Newcastle’s Budding Superstar Responds To Transfer Talk

On the eve of Paraguay’s Copa America quarterfinal against Brazil, Miguel Almiron gave an interview last night which beIN Sports journalist Roberto Rojas shared some of on Twitter.

One interesting excerpt was about the supposed interest of Real Madrid in the Paraguayan midfielder.

Below is what Miguel Almiron said about the link:

Almiron’s star has risen over the past few weeks due to his outstanding performances in the Copa America.

There were recent reports that his play had attracted the attention of Real Madrid which has spawned Miguel’s comments above.

It will be interesting to see if this link to Real Madrid intensifies over the summer as Miguel will likely be a bit concerned with Newcastle not retaining Rafa Benitez.

Paraguay will face off against Brazil tonight in the quarterfinals of the Copa America tournament.

can you imagine any other club where you would actively take relegation to get rid of the owner. An owner who actively works against the best interests of his own club and manager and is surrounded with the nastiest bunch of people and suck ups you could think of.

Rotonda, he did blink at Debenhams and he’s trying to launch legal action to recoup his losses. He’s not as immune to loss as you’d think. I can’t really say he’s asset rich, cash poor but his wealth is in stocks and shares and the valuations fluctuate. He takes a punt on some things, like House of Fraser, because the stocks are likely to go up since they can’t go any further down.

NUFC is a different animal though. He’s stripped the club and sold off all the main assets. There’s literally just the club now. He’s borrowed against future Premier League payments too so if we were to go down, that’s bad news. He wont’ have the cash to push the club back up, or at least be guaranteed to do so. Not this time.

We all know he’s a gambler, he likes the casino a bit too much. But the punt he’s taking on the club right now? A good card player knows when to fold and he’s lost two hands like this already. He’d be a fool to try it again.

Midhat said that it was still happening but in a different manner.
If this falls through im done like. Im too emotionally invested into the club, it hurts too much.

He has put these kind of suitors off before so wouldn’t put him past anything really. What stands out to me tho is surely he isn’t so thick to mess this up. It will only get worse for him now if he doesn’t sell, but does he understand that? I’m guessing not or he wouldn’t be in the situation he is. He had a huge selling point in Rafa now he’s gone does that effect the situation better or worse for him?

If he doesn’t sell and we go into the new season with him as our owner and say Bruce for our manager sh1t will hit the fan. The stock of Newcastle United will fall possibly relegation and the value of the club will plummet. I’m hoping he realises this and try’s to push out a sale.

With Bambams & Micky’s news this morning – though it pains me to say it I think I’m going to lose my bet with toon22 – at least the Bobby Robson Charity will benefit!

For those who think that a protest or threats mean Ashley will give up you need think again.
Ashley has proven time and time again he has the skin of a rhino and is happy to take whatever flak comes his way in the pursuit of what he wants.
He’s taken on mp’s, committees, shareholders, the city and numerous others – he’s been slated by them all as a horrible piece of work who cares for nothing but himself
He’ll miss a few games then turn up at away games – he really doesn’t care what the fans do or think , like a few have already mentioned , fan protests barely last long and fan unity even less so even if we get 10000 empty seats against arsenal that number will decline to zero for the next game , he is more than happy to take us for the mugs we are and keep the support the team not the regime kba line rolling along

The slug will sell, it’s just a matter of time. Too much has happend for him not to.

The TV money has peaked, rafa is the reason why the club is worth 350m and no manager will be accepted under the ashlie regime. Pinsent Mason are the guys you send in to get it done. I feel this delaying tactic is excalty that, a delay to cause as much up roar and distraction for the new season ahead.

Ashlie has already proven this week that his bluff can be got at with the Rafa situation, as someone put it, ashlie blinked and set his house on fire. Even ashlie knows that there is no coming back for him.

Ignore the hearsay/media, go by the facts. BZG have made clear intentions they want to buy is and while they are at the table, it’ll happen.

Surely if “the arabs have walked away” as Ashlie’s minion so succinctly put it then a public BZG announcement would be made pretty much instantly??
They would need to make everyone aware the slug has ruined the deal to not lose face

Without a takeover I would imagine Miggy wont be the only one leaving. The way Rafa/Jonas/KK et al have been treated in the past would make it easy for any player to walk away – to FatAsh you are just a commodity to be traded

Got to love those Reds – “Manchester United and Newcastle fans fuming after each being let down by their greedy owners” is the headline

    2 points –
I would love Newcastle to be in Man Us position
When we kick off were arrogant / delusional fans – Man U do it and its fine

I find that statement that the “Arabs have walked away” because of “lack of funds or no proof of funds” difficult to swallow.

I would have thought it would be Ashley has ended the takeover because the Arabs have not shown proof of funds.

We should write an open letter to the Sheikh begging him to give into ashes demands explain how much the club means and how much we will worship him for helping us out and just to spend that little bit extra if needs be. Make it public so the news picks up on it. That wont look good at all for Ashhole.

It probably wont sway a smart business man like the Sheikh to spend more than it’s worth, but if it made it onto the news or papers then it would be very very damaging to ash.
