The players have completed their first day back at Newcastle in preparation for the season ahead. The club kept up with the activities of the day on Twitter sending out pictures and videos of the players.
They can be very good at communicating when it deals with things like training but it only highlights how sorely the club is lacking in other areas of communication.
However, in this case the communication with the fans was excellent as they sent out the following tweets:
? The lads have been undergoing testing with the club's medical staff this morning, with fitness work due to commence out on the training pitches over the next few days.

One gripe we would have is that the club seems to be intent on acting as if everything is normal when it definitely is not. Some communication about the proposed takeover, the manager search, or even the future plans of the club would really help to calm the fears of many supporters.
In regards to the tweets on the activities of the day, we have no complaints. Though something really needs to be said about the state of the club off the pitch at the moment.
A handful of players also got involved and sent out tweets recognizing their first day back at training. One of the ones we were very happy to see back was Florian Lejeune who sent out a tweet simply saying “First day of pre-season training!”
However, he was carrying a bag over his head and with the current state of affairs at the club we were slightly worried that he may have packed up and left. Then we realized it was a weight bag and it was being used for fitness. In all seriousness, it is great to see Florian make such strides in his recovery from his second devastating knee injury in less than a year.
Here are the tweets went out by Florian, Federico Fernandez, and Paul Dummett:

Comment #133For what it’s worth, the fact that BZG haven’t released a statement is (to me) a positive as it will say one of two things; either “We’ve bought you” or “We’re out of here”.
One thing that was mentioned was that they were awaiting FA approval (or similar), surely that could be a reason for a delay?
I watched a program on YouTube last night about Russel King and Notts County. He reminded me of someone.

I posted a couple of comments to you a couple of nights ago about giving it a rest.
Your like that boring guy that walks into the local club, you take one step in the bar and everyone scatters because they don’t want to be bored to death. Either get a life stop the insults or jog on to another site it’s not the Tony Baloney blog.

Comment #140Why is it that we have people who claim to work in the middle east trying to string along fans about a takeover that doesn’t exist?
That’s like saying because you work at Gregg’s on Northumberland street that you know every business related transaction going on in newcastle.
Do people think that every business deal over there is broadcast on local tv?
THERE IS NO TAKEOVER
Also any fan who continues to buy season tickets and the latest kits are just as comparable as Ashley himself…trying to make out that they’re the true fans…rubbish…you’re doing nothing to fix the problem so you’re part of the issue

Comment #151Here are some points for debate:
Rolando Aarons
Henri Saivet
Achraf Lazaar
Dwight Gayle
Jack Colback
Jacob Murphy
Out on loan last season currently earning (guessing) an average of £25k/week each. = £7.8m
First team squad of 25 over and above those (guessing) an average of £35k/week each = £45.5m
TOTAL £53.3m per year of spending on players. Add in other costs of other staff, a few more expensive players than £35k/week and you can see that a lot of cash goes on wages.
Apart from good business, there are (Premier League) rules about an average running profit for three years which (when you have made a £90m loss by being in the Championship) mean that it’s not the best idea to splash loads of cash on £90m players which then run at £80000 per week. At least not when you don’t have incomes to balance the books.
I think we will see the back of Mike Ashley, and I will be very pleased with that. If there is no take-over this month, the Premier League need to consider the credibility of a competition with one group of teams playing against a group of “fodder” teams. The competition becomes a joke like the Harlem Globetrotters or Professional Wrestling.
However, my point is that many people have posted a lot of stupid things on this blog. Some slanderous, some hateful, and some just badly intentioned. I have recently found this embarrassing and as I come from Blyth and have NUFC in my blood, I feel this reflects on me and where I belong.
If you want to say money from player sales “goes straight into Mike Ashley’s pocket” or Debenhams, check the registered accounts at Companies House and get your facts correct first.
I have, in the past, enjoyed seeing posts such as “I have just seen a camel’s foot in the Big Market so a takeover must be on” and I hang on posts about helicopter logs and the like but the stuff about Mike Ashley taking money out of the club has not been true. (I do not like Mike Ashley in any shape or form). He gets his money when he sells the club for a multi million pound profit.

In catching up this morning and seeing your posts to Micky I thought you were reacting to the negative reactions to yourself in recent days by imitating the frogs shill nonsense (but usingITKs) and trying to demonstrate its futility and the double standards on here.?
However after the barrage not stopping when a point could have been made i am wondering if you have lost patience and the p!ot and now seeking to start a reaction against Micky as main ITK
I am only checking Blog at present for news as I am desperate for a sale as it has degenerated into a slanging match worse than ever and it’s got worse 🙁
So please whatever your intention can you give it a rest. If you are a genuine poster as I thought you were then don’t lose the goodwill some have shown you on here in the attack on Micky .

Brave decision mate but ultimately with what’s going on (or not in this case) with the shoddy running of our club, the correct one I think.
Sacrifice has to be made for the long term future of NUFC and if that means staying away and not supporting this cancerous regime because let’s face it, that’s all that’s on offer because it’s certainly not about the team or football anymore.
Sad sad times mate.

Comment #159embarrassed by this blog – you’re right, Ashley doesn’t directly take money out of the club for his pockets because he would face tax implications if he were issuing himself a dividend. He doesn’t like to waste money. Ashley does however ‘move’ his money between companies which is a perfectly legal way to conduct your finances; it is however morally reprehensible when the money you’re moving is meant to improve the football club you’re running and someone would prefer to spend it on shops or almost dead clothing brands.
And given the enormous web of complexity that MA has spun with regards to his businesses and how they each tie up to each other, it’s probably important to remember that if you’re selling a club you first have to detangle it. When people talk about how quickly other takeovers have gone, can you imagine Huddersfield was part of a holding company that was part of another company with subsidiary companies and share holding shell companies?
