Peter Redding has sent out another tweet but this time in response to the messages he has been receiving from Newcastle United supporters.
This is what Peter has tweeted this morning.
I report on what is happening in Dubai and BZG. There is no update currently. The focus should be on comms from MA and NUFC. But thanks for all of your messages (most of them :))
— Peter Redding-Capital Radio UAE (@dubai_geordie) July 11, 2019
From this comment, we gather that the statement Peter gave on Monday from the Bin Zayed Group is the only one that is coming.
There were reports of a drafted statement from BZG and we had hoped that Peter’s earlier tweet was just a precursor to an official statement.
That does not appear to be the case and it looks like BZG do not have plans for any further statements at the moment.
The Hierarchy– doom and gloom
It is interesting that Redding does try to shift the focus for communication on the takeover to Mike Ashley and away from BZG.
We would have two takeaways from what Peter has tweeted.
First, it appears as though the Bin Zayed Group are very frustrated with Mike Ashley. Maybe they expected some sort of a response from him after Monday’s statement.
Second, if they are waiting for Mike Ashley to communicate and if any part of the next process hinges on him, this takeover may have in fact stalled.
Though with news this morning that Steve Bruce may be announced in the coming days as the next manager of the club, the likelihood of a takeover anytime soon was looking remote.
We still have nothing from the club on anything of significance. Nothing on the proposed takeover, no updates on the manager search, and no updates transfer meetings.
Nothing. So we will not hold our breath while waiting for anything from Mike Ashley.

SB won’t sign for less than 3 years anyway and I don’t think fat man has any intention of selling up voluntarily. We’ll have to “persuade” him !

Comment #86All Geordie want NUFC to be the best football club.
All Geordie know that NUFC will never be the best it can be with the current owner.
Therefore how can Steve Bruce accept the job, other than for self interest and in spite of all other Geordies.

Comment #89We shouldn’t forget when Rafa left we also lost 3 of his support team. If Bruce comes who will he bring in with him? Could also be the reason of the £5m Wednesday are asking in compensation.
For me Bruce will not be an interim manager and if he comes then Ashley remains in charge.
The idea of Pitch invasions to get games abandoned sounds good on the surface but with technology today those who do it will be identified and receive bans possibly up to life bans from attending matches. One day it will get better and then you won’t be able to enjoy the good times.
I just wish I could wake up from this nightmare

If Ashley chooses to sell now he will get what he want’s £350Mill , if we are relegated end of season and don’t make an mediate return to the Prem, then he will be to claw back £50Mill,don’t forget we don’t own SJP.

Comment #94We only have ourselves to blame. If we had seen past the fact that Bruce’s penned offerings “Striker” “Sweeper” and “Defender” are probably the 3 worst crime novels ever written and bought them in greater numbers – or at all, he may now be usurping Stephen Kingon gthe books made into films front rather than about to add to our misery.

I too have been looking at all this trying to work out what’s going on in Ashley’s head!
My only logical conclusion is this is him showing us fans who is boss, he is taking everything we love about the club to be replaced with stuff that will boil our pi55!

I also agree with you. Charnley just sits in the directors box and gets no chants aimed at him. I also believe he should have resigned a long time ago.
Maybe the few fans that do attend the Arsenal game should also direct some get out of our club chants at Charnley as well

Comment #109with big sam confirming an approach was made by the club last week it blows the takeover out of the water
1. the club have remained silent on the takeover and have clearly had no meaningful contact with bzg in quite some time. a poor way to behave in any business relationship
2. bzg statement through redding on monday is absolute hogwash and they are confirmed frauds

What more can anyone say.
BZG time wasters.
Weeks of optimism eradicated by the worst choice Management decision in living memory (apart form Joe Kinnear)
Its hard to believe how much damage this arrogant tw@t has done.
Sky will now run with this story and try and make it sound like Ashley has done us a favour.
Well he and they can F2ck off.

Comment #114I am trying to figure our MA’s logic. I assumed he wanted to sell – pickup around 300 million and walkaway. I think the problem is MA has decided if he sells he wants to keep the advertising rights (it gives Shite Direct massive free publicity). No intelligent buyer is ever going to agree so the club isn’t going to be sold. MA has had yet more free publicity with the fake sale.
MA probably thinks even if relegation happens then he can sell some of the big names and then buy Championship players to get us promoted again. He has done it before so what’s the problem!
The problem is it gives us fans absolutely no hope, no dream of ever creating a team to be proud of. My son has only been to one match and it was the dullest of dull matches – it was heartbreaking. MA simply doesn’t feel any necessity to communicate, or tell the truth (invest every penny), and doesn’t value style or entertainment – it’s balance sheet only. Nothing is going to change until the fans react and directly get MAs attention, such as protesting nearby his home, office, restaurants – so he realises while he screws up our lives it can be a two way street. I cannot think of a business man I despise so much – I have never figured out why rich people don’t just enjoy their life and why they feel untouchable and feel they can destroy people’s lives and hopes with impunity.
My own belief is you get what you deserve. In which case MA is going to have a misserable life.

You knuckle dragger. Who said anything about pay as you play? Welbeck has a better record than Rondon in the PL. Get him fit and with less travelling due to no European football he’d surely stand a better chance of remaining so.
Makes me laugh to see people turning their nose up at likes of Welbeck and Carroll. Both significantly better goals to minute record than Rondon in the PL. Welbeck in particular would be a good fit for us and Shelvey.
Carroll a goal every 244 mins in PL
Welbeck every 265
Rondon every 315.
On a free, knowing he isn’t going to get the 100k he was on at Arsenal, more like 60-80k he’d be a very good signing.
Grateful for what Rafa did, wish he was still here, but he obviously wanted Ashley to invest his own money in a bid to propel progress, coupled with the fat China cash all things considered he turned down a decent offer here and one which he surely could’ve challenged top 10 with throughout a season. That would have been progress, just not quick enough for him and seemingly others on here. Maybe pundits are correct and majority of Newcastle fans do think they have a divine right to be top 6. Can’t slowly build, must have it now! Rafa rejected a reasonable proposition because despite talk of projects he actually just wanted to spend his way to the sharp end as quickly as possible. With that not happening he thought sod it £12m a year will fill the void
