First Tweet After Rafa’s Statement Highlights Mike Ashley’s NUFC

So Newcastle United have taken the opportunity to follow Rafa Benitez’s heartfelt message to Newcastle United fans with an advertisement for them to purchase the new home shirt.

This is what they have just tweeted out:

This tweet is an absolute disgrace. This club either doesn’t understand the dire predicament they are in or they don’t care.

It underlines what this club is all about under Mike Ashley and that is revenue. They don’t care about the fans one iota.

Whether they are oblivious or this advert was meant as a crass jab at Newcastle supporters, it highlights our current situation.

Newcastle United is run like an offshoot of Sports Direct. That is why Mike Ashley bought the club.

This is Mike Ashley’s statement and it is his only care in this world – Buy my stuff!

see Moyes contract with Manu ends today, I can see what is coming next.

On Rafa. I am sorry to see him gone, big respect to the man for bringing together a Geordie nation.

Any manager who replaces him will have an uphill struggle to win over the fans as they will know from day one he will be a yes man to Ashley and there will be no cup run, again. A relegation fight again, perhaps an actual relegation again, cheap buys again, selling our best players again. No ambition again.

Not confident of any takeover can see us struggling again.

i think the toxicity level being transmitted from within the club may have gone up enough to frighten of a lot of perspective managers especially any with a hint of ambition.

It’s now reached the point where buying any new season merchandise even it’s for the kids seems wrong, plain wrong, very wrong.

Help David Attenborough save the planet – if you’re going to wear the strip wear originals from the past or some alternative not endorsed by Sports Direct or for that matter a betting company or Wonga.

Honestly hope it’s the lowest selling kit in premier league history .

    Bill’s,
I think you’re completely missing the point about a new manager, they may well avoid relegation, that’s what they’ll be tasked with at the worlds 19th richest club, to avoid relegation. We have been in a relegation battle in every year of Ashley reign bar the two Champo seasons and the fifth and tenth place finish by Pardew, and even then Pardew broke the clubs record losing streak when the team downed tools. What Rafa offered was to break that mould and see us competing, the new guy coming in won’t as he won’t be given the job if he expresses an interest in anything other than survival, we’ve had twelve years of evidence to back that up as well.

The Star are saying OGS wants Longstaff within the week and that Man U are willing to up his wages to 75k a week, a multiple of 10 they say. NUFC will offer Sean a new contract I am sure, but will that number from Man U turn his head? And what about McTominay? They seem to play in about the same position.

Who is this Villa player they value at 50 million? Has he ever played in the PL?

Billson, you will now be branded a rafa hater like I was, but the sad obsessives like Jail on here, who think he was the only coach in the world. I was probably the first here to highlight how Rafa’s defensiveness meant what we were woeful at home to Sunderland ( the 1-1) . I didnt like the one up front against awful championship sides ( note where we had the massive comback with Mitro and Gayle in tandem) . I didnt like it when we set up defensively against teams with worse players, like Cardiff. I didnt like it when Jonjo hit the ball at the man city keeper and we retreated back as fast as we could . I didnt give a damn whether the Jails and co didnt like the opinion or not. I was always going to speak my mind. I loved some of Rafa’s stuff and once said that I wanted him here, promoted to a DOF after a few years. Jails reply? That I wanted him shoved in the cupboard upstairs!! This is the level of rubbish you will put up with here if you wish to stick around. You either slit your wrists and die for Rafa or you apparently hate him. I’d have him back tomorrow though, and if BZG want to reunite the club, they should consider it. If they dont come, or ashley doesnt sell, we just have to hope that a good manager emerges. We wont be short of interest.

Tony, yes my use of nonce was more in like with Only Fools and Horses. It wouldnt be used in Ireland in a sexual context or anything like that. If Jail think Im a fool for that, that’s some going, from a myopic ( look it up ) seagull starer.

I wonder how the job interviews will go.
Q “Where do see the club being in 5 years time?”
A “This club should consistently be in the top six or seven. Challenging for major trophies and pushing for the top four. Under my guidance I can see urge club achieving these objectives. I want to tap in to the local talent and build an academy that will develop world class footballers the region can be proud of.”
    “NEXT!”
    Same question to you.
“I think this club needs to live within its means. Avoid relegation, spend as little as possible on new players and deliver a profit for the owner by maximising income by selling our best players for as much as possible. In a good season we may finish 10th.”
    “When can you start.”
