As we would expect with such a beloved manager as Rafa Benitez, many players have shared their gratitude on Twitter to their now former manager.
Argentinian central defender Federico Fernandez however has gone a little bit further in his support of Rafa Benitez. This what Ferndandez has just tweeted:
Thanks Rafa. I think you and the staff deserve different way to end your time as a Newcastle manager. All the people around Newcastle love you. All the best for the future. pic.twitter.com/BgNffviK62
— Fede Fernandez (@pajarofernandez) June 24, 2019
This about sums up the feeling of the Newcastle fan base and really any football fan with a love of the game. What has happened to Rafa Benitez is just not right. Plain and simple. Rafa and, by extension the game of football, has been wronged by a despicable man.
Fernandez, no doubt, is expressing the sentiments of many players today. Rafa Benitez has been treated like an expendable bit of rubbish by this owner. He did not deserve this.
Who in their right mind would come to this club at the moment-player or manager? The only solution is the end of Mike Ashley’s control of this club. We cannot more forward, or move at all, until he sells this club to never return.

Comment #122Something positive will have to happen this week surely. Even Ashley must see this. Whether it’s quickly bringing in a new manager to get the pre-season started or accelerating the sale if possible. I still don’t understand the takeover process. If the bid has been accepted and submitted to the FA we should be no more than 3 weeks from a final decision. Maybe it really was all bollocks.

Comment #123Unfortunately, come the start of next season, MA will have totally got away with letting Rafa slip away. Fans will pack into SJP and the regime continues..
The potential takeover is a scam.
Gullible fans falling for MA lies.
Boycotts are needed.
Show the world that we care ffs.

Looks like those Craster kipper are on the turn.
Ditch them until we hear otherwise and then order fresh.
In fact if we get to that point I’ll buy some for you and post them down although the postie might not be too happy if it’s a hot day.

So that’s that. “No way back” according to Rafa’s camp. As reported elsewhere today’s statement was a surprise to him. The Spaniards priority was still to remain at #nufc. China move now looking likely. Again, a tremendous job done by @rafabenitezweb
at SJP. Sad end.

Comment #138How you can take a great club with a huge ground and fantastic supporters and turn it into this I have no idea. I would have taken bets that it couldn’t be done. Why hire Rafa in the first place? That’s Ashley’s last and only chance to get a decent manager in. He’s finished as an owner even if he doesn’t realize it.

Comment #139I had a small hope that Rafa would stay on with the new (alleged/potential) owners after July 1st, but the hope for that scenario is gone now. I don’t think they’d have announced him leaving if there was a chance of him signing with any new owner. They would have just kept quiet, right?

Comment #140Bringing in a new manager; who is kidding who here. Any new manager will be detested from day one unless it was KK, and I cannot see him returning. The Rafa flags need to be flying from those attending. Definitely not me.
Stupid me; I was even thinking of applying again if the takeover happened despite the long drive.

Comment #141This feels like the end of Rafa just as much for me as it does everyone else on here. Like i said got told big meeting tomorrow Rafa included despite the announcement he is contracted till 30th of July. Got told we should know something by tomorrow night. What that is i have no idea. Got told something is in the pipeline whatever that may be if anything at all.

Comment #144You mean the 30th of June Mund. Which is this coming Sunday. And an official club statement has been made. Rafa is gone along with this team. That’s it. We now move on to the next disaster.

Comment #145This can’t possibly be the only major announcement this week. Disastrous as it is if we really do lose Rafa (he has no need to sign a new contract if the owners are outgoing), best reaction is to take this with the following announcements (I sincerely hope!)

Comment #150Any protests will have to be better than that turn out tonight , they showed it on look north . It didn’t look as if there was a hundred people. Unless they’re organised properly it becomes embarrassing. The separate groups have to get together and organise these things , or sadly they’ll become the laughing stock ,

Comment #151If a ‘big meeting’ is happening between Ashley (or his people) and Rafa (or his people) then why would they put out a statement that says they tried but he’s off? I know the club owner is an absolute c**t, but that makes no sense, even by his standards.
Tomorrow will come and go without incident.

Comment #153One things for certain toon22 has been right a consistent on Ashley. If nothing happens this week then kiss goodbye to supporting Newcastle, keeping Rafa would have showed if Ashley wants a team who can compete. Obviously he’s only in it for the money but advertising and making money on players is his only game. Us fans need to make the advertisement part untenable, banners, boycotts the lot. The more bad press sports direct get the better
