Deal Said To Be Announced Soon Now Downgraded To Advanced Negotiations

Mundo Deportivo are again reporting on Joselu and his supposed transfer to Alaves. They first reported early last month of a pending £1.7M move to the La Liga club.

Mundo Deportivo later followed up their initial report by stating that the transfer was practically a done deal but was held up by “certain legal deadlines”. These deadlines were not explained but led to some speculation that it might have something to do with the BZG takeover.

If you remember, it was Joselu who alluded to a “new board” in an interview with Radio Marca at the end of May when he said the following:

“I have one year left at Newcastle, I have possibilities to move but it will depend on the new board that will come to the club”,

“The market in the Premier League ends on August 8, so I am attentive to the movements that may occur with me.”

Joselu– advanced negotiations with Alaves

The latest article from Mundo Deportivo says that Alaves are still very keen on Joselu and are currently in advanced negotiations with the forward. This is a far cry from prior reporting which all but confirmed the deal was about to be announced in a few days.

The report mentions that Joselu is also keen to join Alaves and does not want to see out the remaining one year on his contract.

Mundo Deportivo also states that Alaves will be cautious and patient while hoping that Joselu will join the club after the first few weeks of preseason.

We were a bit shocked to see Joselu back at Newcastle this morning as we had expected an announcement of his departure was imminent. That appears not to be the case though it does look likely he will leave this summer.

It was too good to be true that his transfer was being held up by the proposed BZG takeover. We were suddenly stripped of that notion by the shocking transfer of Ayoze Perez to Leicester City which was announced earlier today.

Well, we will continue to wait and see what happens with the Joselu to Alaves deal. The only positive we can see is that at least we don’t only have Dwight Gayle as the only out and out striker for the time being.

Apparently we are on the lookout for an oldish, smallish, slowish CF with Perez leaving us. That should go well!!!

    sing

i dont see it that way
we have gotten rid of last seasons top goal scorers

we must be in the top 3 to get relegated as the team stands now the longer it goes on the less time new owners have to sort it out and more chance of them pulling out
if they are real ( just for u that bit froggy)
6 weeks ish till the start of the season no manager no goals

Aye, a terrible state to be in and no sign of urgency from the Ashley/Charnley brain trust. Of course is there any brain in the brain trust? Has it been surgically removed and transferred to Frankenstein’s monster? I haven’t really seen or heard any comments from Ashley for weeks now. Does he still have a role to play? What is it? Destroy the club before leaving? Destroy the club while leaving? How can any bidder continue to take this process seriously?

AshLIE is not bothered about getting relegated hes so bloody arrogant he thinks we’ll go down and come straight back up with 52000 watching us do it. Hes a business man the relegation situation has already been planned for

G2, you’re assuming the brains existed in the first place.

The amount of sh!t we’ve seen about 5 year plans, every penny, support the manager, new training facilities etc, it’s more like the drains trust than the brains trust.

We can still put what looks a decent side out on paper.

    ………………….Dubravka
    ……Schar…….Lascelles…Lejeune….
    Manquillo…….Longstaff……….Ritchie.
    …………..Shelvey………KiSy.
    …………………..Almiron.
    ………………………Muto.

    Gayle
    Atsu
    Murphy
    Hayden
    Fernandez
    Dummett
    Yedlin
    Darlow

You sell a few, you spend a hundred million over a couple of windows, and you hire a decent manager like Martinez, you’ll finish safely mid table, maybe top ten. Rafa wanted more, but that’s classic Ashley right there. That’s the full extent of his ambitions. I think that’ll probably happen, but that’s your lot, until he goes, and of course that’s best case.

When the takeover talk came out I fell in with the euphoria, I remained positive right up until the Perez news broke, then I thought, right, if this goes through whilst the club says nothing then then the deal is off/never existed… I’m out of the optimistic club… That parasite has me falling out of love with football in general…

Not going to happen Nicky. No Martinez, no 100M to spend. All bollocks as usual. I’ll be surprised if the new manager (if we get one in time) even gets the Perez money to spend. It’s all another pack of lies.

we avoid relegation and they trot out he did such a great job we have given him an 8 year deal

I would listen to talksport most evenings, we don’t even really get much fans on, it’s no coincidence, they obviously fade us out, even 5 live… This is unusual, very very unusual given how big this is to a large region of the nation and no coverage whatsoever… Has Ashley got some sort of gagging order on the media, they don’t even seem to be wanting to know about it, in my opinion they are treating it with disdain, surely that says something?

Ashley isn’t a complete muppet G2. He knows he has to give the punters something. The club has the money, that’s the key, and there is a need, but yeah, they’ll probably f@g it up in the attempt and even if they succeed it’s still punching light for a club our size. It’s still a piss take.

Yes, it says the media have no inside info Lascelles and are lost as to what to say. Every now and then one of them makes something up and it gets outed within a day or so. Aside from that the southern media could care less what happens to us. The match day commentators say the same thing year after year: “brilliant stadium, brilliant supporters, such a shame about the owner.” That’s the extent of it.

    online guy
    catching up
    thanks for that
    will email chi
Based in aus i am not exactly one of her constituents but parents still are so i can use my “home ” address .
will explain it to me dad who folows the unwashed (i know) but even he hates ashley for what he has done to the club/city.
Before bobby his pure hatred of mackums etc me dad was the youngest of seven brothers the oldest went for Newcastle the youngest 3 chose the mackum route.
I believe back then it wasn’t unusual to go to roker one week and st james the next .
In fact me dad went to every round of the fairs cup season, but celebrated in 73 when they beat Leeds.
Different times and better from the stories i have heard (no social media ,24 hour coverage ,no bell ends calling talk sport from stevenage moaning about their club citeh or why those geordies are delusional )

Pretty sure local business can see the huge benefits to the local economy a successful and well run club can bring.
Anyone i ever meet when traveling who asks where my accent is from and i tell them Newcastle follows up with ahh the football team.
The club is pivotal to the city and is the best marketing tool we will ever have ,when run correctly .
A live site to me is still the best way to come together and send a message
    #boycott the arse
Those who want to renew and keep your seats …i say do it if you need to he has your money anyway.just don’t attend .it then guarantees an empty seat.then when we finally get rid you can return in the knowledge you helped make a difference.
Last thing i said ages ago i watched netflix thinking it would be hilarious …i didn’t find that .
I just felt sad for what are real football fans(lets be honest they don’t get gloryhunters) and those who work in a club (like the chefs and cooks in the canteen).and the underlying thing i took from it is that it could have easily been us.It still can if you we cant drive this spiteful excuse for a human and his putrid lumps of bile he calls associates from our once proud club.
anyone who thinks you have to be living local to feel the pain is talking shite ,trust me away from in when you are in the minority and are mixing with fans from other teams it is magnified .
    rant owa.
Everyone please get onto the council and ask then to get the ball rolling and help take back the club with a family day on the moor.

You can’t leave a team like ours adrift with no manager in July. We’ve lost the glue that held us together, Rafa. We’re not getting that back. His team of coaches was important as well. He had a shrewd idea of how to pick a starting 11 and gradually built up their confidence. All that is gone now along with Perez and probably more. This is as bad as it’s been for quite a few years.

Yeah, we clearly need more, particularly in attack, our current group would go down, but as I said as a plan, sell a few more, spend around hundred mill in the right areas over two windows, try to get a half decent manager in, we are safely mid table. Ashley would agree to do that because the money’s there. No more than that, but I’m confident he’d sanction that; doubtless fall short in the attempt, but that or thereabouts will be the aim. Not great at all, not ambitious, but that has Ashley written all over it.

so I think we should hear one way or another from either side, either its announced (highly unlikely now i think) or we get the “sources close to ashley ,have said my has found them to be a complete waste of time and he felt could not take the club forward bla bla ”
