show up to a game? People saying it doesn’t matter – 50,000 people buying tickets and food is in excess of £2million pounds a game. I think he’s more likely to notice that loss rather than the £3-4k from one closed shop from half a day of protests.

Vote with your feet. Even if it’s just one game. Each to their own and all that, but come on, we really need to send a message and this feels like the only way Ashley will ever understand. No match day income, no games picked for TV because Sky don’t want a bad atmosphere on their programme, lost earnings all around.

I now think takeover is dead. So is the club. I’m done until Fat man goes. I stopped buying anything to do with NUFC when Keegan left and I won’t give that man a penny of my money ever.

Absolutely gutted! I get the feeling that Ashley has no intention of selling up now and Rafa knows it and that’s why he has refused to sign a new deal, can’t say i blame him. Never thought a boycott of the games would work but honestly think it’s the only way of getting rid of the parasite now.
Gary Monk or Mikel Arteta are names that are being mentioned, the club will sink as fast as the unwashed did. I really hate the owner for what he’s done to this great club, absolute travesty.
