Almiron Deflects Real Madrid Rumour – Concentrating on Newcastle United.

Miguel Almiron was interviewed by ABCTV Paraguay upon his and his compatriots return from Copa America. Paraguay was eliminated in a heart-wrenching penalty shootout in their quarterfinals against Brazil on Thursday.

Roberto Rojas, a beIN Sports reporter and our go to guy for any Paraguay National Team information, just tweeted out this about Miguel’s interview:

These are excellent words from Miguel Almiron. We especially love his use of the past tense when referencing his focus for the National team.

His declaration “now I’m focused on Newcastle” should be reassuring for Newcastle fans. Miguel will be very disappointed in the way Paraguay was eliminated by South American powerhouse Brazil.

But Paraguay were very much up for the game and gave Brazil all they could handle. It just went down to the fate of a penalty shootout.

Miguel will also be distraught that the man who fought so hard to bring him to Newcastle will not be there to welcome him back on July 4th. However, he will have felt the love and support of the Newcastle fans and we have to believe, or at least hope, that he will return ready to light up the crowd of St James Park.

The more we see and hear from Miguel Almiron the more we respect and admire him. He just comes across as such a genuine and humble individual. Let’s hope we get to see him in the black and whites for years to come.

Aye the reason is that dust is being allowed to settle on the hoo-ha following a bid enquiry that failed at an early stage, Benitez wanted assurances Ashley won’t give, and that a “reasonable” manager willing to accept restraints in return for a good package with health care and company car etc will toe the line while ignorant cloth capped whippet lovers (as Mike sees them) meander blankly through the turnstiles with their donnay socks and tracky bottoms and their club (SD) shop £70 shirt and “We are United” scarf. Chew down on those pies and guzzle down those beers.

This is your entertainment, buy it you peasants! You know you have to!

So if NUFC are in the bottom three, facing relegation yet again, with negotiations dragging on & on, at what point do these notional new owners decide a purchase isn’t worth the risk?

Muz sorry mate u clarified already that HOT means price agreed. In that case maybe its just trying to get Ashley to divest himself of all the other stuff he has got his grubby fingers into?

Surely the position is that Rafa’s contracct wasn’t renewed so technically he is still our manager today and hasn’t been sacked.

Dubaimicky caused me consternation a few weeks ago when he let drop his view that Rafa would be gone even if BZG were taking over ( can’t recall his words or exactly when but a few picked up on it).

As to July 1st being T-day – it doesn’t have to be as haven’t Club indicated that Redfearn will carry on for now but hope to have new manager for China trip. That extends deadline for manager appointment whilst sale may be progressing in background. Nothing to stop him continuing in role for trip as although not ideal will mean no appointment that new owners would have to approve or later get rid of.

It’s as good as other speculation

I think I’m going to have to continue my rationing of the Blog even though desperate for good news ( especially today or tomorrow?) because it’s doing my head in when i catch up as I am frustrated and depresssed enough as it is

I think Ed and Neil should put on a health warning at head of each article 🙂

Munster. The price is agreed in principle and the HoT will provide for price changes depending on what is found during discovery and due diligence. They’ll also need to do the full negotiation and this is where Ashley will start putting in his caveats and clauses regarding the advertising in the ground. But generally speaking the two parties have an understanding on how much they want / need to part with

What’s this ‘no official bid received’ nonsense? That obviously comes from Charnley (C-Dogs cousin, didn’t he say?)

In a private sale -which this is-there isnt ever an ‘official bid’ rather two parties agreeing a price. So I guess Charnley is for once telling the truth. No official bid because that’s not the way it works.

With the best will in the world you need to read articles all the way through. Kenyon is not leading a French consortium. There is a French consortium, A Kenyon consortium and BZG.

A bit like you were saying the price for the cub is £250 M but you failed tor read the bit about the 100 M debt on top.

Posters have been making that point for weeks since Club said BZG statement was accurate ( or some such) but that no bid had been received – it’s got lost in the evergrowing rumours guesses etc which are swamping any positivity.

Blog momentum is now very much in the Fakeover mood whilst I remain as halfglass full guy that it’s stlll possible we will be sold but that Ashley could easily wreck it. Where there’s hope……..

I can’t be bothered to argue with fixed views as there is no joy or point to it.

Rafa was not sacked, his contract will run out today, as it always was going to, he asked for things, never got them ,no negotiation, just a big fat no , so that’s what he has said to the slug, who then leaks to the media that Rafa will not sign the contract offered and there will be no more negotiations.
Whether or not this has been requested by BZG is immaterial, the real issue is that we’re into the last week of Rafas contract and the club have done nothing to keep him (unless BZG were requesting this earlier in the process but surely, if this was the case, why announce(leak) the request now………more at play methinks

Thankfully I have the munster hurling final and hopefully a bit of fishing to get me through another day of waiting and hoping. If rafa is not to return and we get bzg, I think I’d prefer Sergio conceicao or his ilk than mourinho although I have a feeling mourinho is more suited to a nufc than a bigger club like man utd. Wudnt mind a Porto happening to us. There’ll be some atmosphere when limerick tear out onto that pitch today. Come on lads!!

Newcastle MP Chi Onwurah has stepped up calls for an inquiry into the management of Premier League clubs.

She has written to Jeremy Wright, the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport, saying she wants the Government to look into the rules governing information that clubs have to reveal about their finances – and to focus on Newcastle United.

I really fancy England today. They’ve had a lot of stick – most of it deserved – but have been pretty unlucky imo. We’ve been punished for every mistake we’ve made, whereas all the other big teams have been let off the hook big style whenever they’ve been in trouble (e.g. Gulbadin yesterday – seriously dodgy, Brathwaite holing out with an over to spare, Afghans bottling it v India etc.). As things stand NZ could be going through thanks to NR v India…

Anyway good looking pitch, 300+ please. Anyone going to Chester-le-Street?
