Chronicle Writer Responds To Silence On BZG Statement

Mark Douglas has responded to criticism of the Chronicle’s silence yesterday on the statements issued by BZG through Capital Radio’s Peter Redding.

Yesterday, it was Keith Downie who had responded about Sky Sports’ lack of coverage.

Here is a series of tweets from Mark Douglas:

This is excellent from Mark Douglas and a response from the Chronicle was necessary at this point. Mark is pointing out that he has contacted BZG but has yet to hear back from them.

He was also very respectful to Peter Redding, who released the statement on Twitter. Mark emphasizes that he has his doubts as the information is not really new and the avenue chosen was very unorthodox.

The Chronicle is still maintaining that the owner’s and director’s test has yet to occur which contradicts the statement released yesterday.

Mark Douglas is absolutely correct though that the state of this club at the moment is of paramount importance. Newcastle, with just a month left before the transfer window slams shut, have made no signings and have no manager.

They are the only club in the Premier League in this predicament and the people who run this club must be held to account.

Mark also did respond in regards to the silence from Newcastle with the following tweet.

Newcastle United, it’s fans, and those who cover the club are in a state of disunity right now.

This duality at Newcastle is furthered by a club that continues to run in complete silence.

Fans are at odds with each other about boycotts and renewing season tickets.

Fans and journalists are divided on the state and legitimacy of the takeover.

This is a state that has been inflicted by Mike Ashley’s refusal to treat the fans with any amount of respect.

A simple statement would resolve some of the growing discontent and confusion surrounding this club.

Meanwhile, this club is in serious threat of relegation as they continue to fall further and further behind. If they don’t act soon this fall could be fatal.

    Guys… Jail has had a bypass…

Thankfully (all disputes aside) the operation was a complete success.

His sense of hunour has been completely removed.

And his surgeon says there is no chance of it coming back.

It seems only betfair suddenly slashed Agent Bruce’s to od.ds on, they apparently also restricted the max bet to £18 on Jose. Seems they are very cautious or the spark to steal money from puters in a betting cabal. If Bruce’s odds start to fall to odds on with the rest, I will be really worried, I can’t see BZG proudly parading Bruce as our new manager

Like I say I’m not Twitter savvy and I get it looks suspiciously fake, but how can it be linked to the BZG website? Surely I couldn’t just make a Twitter account and link it to a domain I don’t own?

BZG founded in 1988, account made in 2011 as a European Twitter for them but not used until now as they haven’t had a venture here yet?

Geordie Dentist was saying the other day they don’t use social media regularly so could this be legit and is just the start of their Twitter communications?

Fog on the tyne – I am on fence with this please man stop it’s a fake account that has been set up to wum mugs like us. In the 1 per cent this fakeover does happen do you think they would post it prior to announcement on a twitter account they never use bloody hell man give your head a shake, If that was the case why not put the statement from yesterday on there pull yourself together man you are in for a nasty fall when Steve Bruce is appointed, wor lass is the manager of William Hill she rang me earlier today to state that they have received a number of very large bets on Mr Bruce in the last hour. Thank God I cancelled my ST this morning.

Steve Bruce is the kind of appointment a poorly-advised new owner might make in a mistaken attempt to please the fans – he is a Geordie, after all.

I’m hoping they’re keeping tabs on SM, will see the reaction and change their minds as necessary.

I feel like us fans are in an unlimited rounds boxing match, we get a couple of jabs in, a bit of rest bite then the hammer punches keep coming.

At some point we are going to get knocked out or someone is going to throw in the towel.

Does anyone know exactly what the players have allegedly been told? Is it “big announcement to be made soon”?; could be new manager. Is it “takeover announcement to be made soon”?; could be on or off. Is it “takeover to be announced soon”?; good news.
If the player’s know, even if they are told to keep their mouths shut, the local lads will have many friends in the area and it will surely be very difficult to keep the cat in the bag.

#NUFC are looking for someone who will hit the ground running and has a working up-to-date knowledge of the English top flight rather than someone from overseas who will be learning about the Premier League on the job. Ruling out Giovanni van Bronckhorst
