Latest “Update” On Takeover Can Have Many Interpretations

The latest tweets by Peter Redding have added more confusion for an already bewildered fan base. If the statements attributed to BZG are in fact legitimate, and that is a big if at this point, what is their purpose?

A person looking favorably on the tweets could see this as BZG trying to quell the fears of the fans while defending themselves, though being unable to do that in an official manner due to non-disclosure agreements.

Someone looking at the deal as doubtful could see the statement as a precursor to the official announcement of its collapse.

Another way to look at it is a complete farce engineered by Mike Ashley and his public relations guru.

If we take the statements at face value, what on earth do they mean?

The first sentence in the initial tweet insinuates that Peter Redding has just come from a meeting with BZG officials and they want to put the following information on record.

The term “put on record” is generally used in regards to disputing counterclaims. In this case, it could refer to recent media reports of no bids being made in the Chronicle and Sky Sports.

The next sentence clearly states that both parties have worked diligently to complete this deal. If Mike Ashley was moving the goalposts, why would they mention both parties and not just say “we”.

They also then claim they have completed every aspect of a takeover process. This first tweet by Peter Redding seems to us to be positive.

The only part that leaves room for doubt is the “none more so than ourselves” when referencing the diligent work on finalising the deal. Though this could just be seen a defense of their integrity due to the reports in the media.

Remember, they made the claims that this takeover was in process in May so any news to the contrary would be an affront to their character.

The second tweet is just a blanket refutation of press reports that no bid or Premier League approval processes have been made.

This statement leads us to believe that the Premier League approval processes are still in place and could be holding up the deal. Though they also do not mention a bid being accepted which would have clarified this statement that much more.

They just mention that press claims of no bid are untrue however if a bid was accepted why would that not have been mentioned at some point.

The final tweet also leads to some confusion once examined fully.

From this tweet, it appears as though Mike Ashley has been a willing participant though again their is no reference to a deal being accepted on his part.

The “if a deal is not forthcoming” phrase is admittedly very worrying though seems to suggest that it is out of the hands for both Mike Ashley and BZG.

Though again we have no specific claims that Mike Ashley has agreed to anything just that he has worked diligently and amicably.

The “due to a lack of effort of both parties” also can be taken as either a positive or a negative. It could be seen that both parties are eager for the deal to go through. Or the “effort” could be alluding to the still ongoing negotiations between Mike Ashley and BZG.

There are both positives and negatives in these statements. So basically we are no closer to finding out what stage this takeover is at.

It would certainly be nice for either Mike Ashley or the Premier League to make some sort of statement at this stage.

I can’t understand why you think that Redding’s report lacks credibility. If the statement was released via Sky would that name it more credible? No.

Hasn’t Sky been complicit in staging interviews with Ashley? Yes.

Hasn’t Sky been keen to issue reports based on ‘sources close to the club’? Yes

Could Redding have built a good relationship with BZG and could BZG have given Redding an exclusive? Why not.

    Wholr thing is bullshit

Why would ashley sell for 350m when he can get over 100m per year from tv money

Ashley is here for the long haul as long as the fans keep going to games and filling his pockets with money

    So….

The FA weren’t quite happy with elements of the takeover, so BZG had to restructure its bid. Ashley has been accommodating in that (maybe we do have a seller!).

Now the ball is in the FAs court to finally sign off, and the statement puts a little pressure on them to do that.

Anyway, it’s not looking good for my left nut that a vowed to eat if the takeover wasnt done by today! (But we are now at the endgame)

Redding is just some bloke on twatter you cant have any reason to believe what hes saying if you do please share… listen I hope with every fibre of my body we get sold but until I hear it from the tapeworm or official source its bs. A multi national isnt going to release details of a multi hundred million dollar deal through sum bloke on twatter with 1300 followers.

For some time now, I’ve come to the conclusion that the longer this farce drags on, the more this smells like a total fabrication by the fat one. It’s just coming from different directions than normal… not the usual suspects, just different and new ones.

Well Mr Ashley, if you don’t sell up this time, you won’t believe what happens next, even while it’s happening.

There’s only one man to blame if the club isn’t sold, yet again.

The gloves will be off as far as I’m concerned.

naptoon “Redding is just some bloke on twatter you cant have any reason to believe what hes saying”

Other than the fact that if he’s lying then he’s guilty of several offences regarding media oversight in UAE law, would be instantly dismissed from his job and likely land a huge fine and a prison sentence.

We can safely assume that the statement did indeed come direct from the BZG as this is what Redding specifically stated. What is unknown is what it actually means and what implications there are for the Sheikhover and timings.

Journalists always make things up like I say you keep believing what you read on twatter. Was he the only person in meeting, does he have a signed statement from bzg or does he have nothing at all to cirroborate what hes saying. And since he hasnt actually said anything defammatory about anybody I doubt hes broke any laws so like I say believe what you want keep chasing the dream on plane watch or twatter and ill wait for summick official or corroboration from major news outlets … amazing how many experts there are on middle east law on this blog.

It seems to me that BZG are starting to put the knife into the fat tw@t, they know he is already facing a shit storm over Rafa’s exit, so if this deal caves in and it’s down to the fat tw@t then we could be upgrading to a monsoon especially if the fat tw@t chooses to saddle the club with a load of debt by striking a deal with the Kenyon group.

oldarse, yep I was kinda parroting Micky honestly. However, it’s not the first time I’ve heard this kind of thing. There was a court case involving some British woman in the last couple of months, got in a twitter spat and ended up being arrested over it. No complaint needed from the other party, if it’s false then it’s a crime and punishable harshly. It’s surely just not worth it for a few twitter likes.

How can you complete a takeover process and not own the club. Howay man. Every build up and entire duration of a transfer window there’s takeover talk at NUFC and on every occasion it’s an absolute exercise in killing time. They never reappear after the window closes. Do they?

If a takeover is not forthcoming…..BOLLOCKS

How much more bizarre can this whole saga get!! Football Gods what have we done to deserve this pain? Like your all saying it makes absolutely NO SENSE for this statement to be released through radio DJ on twitter, but I think what Dubai Mickey says makes sense, it would be lunacy for this guy to make this up if he is not a troll account which he doesn’t seem to be.

I have no idea what will happen anymore, the whole thing can’t be a fabrication somebody involved in this thing must be genuine surely? If BZG are genuine then the bit about Ashley cooperating amicably is the strangest of all, if they have cooperated it would be done surely? I have a bad feeling that somehow BZG are willingly being used by Ashley to take the heat off, that they are in bed together on this scam

Is Capital Radio also not owned by the Royal Family? If your employers are the most powerful family in the region, you don’t make stuff up about their cousins, especially if it’s illegal to do so.

You’re right, of course. Without meaning to come across as a shill, I do think it may be different this time. I hope to God that’s true, anyway. 10k unsold season tickets, fans uniting in opposition (finally) and the heat being turned up politically suggests it could be the right time for Ashley to GTFO. I hope he agrees.

Dont know who owns capital radio but since it has english peeps working on it I presume its summick targeted at ex pats over there and cant see royal family being arsed about it. ive just been checking out the media regs over there couldnt find owt to say what hes done is illegal please post the relevant link either you or dubai obviously have seen as it will give him more credibility ,(redding) in my eyes. Im open to being wrong I dont just believe what im told I cross check with other news outlets and sources and nothing tells me redding has good info far less be charged with releasing details regarding a multi hundred million dollar deal on behalf, as you say, of royal family.
