Happy Anniversary To A Class Act – We Love You Jonas!

Jonas Gutierrez joined Newcastle on July 2nd of 2008 from Spanish club Mallorca. And in what has become an annual ritual on his Twitter page, he has issued a tweet commemorating this date.

Jonas Gutierrez is a beloved figure on Tyneside. He played with his heart on his sleeve and in any position which he was asked.

When he arrived under Kevin Keegan, he was known as the one who donned the spider man mask when he scored. By the time he left six years later, he was remembered as the fighter who battled cancer and stood up for justice against an owner who scorned any notion of the word.

In October of 2013, Jonas was diagnosed with testicular cancer and had surgery. He was able to return later that year but had been frozen out of the team. By January 13, 2014, he found himself on loan to Norwich.

A tribunal would later find that Newcastle United had limited his appearances to prevent an automatic clause in his contract from triggering.

He would come back to Newcastle that summer but miss significant time due to treatment for the cancer. However on March 4th, 2015 he made his triumphant return at St James Park against Manchester United.

He would end his Newcastle career on May 24, 2015 with a game that would etch him into Newcastle legend. A game which Newcastle had to get a result in or risk going down if Hull City were able to win against Manchester United. He scored the second goal and also had the assist for Moussa Sissoko’s opener.

And once again even though we’ve watched it over a hundred times. Just to feel the chill of the moment again.

After that, he learned of his release from Newcastle United when John Carver asked Ryan Taylor to hand the phone over to Jonas. Ryan Taylor had just been told of his release as well.

Class matters. Jonas has it. Some do not.

So a pitch invasion will get points deduction and relegation but fatso will sign no players and sell our good 1s as wel as letting our world class manager go, doesnt that point towards relegation anyway, i kno which 1 i support

    Tony
I remember reading that he was offered the position prior to Emry but turned the role down due to a lack of planned investment – significantly higher than what we invest (naturally)but not nearly enough to make a dent in the Top 3.

Our next manager will either be some over the hill ex PL manager or somebody we have never heard of who are desperate for a job.
If the choice is a knacker that we all know about – Toon fans will applaud him and we’ll hear shouts of give him ten games to prove himself – later extended to 20 games.

No point Graffiti on anything in Newcastle town centre, if it’s done over night it’s gone by 6am, if it’s done during the day it lasts 30mins max.

I can confirm this as fact

no idea who would be best manager for toon but arteta may be ok for attacking attractive sides like man city but the players toon have lend more towards a sean dyche but he has a reported £10 million exit clause so cannot see that.

I went to the last magpie group one, didn’t go last night though. Forgot it was on but I’ve worked the last 23 or 24 days off the belt, I’m not in the mood to be doing anything peaceful regarding Ashley.

As it goes theres not much we can do now except put pressure on SD, I’m not a fan of harassing the staff, they’ve it bad enough as it is. Online is fair game though.
