One More Shoe To Fall – Let’s Hope It’s Positive For The Club

Neil reported earlier today that Peter Redding, the Geordie journalist in the UAE for Capital Radio, said the statement soon to be released by the Sheikh led BZG would be the last word on their takeover attempt.

Peter said it would finalize the takeover one way or the other.

Here’s the tweet from James (@ToonCaboom) about three hours ago.

Chronicle reporter Lee Ryder is still sticking by the club’s whispers that the owner has still not received a bid yet – but not sure why they would believe Ashley given his long history of lies at Newcastle.

This man simply cannot be trusted – we all know that.

Mike Ashley – Newcastle owner – but not for long?

Peter Redding said that it’s simply not true and a bid has been made to Ashley and they say it’s £350M.

If Sheikh Khaled reports he tried but couldn’t buy Newcastle, then it’s becasue Mike Ashley doesn’t want to sell and he should come out and tell the truth for a change.

If that happens then our fans will do av everything they can to force out the owner – to save the club from any further damage – but any demonstrations and the like will need to be peaceful.

We should remember that potential new owners will be watching and could potentially come in and buy the club.

But that’s only if the Sheikh comes out and says he was unable to buy the club.

The excellent news would be that they have bought the club and then we’ll ask the Chronicle why they kept reporting, since May 26th, that Ashley had not received a bid for the club.

Maybe becasue that’s what Ashley told them.

But there have been two sets of facts – one from the club and one from Newcastle – both cannot be true.

But if BZ do manage to buy the club, they will presumably name their manager and if it’s Jose Mourinho then – wait for it – Ashley may even have told the truth about not wanting to give Rafa a new deal because it would cost the new owners a £6M buyout clause.

But the Sun reporter Justin Allen, who broke the takeover news, has already said that Rafa was the manager BZG wanted.

So there’s one more shoe to fall – and we hope it’s positive for Newcastle fans and the club.

Losing Rafa was a severe and unnecessary blow the club will find difficult to overcome.

And like yesterday – pretending nothing was wrong – is like putting your head in the sand – but come to think of it that’s the way Ashley has run the club since May, 007.

It’s like having an elephant in the room and nobody comments on it.

But if Ashley leaves and Sheikh Khaled comes in – there could still be dancing in the streets in Newcastle very soon.

YES!

We have to hope and pray some good news is on the way.

We need it.

Howay The Lads!!

Comments welcome.

‘The Magpie Group would like to invite all fellow Newcastle United fans to boycott all of Mike Ashley’s enterprises, including his retail outlets online and on the high street as well as online.
Basically shun anything this greedy man is associated with!
In Monday’s meeting, we decided that we must call on all fans to unite and #boycott the Arsenal game.
This is a plea particularly to those that feel they are not yet at the stage of renouncing their season ticket.
We openly admit that we have made mistakes in the past by not fulfilling plans to boycott but we will not be fooled again!
For whatever reason, Ashley does not want success on the pitch. He never bought Newcastle United to see the team thrive, only his bank balance.
Every time we move in the right direction, he sabotages our progression through his lies and deceit.
He knew full well as he sat at Fulham that he had no interest in securing Rafa’s future because Rafa wanted to invest into the club in order to be successful.
But one thing Ashley doesn’t like is being embarrassed.
Many of us have already paid for our tickets, but let’s shock and humiliate him by presenting an empty stadium to the nation and reminding everyone that we have pride in our beloved team.
So instead of filling his pockets further, get yourself to a pub and support our local businesses whilst watching the lads play.
This is only the start of many actions that will commence in the coming weeks, months and years, if necessary.
We welcome all other fan groups who we know share the same desire to eradicate this poison from our club to join us in this war.
It is a war and we are only stronger together.’

    Missed the bus there:

So where are we at with all this and who is lying?

BZG says they have signed a Head of Terms with AshLIE.

AshLie claims they have not received an offer.

BZG says they are waiting for a Premier league fit and proper test.

AshLie claims they have not received an offer.

BZG says an offer has been made contrary to what is reported in the press.

AshLie claims they have not received an offer.

AshLIE then claims that Rafa has left because BZG didn’t want him.

AshLie claims they have not received an offer.

Seem the Liar knows no bounds.

Basically this means no sale, BZG either haven’t met Ashleys price or more likely they refused the strings attached such as continued free advertising etc. The announcement (if it ever comes) will be to say they tried , Ashley will then put out his usual ‘they didn’t have the funds to take club to next level etc)

Ed’s on full turbo power today. On previous, the birthday wish came from NUFC, not Ashley. There’s still a difference!!!

Ashley’s never changed. I don’t understand how Rafa thought he would. They gave him the final offer and really, he should’ve known that was it. It doesn’t make it right, but when Ashley says that’s your final offer, it is. Maybe leaving the club with no time to get a new manager in was Rafa’s parting shot – who knows? But I don’t think he was genuinely waiting for Ashley to change his mind because moving to China and sorting his contract out was done before Sunday IMHO.
What’s done is done now though. He may have helped push Ashley out the door.

Being an IT dullard, I haven’t a clue how to drive Twitter so how about you IT wizzkids hitting Ryder with the question why he’s not reporting BZG’s reported assertion that Ashlie’s no bid story is ‘simply not true’

Imagine the headline – ‘Sources at the club accused of lying – BZG claim a bid has been tabled’

That should test Ryder and his slack-arsed colleagues.

Gerrard in as manager by this time next week.

Harry Wilson in to replace Perez for £15-20m.

Carroll/Welbeck/Sturridge brought in on a free to replace Rondon.

Deploys his 4-3-3 attacking style he’s used at Rangers

    __________________Dubs____________________
    Yedlin____Schar_________Lascelles____Dummett
    ___________Hayden_____Shelvey
    ________________Longstaff
    ___Wilson____________________Almiron
    ______________Welbeck

Think he’d prefer Welbeck out of the 3 mentioned. Cited in his book how if you play with a lone ST you need them to work hard and press, which is one of Welbeck’s main assets.

I would actually be looking forward to the season if that happened and I’m sure there’d be some rueful season ticket binners too. A Gerrard team with that trio in midfield would be very interesting and cause for excitement, in my opinion.

Especially if we still had £40m to spend before selling the deadwood and not good enough:

    Elliott
    Lazaar
    Colback
    Saivet
    Atsu
    Aarons
    Joselu

    Should be another £10m there.

A new first choice RB, another CM and a young ST needed.

Make the right moves and most will be back on board sharpish.

    Daily uplifting update.

BZG have made claims confirming agreement.
BZG have made claims they are assisting premier league.
Midhat has given snippets of positive info.
Toon confirmed initially the statement was true.

Contrary to popular belief Ashley and Toon have made no statement about BZG nor having funds or not submitting bid etc etc.

    Then the other circumstancial stuff.
Transfer embargo unless but it clause hit.
    Absolute silence.
Club in bad state with no manager and nothing appearing to be done about it.
    Monochrome acquisitions.
Private flights into Newcastle and onto Luton.

    The list goes on.
I’m not seeing anything negative surrounding the takeover except length of time it’s taking but as we know the league can take a long as they need. They have to reply in 15 working days but can continue their investigation as long as they feel the need.

I’m staying upbeat. Won’t be long until we’re all happy and drinking heavily.

    Bobby
We have had our differences but respect for the stance you are taking.
Even if you boycott only televised games it would be a big help.
Blue Star have published figures for transfer dealing and in the last 3 years alone Mr Ashley has made a PROFIT of 60 million. Sissoko, Wijnaldum, Merino Thauvin are being replaced with 2 million players or free transfers.
Take into consideration the 120 million SKY money each year, the gate receipts of 25 million, the sponsorship deals, live game monies and SD free advertising (or dirt cheap costs) the guy must be pulling in 200 million. Take 70 million away for wages and Ashley is making 130 million in a good year and between 50 and 100 million in a bad year (when he might have to buy somebody). Forgotto include the 60 million in profits which equates to 20 million a year over the last 3 years.
And you think he is going to give up 100 million a year to sell the golden goose for 350??
The current “sale” is doomed. Bot sides are now bickering about whether an offer has been made. O f course an offer has been made but the goal posts are being moved to prevaricate. There is no seller.
He will not go voluntarily. He needs to be forced out. Let him find 100 million elsewhere. The golden goose has is fighting back.

Tbh I think Longstaff is leaving. Not many people turn Manure down and you can see why. From what I can gather they’re offering him a 70k a week contract and we won’t compete with that. But it’s not even about money is it? They are one of the biggest clubs in the world.
If I was him I would stay. He guaranteed a place here, whereas he’ll have to up his game to start there. What is it? Nine games in? He’s taking a big gamble but I honestly think his, head has been turned already. They seem too sure of themselves which makes you think he’s been tapped up. What’s he on here? £20-25k a week? That’s a huge hike in wages. Plus whatever sweetener they chuck in. I think we should prepare ourselves for the worst.

Imagine if Ashley pissed about and wrecked the sale? He would have wasted another year of hard graft and chucked loads of money down the drain and have to start all over again. Pointless.
He will be a willing seller and no doubt assisting.
    Just give it time.

Do folks now even know what it means to ask fellow workers/supporters for their backing. To go with the consensus and not just me me me, this is what I think and it’s all about me.
The trade union movement, when folks supported each other as no bugger else would.

Getting the consensus for it will be hard. The last time they staged protests, the walk in etc, no one asked me to support it or tried to convince me. It was just we are having one end of.

The last 30-40% of supporters you would really have to pull out all the stops.

As with Bobby. Even if you don’t think it will work, even if you don’t believe in them, will you do it to stand with your fellow supporters. United.

As a last resort picket lines. Supporters asking supporters to back them.

It won’t happen just by putting out tweets and other bollocks on line. It will take face to face and person to person conversation.

If you can’t persuade them embarrass them into joining. Anything, but has to fall short of any form of intimidation.
