Will Newcastle United Sign Manchester United Youth Prospect?

Tribal Football have a report out that Manchester United youth player Mipo Odubeko will not sign a new contract to remain with the Red Devils.

The sixteen year old striker was called up to play for the Republic of Ireland U17 team in March. He is also eligible to play Nigeria internationally.

The report states that both Newcastle and Burnley are looking to sign the youngster if he does in fact leave Manchester United.

There is also interested from Dutch sides Feyenoord and Utrecht as well as Genoa in Italy.

The youth academy is in need of an injection of talent with only Sean Longstaff and Paul Dummett to break through in recent years.

We hope that Newcastle are monitoring all situations like the one of Mipo Odubeko and are ready if any of these highly touted youngsters become available.

Mikey – Give Truth a chance for once, please!
So the NEW OWNERS choice is Steve Bruce is it?
We’d be better approaching Fiona Bruce.

I used to kind of know Bruce, he lived near Knowle when he was the manager of Brum, he was a decent guy, met him in the Malt Shovel in Barston fairly regularly (his favourite pub) and we were the only two Geordies in there so would talk Newcastle stuff – never BCFC football.. Always struck me as a decent sort.

That said, if he takes the role he’s just an ashLIE stooge, he can’t be so blind as to see the total animosity from the fan base against him. He never struck me as University level, but he never struck me as thick either. Surely (Shirley) he must see it’s an impossible job – will he be bought? Who knows.

Can all you bloggers who truly believe a takeover is going to happen please tell me why they would want to takeover a Club with Steve Bruce as Manager.
Or is it all Fake News AGAIN?

We may as well welcome Pards back if all we are going to get is a puppet or a stooge. Rafa has well and truly warned off all the “serious” candidates, because he tells truth.

If the takeover doesn’t happen do you think BZG will explain what has happened?

Yep, Steve Bruce if appointed, points to a dismal future with Ashley staying. No incoming ownership group would start off with him. They would bring in somebody with a decent name at the highest levels. I definitely worry now that whatever happened between Ashley and BZG did not finish well. I hope I’m wrong and the takeover happens but the signs aren’t positive recently. Even the way the news came out recently from some reporter in the middle east and from strange tweets tells a story in itself I think. And it isn’t a positive one.

It’s a difficult time which is leading to infighting on here among many other places I’m sure. We need real news to clarify what is actually happening. And a decent manager of course. If we get that the club at least has a chance going into the new season.

Is it just me or are the club simply looking for a new manager and thats it. No takeover updates, no news.

This is what we’ve dealt with for years. Why is it any different now.

Rafas walks, mikes not bothered. We’ll get a new man and start the season.

@ Lovem or Hatem, I’m not sure they will. They are very publicity shy, but then again they’ve been made to look muppets if they don’t do the deal with the, quite obviously far superior intellect of “western business men”.

    I don’t think they will.

Weirdly I’m still holding on to the fact that someone ANYONE will buy us.

Lovem or Hatem and if he has a decent Geordie bone in him he won’t even consider it .
If everyone turns him down ,then that’s the way he gets driven out.
When Rafa stood up to him he knew that if he signed an extension to his contract Ashlie would take the Club off the market. Sadly the greedy man has no Plan B.

The mess we’re in certainly gives Muto and Gayle a chance to stand out. And Miggy of course. I can’t see them producing miracles. Rafa tried both of them and they were average at best at the Prem level. But that was mostly before Miggy arrived. Possibly he will make a big difference for them by opening things up with his pace?

Why do we all have a meltdown as soon as theres no official news?

Any positive rumours are rubbish, negative rumours are fact.

I think the takeover is still on. BZG have the funds (which will have been in escrow already by this stage). Delay is still FA, I would imagine signed off this week.

Any manager stories are absolute nonsense- media, and others, playing games and profiting from it.

I said a lot can happen between now and the Arsenal game.
Well, yeah that is still true.
However, I know this bugger quite well.

I think this is how it will go. Bruce or someone else of his ilk appointed. A stooge yes man.
A few signings. We will just about spend the Perez money if that.

Boycott. Yeah, the call for the Arsenal boycott will increase. I think I will join Hibbitt and Bobby in boycotting same.

But, I will go to the ground that day and walk about outside.
This is what I think I will see.
Lines of vacant looking folks lining up to enter the East Stand as if nothing has happened.

What will it take before everyone has had enough.

Ah well back to more interesting subjects. Egg drawings. Where did you do your training droppy? It was France wasn’t it? Under one of the great egg men? Vincent Van Egg? Eggbrandt? Eggward Hopper? And what’s next? Is there an egg series with a common theme coming out? Great Newcastle football managers of the past for example? A great striker series? I can’t wait…

Starting to see a few digs in here. It’s a shame since all fans and follows need to be on the same page. Picking at things you personally find too positive or too negative, or digging at people who gave a chance to a player who turned out to be rubbish is only going to be divisive. Try and be united.

would love to believe that as i’m sure we all would, but no buyer except possibly Kenyon who hasn’t got the funds is going to agree to the fat man getting free advertising and merchandise and i think that will always remain the sticking point.

Bruce is the final death knell. the people who knock a boycott never have any solutions themselves, but just love to be a martyr to continued misery. No they don’t have to. Everyone has a choice.

You’re right about Ashley’s involvement in club decisions. It’s zero and I’m convinced he just wants to offload the club. Crazy that he didn’t give Rafa the powers and a good budget, as he would have returned a profit and eventually a trophy. Another opportunity missed.

There comes a time when we have to make a stand , we all love the club but enough is enough, just take a look how we fared over the last 5 season’s 2014/15 , survived relegation last game(WestHam),2015/16 Relegated 2nd last game,2016/17, Won promotion back to the Prem, 2017/18, fighting relegation, survived,2018/19 , fighting relegation, survived,2019/20 ,We all know what’s coming,, go back even further, it’s not good reading. things are not going to improve as long as Ashley is here. It’s like putting your dog to sleep, you don’t want to do it but it has to be done, there will be great pain along the way but it is the only way we will shift Ashley.
