Sky Sports is reporting that Blackburn are interested in bringing in Karl Darlow this summer.
The report says that Blackburn see Darlow as the replacement for David Raya, who is reportedly close to a move to Brentford.
Karl has just one year remaining on his contract at Newcastle. While he has stated in the past that he is very happy on Tyneside, he just has not played much since Martin Dubravka joined in January 2018.
In fact, he made just one appearance last season in the League Cup as Freddie Woodman was preferred to start in the FA Cup.
We are not sure if Newcastle would offer Karl a new contract or if he would even accept one. But now is the time to make that determination as Newcastle will not want to let him run out his contract.
Karl Darlow– drawing the interest of Blackburn Rovers
Darlow is a pretty reliable back up although he does not really match the skillset of Martin Dubravka very well.
Newcastle would likely be able to recoup the £4m they paid Nottingham Forest for him in 2014 when he was bought along with Jamaal Lascelles.
Darlow has made just 59 appearances since his loan spell ended at Nottingham Forest in 2015. He is just 28-year-old which is young for a keeper nowadays, so he it be best for him to go to a club where can player regularly.

Comment #1‘The Magpie Group would like to invite all fellow Newcastle United fans to boycott all of Mike Ashley’s enterprises, including his retail outlets online and on the high street as well as online.
Basically shun anything this greedy man is associated with!
In Monday’s meeting, we decided that we must call on all fans to unite and #boycott the Arsenal game.
This is a plea particularly to those that feel they are not yet at the stage of renouncing their season ticket.
We openly admit that we have made mistakes in the past by not fulfilling plans to boycott but we will not be fooled again!
For whatever reason, Ashley does not want success on the pitch. He never bought Newcastle United to see the team thrive, only his bank balance.
Evert time we move in the right direction, he sabotages our progression through his lies and deceit.
He knew full well as he sat at Fulham that he had no interest in securing Rafa’s future because Rafa wanted to invest into the club in order to be successful.
But one thing Ashley doesn’t like is being embarrassed.
Many of us have already paid for our tickets, but let’s shock and humiliate him by presenting an empty stadium to the nation and reminding everyone that we have pride in our beloved team.
So instead of filling his pockets further, get yourself to a pub and support our local businesses whilst watching the lads play.
This is only the start of many actions that will commence in the coming weeks, months and years, if necessary.
We welcome all other fan groups who we know share the same desire to eradicate this poison from our club to join us in this war.
It is a war and we are only stronger together.’

Spot on, people like to yap about ashley and yet they stil turn up to games, all it will take to make a massive statement is an empty st james park for the arsenal game, live on tv would make a huge statement but id say wed b lucky to hav 10000 empty seats and with season tickets renewed theyl giv out an attendance of 48 or 49 thousand and itl reinforce the boycotts dont work theory, we need at least 20 to 25 thousand missing to make it visable

Comment #14As an armchair fan, I don’t have the right to tell people to go or not. However, having a mostly empty ground for the first couple of televised home games would surely have some impact. He doesn’t like to be embarrassed. My son has a ST, I can always see if he”s join in with it.

Comment #24You will all know I am right that Boobybee cannot have it both ways. You cannot spend 1 million words on here saying you will go to games because it is your life, your love your passion. Never will give it up. I am disabled but I will crawl to the games if I have to, etc… And then not go. Definition of a hypocrite.

Comment #26If we sell Darlow we can’t send Woodman out on loan. Is Woodman ready to make the jump… not in my mind. Think he should play in the Championship this year but we kept him around last year because of injury worries. I can see Darlow getting sold but that makes Woodman a true member of the first team.

Comment #31oldarse Getting money out of the game… Good luck with that! The only real hope is that the top 4 or even 6 join a superleague and the Prem then does a salary cap much like in the NHL. That keeps thing competitive because there are no overloaded teams holding all the mega stars and even small market teams remain competitive. But until the top 4 move on there’s almost no chance of that.

Comment #34And I was fine with Bobbybee until he flipped.
He could have said he was wavering and wondering about Ashley and might join the boycott. After 12 fckn years FFS. But no. He said never, ever.
It meant to much to him and he would never give it up.
That’s why he moved back to the NE. Ashley can never take that away. Even after 12 years!

Comment #38At least one thing is starting to become clear, with 11 youngsters signing new contracts, we are looking to bring through youngsters rather than sign players.
Which I’m more than happy with, the more Geordies playing for us the better, and for fat man it’s the cheaper option, so it works for both of us.
There’s only one thing the stupid greedy man didn’t consider first. Who are these youngsters got to look up to and learn from?!?!?
I mean it’s not like our senior players have won anything, have any experience in champions League, or are good enough to stay in the premier League themselves.
So what exactly are these youngsters going to be taught??? How are they going to progress???? You need to sort the first team before building a youth team. That’s why we needed Benitez.
In other ways, fatty has made an arse of it again!!!!!!!

Comment #40What I was saying is that The Magpie Group contact all sporting groups join together as a collective and put pressure on clubs TV, it then becomes the fans who have the power to influence our sports.
