Sun Reporter Tweets Of Newcastle Contact With Roberto Martinez – Fans React

Mike McGrath of the Sun reported that Newcastle will go all out for Roberto Martinez of the Belgium National Team.

His colleague David Coverdale has just tweeted out the following of Newcastle’s contact with Roberto Martinez:

We hope this is accurate as Newcastle need to get a manager in and quickly. The players report back in two days and it looks like both Neil Redfearn and Ben Dawson will take duel roles as caretaker managers.

Here is what Keith Downie with Sky Sports has just tweeted:

While we, of course, would have preferred Rafa Benitez remaining as manager, Newcastle could do a lot worse than Roberto Martinez.

But the reaction among the fans of Newcastle and others have been mixed as to whether this would be a good appointment and also if he would ever decide to take this job which is toxic at the moment.

Negativity seems to be the default stance on here sometimes (or else you’re a WUM/shill/thick).

My default stance is to hope for the best- a takeover in the next few days (today would be perfect…), but plan for the worst- drive Ashley out, starting with a boycott of Arsenal game.

I haven’t commented on any managers linked so far, for the following simple reason.

It’s chuffing irrelevant which no-mark manager we have in place unless and until Ashley gets out of our club!

Just checked out the flight history of that private jet over the last 3 months and it hasn’t been anywhere near Europe in that time.

3 months of flights around the Middle East and Asia, then bang, we’re off to Newcastle.

You don’t think Toxic Ash is going do you Toon 22?
All the Everton & Wigan fans round here have nothing good to say about Martinez sadly.

beermonkey, good question, it seemed to be a consensus on twitter and was being bandied around by at least a couple of journos.

That doesn’t make it right, but it does seem sensible. It would be a big enough figure to put off the 2nd tier of Spanish teams, but not the 2nd tier English ones such as Leicester.

Charlie in the gallowgate. The whole point of boycotting a televised match is everyone can watch it at a bar, thus not having an adverse economic impact. Actually having a positive economic impact.

Robleenio………… Since his first post of the day Nedders became more and more defensive of Mike and hasn’t bothered to reply when asked where he got the info from that BZG were more than likely skint time wasters .
You try and keep an open mind and give people the benefit of the doubt but when it becomes so blatant , especially with all this uncertainty at the club, it’s difficult not to get angry.

So, Charlie in the gallowgate thinks ashley can sell Newcastle’s players and literally put the cash in his back pocket and do what he likes with it….

BUT, he’s still going to attend the Arsenal match. Herein lies our problem folks. The club is fcked, but with people like charlie incapable of grasping reality, it shall continue.

just my opinion but if its true that perez told the club last season he wanted out
i am sure the club would have leaked news of the release clause more so when he was getting all the plaudits

i just find it all odd

@Sheikh-en but not stirred, well no because a) he’s not the president and b) he’s not a high up member. Oh and c) the cost to rent one of their planes (even the royals pay) for just a few people would be senseless.

It first flew from Malaysia this morning stopped at that airport for a couple of hours and then flew to the toon.

I don’t if that is significant or not lol but Malaysia to there is odd right?

Just an aside on the aircraft landed at NUFC. Just because it has come from UAE does not mean it’s carrying a UAE local.

It’s previous flight was on the same day (today) from Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah airport, a large non-commercial airport on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur.

It stayed on the ground at al Bateen in Abu Dhabi (not Dubai, interestingly) for just over an hour before taking off for Newcastle. Just enough time for a refueling and comfort stop, I would think.

I think it’s quite likely that this aircraft is carrying a VIP from Malaysia.

Why would NUFC appoint a manager BEFORE a supposed take over occurs? Also, what would the incoming owners think of Ashley shipping out assets. Surely there must be clauses to prevent this. There again, it could be Ashley conning us AGAIN.
