Almiron Deflects Real Madrid Rumour – Concentrating on Newcastle United.

Miguel Almiron was interviewed by ABCTV Paraguay upon his and his compatriots return from Copa America. Paraguay was eliminated in a heart-wrenching penalty shootout in their quarterfinals against Brazil on Thursday.

Roberto Rojas, a beIN Sports reporter and our go to guy for any Paraguay National Team information, just tweeted out this about Miguel’s interview:

These are excellent words from Miguel Almiron. We especially love his use of the past tense when referencing his focus for the National team.

His declaration “now I’m focused on Newcastle” should be reassuring for Newcastle fans. Miguel will be very disappointed in the way Paraguay was eliminated by South American powerhouse Brazil.

But Paraguay were very much up for the game and gave Brazil all they could handle. It just went down to the fate of a penalty shootout.

Miguel will also be distraught that the man who fought so hard to bring him to Newcastle will not be there to welcome him back on July 4th. However, he will have felt the love and support of the Newcastle fans and we have to believe, or at least hope, that he will return ready to light up the crowd of St James Park.

The more we see and hear from Miguel Almiron the more we respect and admire him. He just comes across as such a genuine and humble individual. Let’s hope we get to see him in the black and whites for years to come.

Obviously you guys supplied some info earlier this week and this isn’t aimed at you personally but these sources you have, could they be getting fed these lines from bullsh1t bishops camp in the knowledge they’d get passed on on some way? You know what it’s like, spreading like wildfire to try and quell the masses?

    Basically are your sources trustworthy?

If Rafa speaks tomorrow and thanks the fans etc then I think the whole bid thing was just a lie and the fact Rafa wanted training ground improvement ( promised years ago but never saw light if day ), and a bigger say on incomings / outgoings was his undoing

The whole thing about Ashley blaming BZG for Rafa leaving sounds like a non starter for me. Here’s the Mirror quite:

“It became clear the Middle East-based group had their own targets, which included managerial rock-star Jose Mourinho and long-time Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, as we exclusively revealed earlier this month.”

The important bit is the last part – as we exclusively revealed.

Basically they made an assumption or created a story about BZG wanting a different manager, and are now trying to back it up. And in the process they know that a headline like “Ashley blames BZG for Rafa leaving” guarantees clicks, relinks and all that good stuff. It’s pure gutter press at its finest. Or worst.

No one in the media knows anything.

The MP for Chester, Chris Matheson, will present a bill to Parliament tomorrow [Wednesday 26th June 2019] calling for tough and independent regulation of football.

One can imagine Rafa won’t say anything. If he bad mouths employers, new ones will be turned off. Although rafas reputation as a top manager would more than likely outweigh that.

Our club is going one way. And it’s not up. Ashley will use relegation as an excuse for unpaid debts even though he’s been paid his money back at least twice over

    Munster,
Give over with your cries of woe betide me Rafa is gone facade. Only yesterday you were telling us to get over him and couldn’t wait for the normality of being able to offer your fair and balanced critique of the new patsy. What your basically saying that Rafa should deserve the same type of scrutiny that a manager coming in, having had the law laid down to him immediately, cups are off limits, his players picked for him and sold when it suits Mikey rather than the team and that asking about training upgrades will result in a written warning. You’re comparing said manager with a guy who told us we are Newcastke United and fought tooth and nail to put us back on the map and bring some respectability back to the club. You are a first class tool Munster and I hope you enjoy your new found stability and unopposed bashing of the new guy you desperately wanted in.

I do not post a lot here, but allmost everything that has been written about the takover situation since the end of the season is, in MY OPINION pure bull****! Journalists making up their own stories – it is the end of the world like stories. I do not agree. The situation is very unclear at the moment, no real information execpt for Rafa not signing the extinction and the BZG group giving to official statements, which is so much more worth than pure bull**** from journalists who knows nothing. Having said that, the silence from the club is not the way to handle the situation, no respect for the fans. I fear that MA would still be owner, purchase a few talented players and bring in an unproven manager. My hope is, since the last day of Rafas contract is today, there may be some significant progress in the coming week regarding the takeover. Newcastle is in a good financial position, the squad is ok and if you add 4 or 5 class players it will be great, the commercial revenues should increase a lot when you get rid of the crap sports direct agreement. INCREDIBLE fanbase!! It is a mystery to me why the interest to buy Newcastle is not bigger…. Great club, massive potential!!

Hibbit don’t think the match day revenue is what ashLIE bought the club for. NUFC is just a bandwagon for his tat store the more publicity he gets the more he sells, take a £100 pair of trainers at his tat shop how many pairs of them can he sell in 90 mins where as my ticket costs £40 so as long as it’s good publicity the bandwagon keeps rolling…..now bad publicity is a different matter

DubaiMicky posted a link yesterday to a radio interview in Dubai with a guy who seemed totally credible from an NUFC group (can’t remember his/their name) who said he’d seen the heads of terms and that the interest from BZG was totally genuine.

    If that is true, and I believe it is, Rafa going is either because;

BZG don’t want him as manager and got MA to do the dirty work

or, MA doesn’t think the deal will go through, would not accept Rafa’s demands and cut him loose in spite before his contract expired.

Either way, it seems highly unlikely the dream ticket of Rafa being reappointed will happen, unless another buyer come in, and I don’t see that happening any time soon.

I still think this week will be the crucial one – if BZG don’t come up with goods by the weekend it won’t be happening.

Looks like the Mirror have turned which may be an indicator that Ashley’s time is up. They are his “preferred media partner” and have basically parroted what they have been fed by KBA in the past. Now there have been a few negative stories.

I didn’t really know Stan Collymore was such a political animal. I have read some of his columns in the past and he makes his living by being controversial. Like quite a few of the other 2nd tier ex-footballers like Dannys Mills and Murphy and Robbie Savage they have to be outspoken to be noticed.

An alternative option could be that BZG siad to Ashley they are not bothered keeping Rafa.
    Fans get angry at Ashley
This could help BZG with their takeover approach
    Ashley sells NUFC
BZG then hire Rafa back and fans celebrate a double coup
