Newcastle Linked With Serie A Defender

Calcio Mercato is reporting that Newcastle are interested in Genoa centre-back Davide Biraschi.

The former U21 Italian international has been with Genoa since 2016 when he moved from Avellino for €1.6m. He still has three years remaining on his contract.

He was a mainstay at Genoa last season making 36 appearances with only 2 from the substitutes bench.

Biraschi is valued at €10m by Genoa and the player is also drawing interest from Everton, Lazio, and Atalanta.

Genoa generally deploy a back three similar to what Newcastle used under Rafa Benitez last term. Though, we have no idea what formation or system Newcastle will have next season as the search for a new manager has barely gotten underway.

Davide Biraschi– do Newcastle need another centre-back?

We would have our doubts about this transfer as central defence is one area in which Newcastle has excellent depth.

Currently, there is Jamaal Lascelles, Fabian Schar, Florian Lejeune, Federico Fernandez, Ciaran Clark, and Paul Dummett who can all do a job there.

Newcastle may well have scouted the player but we would imagine he would only become a target if another club poached one of our current defenders.

Toon 22…………….. If your agenda is genuine, as it’s hard to be sure these days, then your resilience and persistence must be admired.
To want rid of Ashley and to expose the PR plants, who make a poor job of being discreet anyway ,is a worthwhile mission and you and your associates don’t look like giving up anytime soon.

What I would say is that pinning your hopes on a Parliament Bill or a HMRC judgement having any hopes of removing Ashley is at best deluded.
Whichever political party is in power or whether or not a bill is passed to provide more scrutiny for future perspective club owners, this will not affect Ashley.
Ashley is here until he and only he decides to sell. What are they going to do if they suddenly decide he is an unfit owner? Insist that he takes a bad price and sells up immediately? Confiscate the club
    from him?
With regards to any illegal activities he may be found guilty of, rest assured he will have the best lawyers to defend him and losing his football club will not be part of any punishment.
Therefore why not channel your time and energy into helping to expose and discredit Ashley and his awful businesses to give us a better chance of convincing him that he should go.

think once state of origin is done we will see them fire again but having Carey in makes a massive difference for young lattrel
Anyway better get back to nufc before we get run out of toon for non association football posts 🙂

I am on yo yo with all this .
Aside from your posts the other thing that makes me think is the whole leaked thing about BZG not wanting Rafa ( idiots in my opinion if true)
Ash telling this to the press yet then saying he has no bid from them
Rafa ( who I’d believe) stated he was in the dark about what was going on .
Would you honestly let the glue holding your cash cow together walk away because a group who have not even bid yet have told you too?
    Nah me neither .
    Just dosent add up

To be fair geordietom, he’s a bit dense. Can’t even spell the word queue. Yesterday, I thought he was doing multiple impressions of Manuel from Fawlty Towers with all the ‘Ques’ he was coming out with.

Expecting him to put ‘the’ before Felling might be a bit much.

Chron reporting we will make 4 or 5 signings … already I count Pérez, diame, Kennedy and Rondon out, 2 loans granted but ffs we’ve already lost 4 and the chron trying to spin this as a positive story.

As we know he says nothing himself but is dropping snippets via his media mates .
Been a few things last few days saying no bid even recieved
This Wednesday will be 2 weeks since he dropped the ultimatum for a bid from BZG I think.
Others here I am sure can clarify it from all the local press I think

You have to wonder how Mike is going to walk away from millions upon millions of quid, it’s all there on a plate for him, keep us nicely in the prem and it’s all there for the taking, that said he named his price, the offer has been taken up???? hasn’t it!

Loving Ryder getting his arse handed to him on twitter.
    Lee Ryder: “No bid”
    Also Lee Ryder: “price accepted”
    Everyone: “which is it Lee?”
Lee Ryder: “Both. No bid but a price has been accepted”
    Everyone: “?????”
Lee Ryder: “What is so hard to understand?”
    Everyone: “Your understanding of transactions”

I’m with you on the takeover, too many coincidences and too little actual information coming out.

The great slug and his little puppet have previous for moving slowly but even by their standards this is painful.

I believe BZG are real and they are confident that they can do the deal and move us forward.

In any deal there are bumps in the road, sadly they have to get past a bloody mountain range.

    Just on Perez

Think he’s a quality buy for Leicester.

Past 2 seasons he has been a consistent match winner, also creating chances and assists. He’s a dangerous player and improved immensely since Rafa arrived.

He’s now coming up to the peak of his career. Leicester could very well see the best of him, playing with better players and part of a well organised club

    Unfortunately for us.

My cynical mind says we will see all sorts of stories about announcements ,signings ,chumpley Warner pissed up wife (Ffs)takeovers increase as the hole boycott gathers pace and size.
They want apathy and to quell the current anger nothing more
Until we see it official I say it’s full steam ahead to destroy this stain on our history

Take a look at the blatant PR here
You having to believe MA is paying them to defend him at a company he’s sold/selling/ almost sold/ will sell whatever

As MA has a history of spending money on things he don’t have to
