Rafa Benitez Returns To Writing On His Blog With Dig At Newcastle Hierarchy

In his first blog post in five years, Rafa Benitez has written about his first week at Dalian Yifang. In a blog post entitled My first seven days – what an experience, Rafa details his first week at the Chinese club.

Of interest to Newcastle fans, there was as section where he wrote about his great new relationship with the Chairman, President, and General Manager of Dalian Yifang. That section of the blog was titled “Warm Welcome”.

This is what Rafa Benitez writes:

As we all know from experience, in football, just as in everyday life, when people show you respect and affection and do everything they can to make things easier for you, life is much happier, even when you face difficult moments. I must say that I have had more meetings with the Chairman, the President and the General Manager this week, than I had in 3 years at Newcastle. They haven’t just been work meetings, rather signs of respect in which we have been able to appreciate the differences and similarities in our cultures.

Well this paragraph really says it all. Rafa may be exaggerating a bit, but if he is, it is not by much. Rafa was not treated with respect by Mike Ashley. He was treated like expendable dirt which is how Ashley treats the fans of the club.

It does look like Rafa has moved on but may have a little anger left inside that is still eating at him. We really don’t blame him. He suffered from the same lack of communication and lies that the fans have had to endure for the past twelve years.

So Rafa has returned to writing on his blog. If the latest entry is anything to judge by, it should be interesting to follow.

Loads of jobs going @sjp. Lol i wonder if the staff have bailed too.

We need a blog saboteur to get a job and run amock, gathering info on fatty. Bring him down in his own home 🙂

Last year our award winning hospitality team pulled 159,883 pints, served 22,619 portions of chips, and popped open 9,601 bottles of champagne – and we can’t wait to do it again next season!

If you’re passionate, enthusiastic, and committed to providing the highest possible level of service, why not find out more on the roles we have available?

Jim Ratcliffe of Ineos? That Jim Ratcliffe? 18th richest person in the world Jim Ratcliffe, with a personal fortune of £15-£20M or so (haven’t checked recently)?

That Jim Ratcliffe is apparently buying NUFC ahead of the Bin Zayed Group?

Isn’t he notoriously one of the quietest, least publicity hungry, shyest businessmen in England? Haven’t we been down that route already?

I mean, I’d welcome it, but I can’t see it happening.

That said, he owns FC Lausanne in Switzerland. Anybody remember me mentioning a couple of nights ago that Ashley’s jet flew into Lausanne for 30 minutes before turning round and flying back to Luton? – I thought it may have had something to do with UEFA in Nyon, just down the road, but maybe not!

    Repost again – apologies

Here’s a funny thing to add to the mix. Ashley’s plane flew out from Berlin to Luton today, a return trip from yesterday.

On Tuesday the 2nd, it flew from Luton to Switzerland, somewhere around the Lausanne / Nyon area, stopped for just over an hour and flew straight back.

UEFA have their HQ in Nyon.

Is there some kind of UEFA paperwork which would have to be signed when transferring the deeds of a club?

How about this as a theory – BZG as rumoured were only ever fronting a bid for an unknown 3rd party. I was told that the FA were struggling to find the source of the funds, so perhaps the original buyer failed the Owners and Directors test because they couldn’t prove they were on the level.

Instead of giving up, BZG approached a 2nd potential backer with a deal agreed in principle with Ashley, most of the details drawn up and all that was needing to be completed was the Owners and Directors test. The 2nd backer they approached was Jim Ratcliffe, who has no problem tracing his fortune back, being a UK-based businessman and flies through the test.

Ratcliffe buys us, BZG earn their commission, Ashley gets to walk away with a wedge in his pocket and powerful new business allies in both the Middle East and the UK.

I know it’s likely bullsh!t, but Ineos also happens to have big concerns in Malaysia, whence flew the private jet to Newcastle via Abu Dhabi. Could Jim Ratcliffe have been out there when he was given the opportunity, flew to NUFC to have a look around, down to London to sort out the details of the deal then on to Lausanne courtesy of Ashley to handle business at that end?

Jim Ratcliffe’s purchase of OGC Nice football club for about €100m is close to completion as Britain’s richest man continues to expand his sporting empire. The founder of the Ineos petrochemicals giant has been in talks for some months about taking over the Ligue 1 side.

Ratcliffe has had to be patient in dealing with the Chinese-American ownership but a deal has been agreed. The billionaire is understood to be happy to back Patrick Vieira, the manager, who led the team to seventh in his first season at the club.

If Ratcliffe owns or is close to owning OGC Nice then we’re back to BZG or bust. You can’t own two clubs within UEFA due to conflict of interest.
