Report – Newcastle In Link With International Striker Who Does Not Score When He Likes

Team Talk are reporting that Newcastle are among four Premier League clubs interested in Huddersfield Town striker Steve Mounie.

Mounie is currently on international duty with Benin in the African Cup of Nations.

Mounie was a £12m signing for Huddersfield in the summer of 2017 from Ligue 1 club Montpellier. He has thus far failed to set the Premier League alight scoring just 11 goals in 63 appearances over the past two seasons.

This past season, which saw Huddersfield make the drop back to the Championship, Mounie managed just 2 goals.

His last season in France, Mounie was able to score a respectable 15 goals but he just has not been able to replicate any such prowess in the superior level of the Premier League. He currently has two years remaining on his contract.

Steve Mounie– Benin International striker

We have to hope that this cannot be who Newcastle will bring in as Rondon’s replacement. We will need someone of equal quality to the Venezuelan and though Mounie is still young at 24, he really doesn’t inspire much confidence.

The good news is that Huddersfield will be reluctant sellers according to a report in the Examiner. Ashley would likely only sanction a deal if he can get an excellent bargain.

With only Dwight Gayle at the club as a striker right now, Newcastle will need to bring in at least two others to be able to compete this season.

Without a manager and with Lee Charnley running the show, it is hard to believe that Newcastle will be quick in getting any reinforcements in.

The other clubs said to be linked to Mounie are Bournemouth, Crystal Palace, and Watford.

Munster……… If you want to sign up for more of the same , or probably worse, under Ashley then feel free but the majority have had enough. Any new manager will be here to continue the rape and pillaging of our club with Ashley pulling the strings . Who would want to be any part of that? Hmmmmmm.

Jose might just have the proper passion rekindled by the fact he would feel as though he was doing it for sir bobby. He always used to come on to the pitch and look around the ground and then up at the sky

Toon44 you’ll be pleased to know that Captain AmeriMag’s Positivity Club are now offering balloon rides to Cuckoo Land!
The balloons are filled with the hot air spouted by Lee Ryder and the seats are so comfortable they cure the common cold.
Jump in and enjoy the ride, it’s happening

Before anyone decides to renew in the hope something will change needs to think of the Einstein quote “The definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting a different result”

Nothing will change until Fatman is hit by bad advertising and money

The mighty wyn….. I dont agree with that for a microsecond. Jose just wants an easy ride these days then 2-3 years later he will be off to another club to spend millions more.

Its worrying that he was pictured having dinner with the Sheikh a few months ago, if bzg do actually take over. Jose is 100% going to be our next manager unless we keep Rafa in our hearts and thoughts.

    Pressure, pressure, pressure…..

    52k at Arsenal game.
For all the sensible leavers there are replacements. They feed the beast. No hope for the club except relegation and then some. Eventually they will get the message. But its 12 years and counting.

Well if this blog is a sample of what the season ticket sales are doing at the moment the ground will be half empty for the Arsenal game.
Will send out a huge message to a worldwide TV audience that we have simply had enough, Sky/BT normally turn down the crowd volume when fans are chanting Ashley out but they won’t be able to ignore row upon row of empty seats.
