CBS Sports Writer Tweets About Newcastle Player Exploring Options

Roger Gonzalez is a sports writer who covers the U.S. Men’s National Team, U.S. Women’s National team, and the MLS for CBS Sports.

He tweeted the following earlier today about Newcastle United and U.S. Men’s National team right back DeAndre Yedlin:

Gonzalez is pretty close to the U.S. National Team so he may very well have heard something. We have not, however, been able to find any links with Yedlin to clubs in Europe.

DeAndre Yedlin was brought to Newcastle by Rafa Benitez in the summer of 2016. Even though he was dropped in favor of Javier Manquillo to close this past season, he has been Newcastle’s right back of choice under Benitez over the past three years.

The Newcastle squad to a man (well maybe minus Jack Colback) will likely be reeling with the news of Rafa Benitez’s departure this week.

This decision by Ashley could have a ripple effect throughout the squad. While the loss of Yedlin would not be as devastating as losing Sean Longstaff or even Ayoze Perez, he is still a very good squad player and a popular teammate.

The news of Rafa Benitez’s departure has reverberated around the world as he is an icon and had become the face of Newcastle United.

He was the reason Newcastle were on the television so often outside of Britain. He was a draw because he was a class manager and fun to watch on the sidelines.

Especially after a win when he would remove his glasses and turn to shake everyone’s hand.

One more time for old time’s sake. Even if it hurts.

Mund never mind grumpy pants jail. You always said it was something you’d heard but could be nonsense. I think most of us took it that way too (no offence, it just didn’t add up).

Post what you like fella, we’re all grown ups and can think for ourselves

I’ve said before half the fun of this blog is reading itk stuff. We’re all sensible enough to know 99% of it will turn out to be bollix but I wouldn’t slag of people who pass it on in good faith.

    If you are still about.

The reason I said Big Ron back at Benton was
because he signed a 12 month loan deal on the
8th August 2018 presumably we pay his July salary.

Quite often when a manager leaves and the team
is left rudderless a senior player steps up and can
    provide guidance and leadership.

Do we have such a figure in the current squad?

I don’t trust dentists they always say it won’t hurt.

Even if it’s not physical pain, the wallet suffers.

Fair play to anyone sharing what they heard, we’re all able to make our own minds up. It being on here doesn’t make it fact and arguing amongst ourselves is exactly what the Ash cloud wants.

We don’t need a senior player, we’ve got Redfearn and Shola.

Little Wisey and Lee the tea to buy and sell. We’ll be Champions!

I was prepared for life under Ashley with benitez, or life with the shiek without benitez, but not Ashley without benitez. If we get dyche or Moyes I’m not going to protest, I’ll just give up and quit watching or caring.

The simple fact when Rafa left he took what was left of the club with him
That glimmer he gave us gone

All that’s left is anger, and a growing disinterest in the toon. People are just giving up

So say a whole bunch of players leave and fatty repays himself 124 million based on
    Dubs 12
    Lascelles 15
    Lejuene 10
    Schar 20
    Yedlin 5
    Hayden 15
    Shelvey 12
    Perez 15
    Almiron 25
    Longstaff 25

We’ll still have 50 + 30 million transfer excess in transfer kitty and can play
    Darlow
    manquillo , Clarke, ano, dummett
Atsu , colback, saivet , Ritchie
    Gayle , Muto

    Dream team )

It’s the reality whoever they drag in will face
They are going to be give a random bunch of players and expected to make them play as a team

With player transfers driven solely on profit for MA regardless of the football

I was thinking last night if there’s a reason for
    Ashley’s sometimes inexplicable frugality.
It’s just too easy to say he’s a tightwad.
We know very little of his early business life
I wonder if he came close to going bust early doors
    and it’s left him scarred.

But remember all the profits are MAs and any costs like relegation are the clubs to pay. MA will loan us the money and expect we pay it back

He’s on a winner with us, use us as an advert and exploit us to make money from football
