Alan Shearer Follows Sun Articles With Display Of Gratitude To Rafa

Alan Shearer has followed his two articles in the Sun with a personal thanks to Rafa Benitez. He also reiterates his stance, and that of the entire Toon Army, that Rafa Benitez is perfect for Newcastle.

This is what Alan has tweeted earlier today:

Alan will be as shocked as the rest of us with the developments of yesterday and has taken the mantle of being a spokesperson for this club and it’s fans. This is a display of leadership that is befitting of the club’s former captain.

Alan had remained silent until his Sunday night article imploring the club to give the fans an update on the situation with Rafa’s contract.

It was not long after that the silence was broken in what appears to be a spurt of anger by the club’s owner.

Further reports have suggested that Rafa was unaware that this statement was being released. Could he have maybe been waiting on a twelfth-hour negotiation breakthrough?

He may have even just been waiting it out with the hopes of signing but using a delay tactic to signal his dissatisfaction at the progress of the talks.

We may never know the full story of how we have gotten to this point. Maybe there is a sliver of hope that both Ashley and Rafa can still mend this.

Can they still come together for the sake of the club after a few days of realizing what they both will lose?

Or is the more likely scenario that this relationship is beyond repair?

I know it sounds absurd to even think of a last-minute reversal of fortune but the situation the club finds itself in at the moment is also an absurdity.

    I remain positive.

    Bills Son Is Back

Any team in the Prem, bar the top 6, could get relegated next season.

but you have to admit with Rafa leaving the odds have swung firmly in our favor.

other than that i do agree with the point your making

Hibbit: trying to flush Bobbybee out I think he will blow a gasket. PeterK, some are interested and it only happens once every 4 years. Jail for Ashley is going tomorrow.

Agree with a lot of what you’re saying bills son but the big problems that the people running the club have less idea than you or in running s football club so we are more likely to get some no hoper like Mark Hughes as manager.
Think we have had most the hope sucked out us

Lots of my immediate circle of mates are suggesting an organised mass urination on the SD advertising as SJP? I think peeing on SJP is a bit wrong myself, but how about some brown paint in tester pots and a bit or rewording into Sh1t Direct?

G: you will get arrested mate. My brother was arrested for p!ssing in an alley in Newcastle and they used CCTV. If you urinate at SJP it would be funny the lineups with the cops trying to identify you with CCTV of your c@cks.

My friend used to be an environmental protester and he would chain himself up at the top of a tripod and throw the key down to a mate who would collect the keys from the tripod folk and then leave. This was their method for blocking roads. Very effective, as it is very difficult to get them down safely. Don’t know what tactics the police have developed to counteract this, maybe high speed cherry pickers and bolt croppers. That’s for you toon22, for when you and your team go to Shirebrook.

See going off course again. The only thing that anyone of you should be concerned about is what can i do to show the world that mike ashley needs removed from nufc.
Howare man its our one common denominator in life.
Its what brings us all together and is the link between us all.
    Do whats right man.
For those that say you cant do anything dont listen.
    You can make a stand.
    Newcastle needs you .
Instead of slagging each other off lets come up with a discussion on ways we cam resolve this issue.
Optimistic panda is right, do something about it. Turn up to the meetings, message sky, the premier league, the fa. Howare man someone was instantly shot down for saying theyve contacted sky. Atleast theyve tried.
Now what happens if sky get another 52k people asking are they ok with what ashley is doing.
Then the same again to the fa premier league.
As ny mag said last night these things start small until they snowball.
Do whats right ask the questions you want answers too.
Time to take a stand. Enough is enough.

Just be proper dicks. If MA doesnt sell.
Every home game streaker on pitch.
Constant tennis ball throws onto pitch.
Generally just chanting rafa all game.
Wearing aways team top at home games cause thats what weve paid to watch the away team beat us.
Stickers on jd sports or shite direct on sports direct signs.
    Could do endless things.
Some might even get mikey fined.
At the end of the day its the club that pays the fine for fan unrest.
Get points docked early on in season and he might have to spend millions in jan to keep us up.
    Would be quite fun.

That cricket idea in his shops is a good idea.
Go to pets at home buy 10 boxes of crickets.
Trip up in his shop. Drop all boxes.
Few 100 crickets all over the shop.

One of the theories on Twitter is that there are currently two ‘live’ buyers – the BZG and the Kenyon consortium.

The BZG are serious, wealthy, and have had everything in place for a while now – proof of funds, agreement on price, ownership tests etc -. and that the only hold-up is Ashley.

The delay is because he wants to sell to Kenyon and is giving him time to scrape together enough funds to match the BZG bid. He prefers selling to Kenyon, who is a mate, because Kenyon’s financial weakness means he is more likely to agree to concessions that would leave Ashley’s claws sunk deep into the club. BZG, by comparison, have the money Kenyon lacks but want a ‘clean’ deal that ends Ashley’s involvement.

The danger is that BZG will walk away if Ashley continues to treat them with disrespect and stall for much longer. I have no idea if any or all of this is true but it would explain some puzzling aspects of the situation.

If it were true, I’d be happy all day long with a BZG takeover but deeply worried about Ashley’s continued toxic involvement and the scope for improvement if the club goes to Kenyon.

But who knows ? Certainly not me.

    Hibbit,

Going back to your namesake Terry Hibbit’s time…

In The 60’s and 70’s no owners in NUFC’s history showed less ambition than the Westwood’s and McKeag’s.

During a time when 95% of a clubs income came from gate fees, and we had 60,000 crowds, the two families creamed the top and gave us just three of marquee signings ie., Wyn Davies, Jimmy Smith and Supermac, to keep us happy when they could have spent just a little more and genuinely competed for the title.

Granted we won the Fairs Cup in 1969 but we fluked getting in on the one club one city rule after finishing 10th.

The sack the board chants and demonstrations at a home game after going 2-0 down after just 10 minutes put any demo’s against MA in the shade.

The board sold every top player we had from Alan Suddick in my early days of supporting the Toon to Supermac, Alan Kennedy and Terry McDermott. It got so bad we ended up in the old 2nd division in front of 12,000 crowds and without KK we’d have ended up in the Blunderland league.

Nothing in the past 12 years of MA compares to the wretched ownership and lack of ambition under the parasites that were the Westwood’s and McKeag’s..

Agree with that about the Westwood’s and McKeag’s just like Ashley bloodsuckers. I used to work with Joe Harvey’s nephew who said they always kept him 2 players short of wining something.

It is no good going carping or moaning about Ashley there has to be a determined effort to get rid of him altogether
otherwise you will be going through the same spiel over and over again year after year, he owns it yes but you fill it its up to you..
