With Rafa There Was Hope – That’s Gone Completely – And Ashley Still Remains?

We just cannot come to terms with the notion that the immensely unpopular owner Mike Ashley has run the enormously popular Rafa Benitez out of the club.

Rafa is one of the most popular managers Newcastle have ever had – and one of the best ones too.

The onerous Mike Ashley was supposed to be selling the club, so how come he has driven it’s most valuable asset out of Newcastle?

Mike Ashley has shown himself as an owner and a person to be almost the exact opposite of Rafa.

Mike Ashley – his greed and incompetence has ruined Newcastle

Rafa loved the fans, and shared our sky-high ambitions for the club – he understood the fans.

He is a good man.

Ashley has shown none of that in 12 long years, and it proves he has no real ambitions for the club at all.

Relegation may now beckon for the third time under Ashley unless he quickly sells up and gets out of Toon.

He cannot now be greedy and hang on for a super-big fee for the club as he’s done in the past.

After all, he has taken this club down and down for 12 long years.

Rafa had said he wanted to see how much ambition the owner had – well we knew the owner didn’t have any – the fans knew that implicitly.

And Rafa finally faced the facts that he could never be successful with the completely unambitious Ashley as the owner.

He was right there.

The only hope we have now is that Ashley will leave the club quickly – get out of Toon – and spare us even more punishment and pain.

But he’s done the damage now, and some of us old-timers’ hopes of seeing a successful Newcastle team has gone.

Gone forever in our lifetimes.

‘..Sadly if rafas gone, the takeover is dead…’

On the contrary, he’s gone because there is a takeover, possibly.

Will fans finally have the balls to boycott all matches or will the ‘I’ve not missed one match since 1947’ brigade win out. STAY AWAY AND GET ASHLEY OUT!

I don’t think I can add to anything that’s not already been said, but it pales into insignificance after the weekend we’ve had.

On a brighter note, time for a pretty sale celebratory drink.

Oh, what are the odds on Rafa resigning post 1st July.

Some fans are too Toon pissed to miss a game even if Ashley stayed 30 years.
They just moan and do nowt.
They had a full frontal lobotomy many years ago.

Sadly the rule of occam’s razor applies – the most likely explanation is usually the right explanation.

Last week Rafa twice refused to meet the owner. On the weekend, the club (i.e. Lee) thought he’d sign but today Mike has pulled the plug. Check the vocab used in the official release, compare it to Ashley’s previous interviews – “has not and will not” – it’s come direct from the fatman himself. So fatman has done his usual “I don’t care who you are, I’m the one with all the money & power” and told Rafa to sod off. The club is now in complete disarray and although this might be being generous, I think Lee Charnley’s been put in the mire by Ashley’s impetuous arrogance as much as the fans have. There’s no plan b. There’s no shortlist.

Maybe there’s a takeover. Maybe there isn’t. The thought that Rafa left because it somehow helps a sale I think is grasping at straws; mainly because the rumours are the club are going to restructure. It’s all very odd and obscure, particularly the timing, but it mostly just smells like fatty throwing his toys out the pram again and I’d be deeply un-surprised to see an ill-conceived appointment.

It’s impossible to predict, but one outcome could well be that the club will say nothing about it, at all. When pressed they’ll refer to the press release. In a couple of weeks some weird, leftfield appointment will appear, possibly in a restructured look featuring Ashley gang members like Avram or Dennis, and a new era will begin. The takeover will be looked at by NUFC with puzzlement – “what takeover?”. Or glossed over with more Ashlies.

Then the season will start, but this time without thousands and thousands of fans. The word “hiatus” will be the buzzword; temporary pause until Ashley leaves, and crowds will dwindle lower and lower, football will be odd as we’ve got some half-baked set-up that doesn’t make sense to anybody. And, like Ashley’s baffling/stupid investments in failing high street businesses, this will be yet another gamble that doesn’t pay off and we will freefall past the mackems into League One. Mike will eventually be forced to sell for cheap because he’ll be facing bankruptcy.

Maybe what we have to look at here is If Rafa was given free rain and the new owners came in and changed it all it would have cost the new owners seriouse money or there was a clause that Ashley had to pay his wages for 5 years and he is still paying Percy Pardew… This way they can bring there own man in.. Short term manager until they bring someone in ??? A Nolan or Someone ? Lee Clark ??? Those 2 Bleed Black and White.. Yes we want Rafa but Maybe the Deck is Clear for a New owner to bring there own man in and if they want Rafa why not…. Why are the Interested Parties in buying the club not Saying Anything Today ??? Why is Rafa Not Saying Anything to the Fans today ??? Is it the Regeim of Ashley and Charnley wont be signing him but New Owners May ?? If Ashley wanted to Stabb the Fans In The Back well He and Charnley Have Done it.. Never Give up on our Club Guys One Day we will get it Back …

This is is as bad or even worse than the McKeag era absolutely dire.
Gone is any hope that NUFC will achieve anything now and in the future, SJH you have made a huge mistake selling to this arse hole..
