OGC Nice are about to be bought by English billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe and that should be very exciting for all associated with the Ligue 1 club.
That would also include their manager Patrick Vieira who has recently been linked with the open manager position after also being in strong contention in 2015.
Get French Football News have tweeted out the following comments from Patrick Vieira:
Patrick Vieira on departure rumours: “I am at OGC Nice long-term. I have no intention of going elsewhere. I’ve always felt good here & with the people around me. I can’t see myself anywhere other than OGC Nice.”
— Get French Football News (@GFFN) July 1, 2019
It seems that Patrick Vieira will not be leaving Nice for Newcastle. You will be hard pressed to find anyone who could blame him.
Last week after reports surfaced that he would be interested in talking with Newcastle, there was the caveat attached that he would be very concerned about working under Mike Ashley.
This will be a common theme in the manager search. As anyone with an ounce of ambition would not be too excited at the prospect of working under an owner where success on the pitch is an afterthought to selling products.

Comment #1It’s OK for BZG to be waiting for the premier league, but has the fat man actually sent those papers in, or are they stuffed down the back of his couch.

Comment #2Alternative NUFC shirt – Adidas rather than Sh1te from Puma, got mine last year with BENITEZ printed on the back, no money goes to AshLIE or Sh1teDirect. Affilated to NUST and only £15.75 each (£5 extra for letters on the back) for adult shirt – http://www.newcastlefansbrand.co.uk/index.html If we make this the best selling shirt in the PL that will send a statement to Mike and his minions.

Comment #4Munster does not get it.
Rafa approached nufc and they would never have sourced him themselves.
Rafa had to leave because he would not be supported in a sporting structure, thereby defining the zombie state of the club and Ashley’s parasitic business application.
Anyone following in the managers position would by definition be accepting of all the above and thus devoid of interest in us as a sporting institution, and would be a token appointment.
There would be no point in supporting any of this arrangement until it has been changed by Ashley’s removal.
There you go. Simple brain science.
I’ve got this story about how “Brain Science” originated, you’ll laugh ha ha it began when Gordon was about to be relieved at Mafeking….

You cannot be serious!!!
Is this Viera comments news about NUFC?????
What do you expect him to say….
“I cannot wait to get my arse away from Nice and their lousy owners and fans and so, so hope that the rumours linking me with NUFC are true.” ??
HOW MANY managers and players have come out with the same “I’m just concentrating on managing/playing for my club and not thinking about anything else” bollocks only to be off like flash in no time.
Viera snubs NUFC?
What a load of absolute tripe.

Interesting post few threads back – not sure if Wenger and say Gerrard is what we want or even if that combination would be a starter.
Now that Rafa is officially gone and no hint of a return it does look as though we will have to move on sooner but I can’t be bothered to seriously consider any options not least because of the still breathing sale but also because the papers and betting firms no nowt about NUFC which is a closed shop.
I recall being taken by surprised when Pardew suddenly leapt onto SSN screens as new manager having been nowhere on betting horizon in previous days, JFK another one. Having said that McClaren was an open secret for months and Rafa threw his hat into ring without having the decency to tell Press first.
Too much unclear for anyone in Press to have any clue just yet.

Comment #15Whatever happens we will have a new Manager from outside. That may sound like stating the obvious but it is not because it is typical for an interim manager to get a couple of wins and then declare they are the best man for the job – OGS, Craig Shakespeare etc. but that is not Redfearn. He will not want the job. When asked about the Leeds job he had it written into his contract that he could return to his role in the academy if it didn’t work out. And there is no-one else within the club.

Comment #17A “charge” is usually a security appended which has a priority when it comes to we…discharging that security, i.e. a loan. For example, a charge on a mortgage can be applied by a loan secured on your house. They get first dibs on your money if you sell, after the mortgage company that is who are always first.
Maybe they’ve paid off a loan?

Comment #19Billson, the problem with some on here is that they felt that if I, or others, commented negatively on Rafa;s tactics, it meant we hated him, and therefore loved Ashley. Hilarious stuff but gets a bit wearisome when you are batting ( or in my case, hurling ) against the same fools all the time with their little anti Munster club. Thankfully I have a pretty thick skin and my loyalty as a fan has never wavered in over 40 years, so it wasnt going to waver from the poison arrows of some of the foolish members here. I’m sure Man U fans got annoyed with Fergie sometimes and Forest fans did with Cloughie, but no – not allowed by what I termed the Rafa taliban. It was either all or nothing. But that’s more a measure of the intelligence of some on here, than anything else. They’ll love to hear me say this again, but I travelled about 200 miles one saturday to see Rafa and the players with my daughter. I commented afterwards that he had small hands, and an orthopaedic glove. Since then I’ve has to listen to a small band of halfwits saying that i was mocking Rafa for having small hands. Like I said, that’s the mentality of some. Now I must go and write something about wishing Ashley had glaucoma or something, so that I ingratiate myself.

I don’t recall the exact figure and which transfers it consisted off but in the last accounts we were still owed around £30m. I think. Definitely between 20-40. I will try and find the information again. Doesn’t mean it’s expected this season, probably over the next few seasons.
