Chronicle Writer Responds To Silence On BZG Statement

Mark Douglas has responded to criticism of the Chronicle’s silence yesterday on the statements issued by BZG through Capital Radio’s Peter Redding.

Yesterday, it was Keith Downie who had responded about Sky Sports’ lack of coverage.

Here is a series of tweets from Mark Douglas:

This is excellent from Mark Douglas and a response from the Chronicle was necessary at this point. Mark is pointing out that he has contacted BZG but has yet to hear back from them.

He was also very respectful to Peter Redding, who released the statement on Twitter. Mark emphasizes that he has his doubts as the information is not really new and the avenue chosen was very unorthodox.

The Chronicle is still maintaining that the owner’s and director’s test has yet to occur which contradicts the statement released yesterday.

Mark Douglas is absolutely correct though that the state of this club at the moment is of paramount importance. Newcastle, with just a month left before the transfer window slams shut, have made no signings and have no manager.

They are the only club in the Premier League in this predicament and the people who run this club must be held to account.

Mark also did respond in regards to the silence from Newcastle with the following tweet.

Newcastle United, it’s fans, and those who cover the club are in a state of disunity right now.

This duality at Newcastle is furthered by a club that continues to run in complete silence.

Fans are at odds with each other about boycotts and renewing season tickets.

Fans and journalists are divided on the state and legitimacy of the takeover.

This is a state that has been inflicted by Mike Ashley’s refusal to treat the fans with any amount of respect.

A simple statement would resolve some of the growing discontent and confusion surrounding this club.

Meanwhile, this club is in serious threat of relegation as they continue to fall further and further behind. If they don’t act soon this fall could be fatal.

That account was started July 2019. So it’s a group of bell ends messing about. And not being very convincing.

Markaccus, yep I did mention it was a brand new account. Just passing it on. If I didn’t, someone else would.

I wish they had their own twitter account so nobody could actually just invent one. Seriously boring filtering out all the cr@p to get to the kernels of truth/

I just saw this. I feel the fans can be pests sometimes. Sad that staff get hounded so extremely.

The Bin Zayed Group appreciate and understand that the dedicated and loyal #NUFC supporters would enjoy a swift resolution to the takeover. However, we ask that you refrain from contacting members of the BZG directly asking for information.

Bruce, yes a Geordie but a Geordie that went to the dark side, if this is the clubs ambition to get a manager in that has a 50/50 % chance of getting us relegated then let’s help Mr Ashley by storming the pitch and getting the league to dock us points, I have a feeling most would love to help Mike achieve his dreams early on.

Imo MA is paying third party’s to use their name as potential buyers of the club.
    It’s a con.
Thousands have bought their season tickets no doubt. So enjoy your budget football next season. MA relies on you. So well done.
I boycotted several years ago when I wanted more from my club.
Each to their own I suppose.
