Poll On Steve Bruce As Local Journalists Verify Him As Likely Next Manager

Mark Douglas of the Chronicle has tweeted confirmation of earlier reports from the Telegraph that Steve Bruce’s appointment is very close and barring an unexpected turn, very likely.

This is what Mark Douglas has tweeted:

Keith Downie has also reported that colleague Richard Graves has seen Steve Bruce leaving Hillsborough this morning. Sheffield Wednesday staff and players reportedly have the day off today.

It is looking very much like Steve Bruce will be the next manager at Newcastle United. While this is extremely raw right now, we will put out a poll on this potential appointment.

We expect the response to be very much in the negative as this is quite a shock at the moment. We have gone with the question of supporting Steve Bruce rather than being happy with him as the choice.

Would You Support Steve Bruce As The Next Manager Of Newcastle United?

    Once we’re relegated
    As we are getting relegated
Jabba will chuck money at the problem and try to get back to the prem
    It’s what he usually does

It’s just he seems not to realise that this time he won’t have a decent manager, nobody’s touching us with a barge pole
And he wont have the crowd behind them either, infact he may find an utterly toxic crowd who have simply had enough

How many years of chucking money at getting us promoted do you think it will take for Jabba to give up ?

    My guess is 3

Look at the pictures of the squad training in China.
They all look as miserable as sin apart form Murphy and Colback who will now probably get first team places back as any decent player we have will leave soon.
This situation is as pathetic as Ashley and Charnley.

Lets face it Bruce can’t be blamed for being a bad manager as he won’t have any squad to manage.

    Genuinely not knocking Rafa…

But we might see a few home games where we have more than 35% possession.

That’s one target that isn’t hard to beat.

The other one is not topping the Prem for the most goals conceded from dead balls.

The above stat tells us that either our CB’s aren’t as good as we think or Rafa wasn’t the great defensive coach he was cracked up to be.

I’m sure like many others on here, I bump into players and coaching staff etc from the club from time to time, maybe at the petrol station, supermarket. Most recently Peter Pan, few years ago Steve Stone. 10 years ago I’d at least have said hello, wish them well etc. but not now, not for years now. Taking Ashley’s £££’s lost them my respect. I don’t say a thing.

Bruce will be like this to me now, paid to do a job and taking Ashley’s money.

I do not shop at any Ashley outlet, haven’t for years. I cannot support his running of our club. I really wish I could get behind what was once a club to be proud of, a club of ambition, what was once our club.

I must say though, I still support current players. To me that is a different situation. They do have a choice where to play of course but such short careers with sometimes so few opportunities may mean they play where they have to and maybe not where they’d like to. If they try 100% they deserve our support imho.

What is your evidence for Ashley taking money out of the club? You keep repeating yourself.

This is a link to Mash Holding’s accounts up to 2018:

    https://beta.companieshouse.gov.uk/company/06861426/filing-history/MzIyNjc1NjQ4MGFkaXF6a2N4/document?format=pdf&download=0

This is a legal document audited by Grant Thornton. Grant Thornton are in the business of auditing companies. Their whole existence depends on them being honest. The idea of filing a set of company accounts with a false statement in them is ludicrous (even for Mike Ashley).

Transferring assets or paying monies by “secret” would attract HMRC, in particular, for avoidance of VAT. Being found guilty of avoiding VAT by selling something worth something for £0 would be fraud and could find the fraudster in Jail. (Guys start looking and tell HMRC).

Bottom line is a new owner will have similar revenue/turnover issues and we could therefore expect similar transfer activity (Unless an owner invests more money over and above buying the club).

t would be really good if you (and others) read what it says on page 1 of the accounts and understand how stupid most of the comment on this blog is.

The helicopter flight stuff is great.

The other thing is a lot of the time we slag off people who we don’t know or belittle them for one reason or another. Respect starts with respecting yourself. I would prefer to be associated with a group who were intelligent, well informed and fair in judgement of other human beings. Being a fan of NUFC is not an option but it would be great if some of my fellow supporters moved over to a more measured stance.

I am very disappointed that, today, we do not have UAE owners. However, its quite good that we won’t have to cringe at the racist humour some of our group would bungle out… because there are few, if any, willing to tell people where the line is and how it is not acceptable to cross it.

Bills-Son why bring those stats up? do you seriously think Bruce is a good appointment for NUFC? Do you think Ashley/Charnley have done well this summer? from wanting the take over to happen you have reverted to blaming everyone apart from Ashley, you now diverting blame onto Rafa

You have got to feel for the players especially the younger element going from Rafa to Bruce is a huge car crash.

I wonder how the 18% think that Bruce will be a good choice? It’s just crazy!

Embarrassed by this blog – look at the accounts for Leicester / Southampton or other mid table clubs and you’ll see that in terms of turnover we’re achieving the same sort of results (or better) as them.

I’ve yet to see a compelling reason why this level of income isn’t matched by an equivalent level of spending to our competitors.

We are not a poor club, yet we have a deep seated aversion to backing a good manager with a meaningful transfer budget. It isn’t strange that we fans are querying why this is.

I am not falling for anything. I know what happens if HMRC want to go though your company accounts if they want. (They do not need an excuse). If you are found to be fraudulently moving money about or misrepresenting sums, you go to jail. No Premier League or FA rules just plain old Law of the land.
