Mark Douglas has responded to criticism of the Chronicle’s silence yesterday on the statements issued by BZG through Capital Radio’s Peter Redding.
Yesterday, it was Keith Downie who had responded about Sky Sports’ lack of coverage.
Here is a series of tweets from Mark Douglas:
Well firstly, attempts to verify it have proved frustrating. Two channels I have for BZG are yet to reply to confirm it's veracity. Not to criticise the person Tweeting it but we couldn't/wouldn't reproduce something like that as fact without double sourcing it.

If they – as Peter says – want the sentiments to be circulated widely and quickly, they need to verify it with other journalists – or release it in a different way. That's just responsible journalism on our part I feel (we always double source – if not more).

On the actual contents (I do think it's likely kosher), it says very little new & doesn't clarify what needs to be clarified. It's confusing.
My info remains owners/director's test hasn't started. That contradicts their statement & they haven't replied to requests on that.

It feels like a waste of energy to keep ruminating too much on this bid when we need action now, not words. Yday (and so much of this BZG bid) has been a distraction from the very big issue of a club a month away from the season with no manager, no signings, fans flooding away &

really big questions about how it's being run.
In 11 years, this is the worst I've ever known it. I'm kind of not bothered about BZG until we get a breakthrough because we've been in this 'will it/won't it' holding pattern for months.

This is excellent from Mark Douglas and a response from the Chronicle was necessary at this point. Mark is pointing out that he has contacted BZG but has yet to hear back from them.
He was also very respectful to Peter Redding, who released the statement on Twitter. Mark emphasizes that he has his doubts as the information is not really new and the avenue chosen was very unorthodox.
The Chronicle is still maintaining that the owner’s and director’s test has yet to occur which contradicts the statement released yesterday.
Mark Douglas is absolutely correct though that the state of this club at the moment is of paramount importance. Newcastle, with just a month left before the transfer window slams shut, have made no signings and have no manager.
They are the only club in the Premier League in this predicament and the people who run this club must be held to account.
Mark also did respond in regards to the silence from Newcastle with the following tweet.
Both asked to go on the record but decline invitations. That's for them to justify I suppose. We've reported what we've learned from sources and got dog's abuse.

Newcastle United, it’s fans, and those who cover the club are in a state of disunity right now.
This duality at Newcastle is furthered by a club that continues to run in complete silence.
Fans are at odds with each other about boycotts and renewing season tickets.
Fans and journalists are divided on the state and legitimacy of the takeover.
This is a state that has been inflicted by Mike Ashley’s refusal to treat the fans with any amount of respect.
A simple statement would resolve some of the growing discontent and confusion surrounding this club.
Meanwhile, this club is in serious threat of relegation as they continue to fall further and further behind. If they don’t act soon this fall could be fatal.

Comment #282Step one… Use a dormant account from 2011 to pretend to be BZG
Step two… Realise you were rumbled within 20 microseconds.
Step three…. Create a brand new, even more obvious fake account pretending to be “the real” bzg
Step four…. Reevaluate your life after realising what a sad insignificant waste of carbon and water you are.
Step five… Realise there is no hope for you at all, and hang yourself in your parents loft.

Comment #283Why not contact the Premier instead of BZG? If thats where its at because BZG must be getting fairly racked off with people pestering them, if the Premier league deny they are looking at it then we can become substantially more pissed off…
chancel be a fine thing

Comment #285Bruce has a win ratio of only 38.5% in his Managerial career.
It’s been quoted that we need an experienced Premier League Manager – sorry but this group of clubs don’t cover that requirement:
Sheffield United
Huddersfield Town
Wigan Athletic
Crystal Palace
Birmingham City
Wigan Athletic
Sunderland
Hull City
Aston Villa
Sheffield Wednesday
The team fly out to China on Saturday – they will go with Neil Redfearn in charge, there’s no Managerial appointment happening in the next 3 days.
The new Manager is already in China that’s why the odds are being manipulated and bets loaded at the bookies – to make those in the know more money. Remember the Chinese love a bet.
Anyway Bruce owes the Club money from not paying his entrance money at the turnstiles when he was a bairn so Ashley won’t let him in or would make him work in the kitchens on zero hours.

Comment #286Why don’t the journalists pester the premier league? If that is where it’s at surely that’s who they should contact?

Yes, one would imagine there would be a pre O/D test signed agreement contingent on PL approval – if that was the case, there’s absolutely nowt Ashley can do about it………. Apart from not signing the pre test agreement.

Comment #289How can the Chronicle reprint the garbage they do when tt’s reported by the Sun, or the Mail, or the Guardian, and then claim they can’t print it without a double source?
What absolute garbage. If they refused to print anything without a double source the website would be empty.
