Players And Club Tweet After First Day Back

The players have completed their first day back at Newcastle in preparation for the season ahead. The club kept up with the activities of the day on Twitter sending out pictures and videos of the players.

They can be very good at communicating when it deals with things like training but it only highlights how sorely the club is lacking in other areas of communication.

However, in this case the communication with the fans was excellent as they sent out the following tweets:

One gripe we would have is that the club seems to be intent on acting as if everything is normal when it definitely is not. Some communication about the proposed takeover, the manager search, or even the future plans of the club would really help to calm the fears of many supporters.

In regards to the tweets on the activities of the day, we have no complaints. Though something really needs to be said about the state of the club off the pitch at the moment.

A handful of players also got involved and sent out tweets recognizing their first day back at training. One of the ones we were very happy to see back was Florian Lejeune who sent out a tweet simply saying “First day of pre-season training!”

However, he was carrying a bag over his head and with the current state of affairs at the club we were slightly worried that he may have packed up and left. Then we realized it was a weight bag and it was being used for fitness. In all seriousness, it is great to see Florian make such strides in his recovery from his second devastating knee injury in less than a year.

Here are the tweets went out by Florian, Federico Fernandez, and Paul Dummett:

Isn’t it normal, under Ashley, leading up to season ticket renewal time, that we read of all these good players Newcastle are after? It has been strangely quiet on that front this year. After a poor uptake, don’t the club extend the renewal date? Have they done this yet? Strange things are afoot.
I think it reasonable to assume, with all the plane activity, that meetings are taking place in London between Ashley and BZG. If that is the case, then we are going to know soon what the outcome of those meetings will be. This announcement of an upcoming announcementcan only be it’s off or it’s on. If it’s off, then why this strange plane activity?

You’ve too many vowels in your moniker… There is an inintential ‘o’ in the middle of it.

Mickey please take the wummery with a pinch of salt buddy, even though I no longer believe a takeover is happening, I still have eternal hope that something can come out of this nothing… Keep your ear to the ground fella and like most folk on here, even if info is proven incorrect I fully trust you aren’t on the wind up and just relaying snippets that you come across, and personally I have a respect for you doing this as some of the abuse coming your way from a minority is relentless. Anyway, sensible folk will judge the info themselves without taking a personal vendetta against you!

I just did a huge post with some links to Companies house ….. but they didn’t post!

Mash Holdings is the main one. It gives the huge number of associated companies showing how complicated the business structure is.

The comment that Mike Ashley neither directly or indirectly (including interest from loans) has not benefited from the ownership. I Agree that there could be money moving to other companies and these are accounts for only one particular year. But I thought it was interesting to note that the line was inserted and verified by the accountants.

A further benefit would be the Sports Direct ground sponsorship thing which I could not see any numbers for.

As I mentioned before, there’s always something slightly off skew when a “new poster” lands in the blog like a 4×4 with a mounted anti-tank gun blazing ha ha. Tony Baloney is a spoof poster with a mischievous agenda, he’s tried his futile tricks on a few of us and now in his desperation he’s lashing out at any soft target. Just skip over him he will get tired and if not he knows he’s being ignored. Everyone is doing a sterling job absolutely blanking flat lander beef and and the hilariously obvious “Dai” from the valleys just keep it going chaps and chapesses. 😀

Now I’m not siding with Tony B by any means but it remains that to be a truly blog-friendly ITK you need to ensure your posts are always tinged with disclaimer and caveats and not promote an idea as based on fact. Unfortunately Micky hasn’t done that, the “due diligence” you could say. It’s contributed to blog hysteria and raised expectations beyond fairness imho. Not a good look for someone who has pointed out others posts regularly as “look at me” cries. I apologise I like Micky’s posts and content, but on this matter I was disappointed. The deal might be a totally long shot by now and still come off, it might look like Micky has been vindicated but it will be more luck than judgement. Not as bad as OLGs bluster by any means but yeah that’s it really.

The “embarrassed” comment was a bit naive unfortunately. Two steps back from that comment you can see it’s splitting hairs to say Ashley po keys player sale money. Of course that’s not directly true. It would be tax – efficiency madness. Of course Ashley trousers club money, his financial machine is complicated and deliberately convoluted but it’s in place to earn him money. Why else would funds be so tight? Why else would he hold onto the club he obviously dislikes? Need to re-think your motive for posting, “embarrassed”.
