Rafa Benitez Returns To Writing On His Blog With Dig At Newcastle Hierarchy

In his first blog post in five years, Rafa Benitez has written about his first week at Dalian Yifang. In a blog post entitled My first seven days – what an experience, Rafa details his first week at the Chinese club.

Of interest to Newcastle fans, there was as section where he wrote about his great new relationship with the Chairman, President, and General Manager of Dalian Yifang. That section of the blog was titled “Warm Welcome”.

This is what Rafa Benitez writes:

As we all know from experience, in football, just as in everyday life, when people show you respect and affection and do everything they can to make things easier for you, life is much happier, even when you face difficult moments. I must say that I have had more meetings with the Chairman, the President and the General Manager this week, than I had in 3 years at Newcastle. They haven’t just been work meetings, rather signs of respect in which we have been able to appreciate the differences and similarities in our cultures.

Well this paragraph really says it all. Rafa may be exaggerating a bit, but if he is, it is not by much. Rafa was not treated with respect by Mike Ashley. He was treated like expendable dirt which is how Ashley treats the fans of the club.

It does look like Rafa has moved on but may have a little anger left inside that is still eating at him. We really don’t blame him. He suffered from the same lack of communication and lies that the fans have had to endure for the past twelve years.

So Rafa has returned to writing on his blog. If the latest entry is anything to judge by, it should be interesting to follow.

Bruce is about the stamp of class of manager we could get at present…. doesn’t bode well…. he’s not good enough but would any manager of similar ilk be any betta…..not likely…easy pay day for some second rate manager.

Good timing as far as Charnley’s concerned.
Away from the shitstorm in the UK in China
A couple of PL standard fixtures
If the team play good footy they may be granted breathing space

The club is not even up for sale, it’s a scam MA is giving third party’s a back hander to use their name as potential buyers.
Unfortunately most fans Are buying it Time and time again. Wishful thinking I suppose.
All this will soon be yesterday’s news and we can enjoy our last season in the Premier league, well at least SJP will be rocking with chants of you Fkin fat bast get out of our club.

Not Bruce agggh… I put up a poll on facebook threw in what I thought were the 8 likeliest suspects and added the following by way of explanation of some notable exceptions to “likely” candidates:

I excluded Hoots because I can’t see him agreeing to come back after how he was treated by ownership and Pardew given his relationship with the fans. I excluded Fat Sam, Steve Bruce and Keane because… well because.

So of course now it seems Ashley’s nailed on for one of my “because” exclusions. That’s how low we’ve sunk.

“If the team play good footy they may be granted breathing space”.

There is nothing like some arbitrary false equivalence. The current problems are not with the playing staff.

Sure, when the Ashley protests start off, it will only lead to the loss of gate money in SJP, but the negative vibes in a half empty SJP will filter onto the pitch and effect the performance of the players and the poor performances will lead to lots of points lost, leading to relegation. Ashley needs to remember when we arrived back in the Prem we fought off relegation both seasons, it was only possible because a quality manager with the backing of 52.000 fans every home game and the support of the whole Geordie nation. The fans have drawn a line and withdrawn their support,
all of a sudden we have gone from costing Ashley a few quid in gate money to realistically facing life in the Championship and the fans won’t be busting a gut to get him out of there this time.
2 seasons after Sunderland were relegated from the Prem they were up for sale in league 1 for a pound £1, don’t think it can’t happen to Ashley. He needs to act now while it is still in his hands.

For the first time in a few yrs i could really see us pushing on this season. Yes, more consolidating but my only single wish was for rafa to sign.

A few players within our budget, fine. Top 10 possibly.

How the hell could it go from rafa to the shite we’re in now.

Its just shows Rafa was papering over mikes cracks, we’ve always been vulnerable under Fatty. Now its probably as bad as it can get?

You should understand smart alec phrases before

It’s just an opinion about what may happen therefore cannot
be fallacious and there’s no argument just a judgement.

We’d all like to hear Rafa slagging off Mike and co but his comments speak much more about the Chinese way of doing business. Even top level inter- Governmental negotiations have been long and repeated meetings where anything but the business at hand was discussed. It would be all about knowing you as a person, your motives, what makes you tick, your family, your outlook on life, integrity, all sorts of stuff. And then when it is thought everything was a waste of time, there would be a half hour at the end of it all when the deal was agreed, hands shook and business was concluded.

The Chinese club owners will have been doing all this before during and now after hiring Rafa.

Charnley is history if he thinks Bruce is the man.
That apart Bruce is not available as he’s under contract and that requires compo , he lacks relevant Premier League experience and is not going to hold the players attention – points which have already been stated by sources as must haves for the job. His win ratio is 38.5% which equates to relegation form I suspect.

Just hope that his mate Shearer does him, the fans and the club a favour by dissuading him.

Or is it dream team time – Shearer as DoF and Bruce as Coach.
Didn’t see that coming did we.
