Does Steve Nickson Already Have Targets Lined Up And Ready?

North-East correspondent Keith Downie has asserted that he has a feeling Newcastle have some transfer deals already lined up and waiting.

This is what Keith has written for Sky Sports:

The scouting team and Steve Nixon, the head of recruitment, have been working away in the background and my feeling is there are probably a couple of deals already lined up from when Rafa was still in charge.

It will be imperative that Newcastle act quickly on transfers whenever the next manager is announced, whether it is Steve Bruce or not.

Every other club have signed at least one player, with Aston Villa ready to announce their eighth signing of the summer in Manchester City’s Douglas Luiz.

Newcastle are woefully behind and as we saw in the announced squad for the preseason tour, reinforcements are needed in many key areas.

Steve Nickson– targets identified and waiting?

We hope that targets have already been identified, as Keith believes, and at least some contact has been made.

Keith Downie seems to think they do have deals lined up from when Rafa was in charge.

While it doesn’t seem to matter who the manager is at Newcastle in terms of who the club identifies as their targets, it will matter to the targets themselves.

We can’t help but feel it is going to be very hard for Newcastle to attract many quality players this summer without Rafa at the helm.

While we do believe the new manager will have money to spend, the combination of Charnley’s plodding approach and the chaos of this summer could hinder the club’s ability to get transfers over the line.

Liverpool didn’t want to sell …end of.

Who would you believe out of Ashley who has allegedly been trying 7 times previously to sell, but can ”never get it over the line or BZG. I am sure Ashley keeps moving the goal posts and makes it virtually impossible for any takeover and then always blames the would be buyer. This has always been his M.O.

Ash has never had the ”best interests of the club at heart,” quite blatantly the opposite and Rafa was threatening the status quo of endless mediocrity.

Bruce is just another 2 fingered salute to the fans and I’m sure there is more to follow. Ash wouldn’t accede to Rafa’s modest requests but will probably give a journeyman never wasser like Bruce a similar amount to McLaren to stave off relegation.

These Brit dinosaur managers have barely won a thing between them in all their years combined. With Ashley we can only surmise where all the money has gone.

Can you get a divorce from a football club? I’m not in love any more and I can claim grounds for neglect, mental cruelty and unreasonable behaviour.

JohnReese from previous, you’re bang on mate. It’s irresponsible of them to play with folks’ emotions like this. This entire Summer has been a shitshow of immense proportions in terms of not knowing what to believe and who.

Mind you, the all the journos are doing is filling the gaping vacuum left by the lack of information coming from the one place where we could all trust it – the club itself.

The Bruce appointment probably was imminent yesterday to be fair, until they found out about the five million quid compensation they would have to pay, and that’s just for Bruce. He wants to bring his two assistants with him and they’ll probably have separate compensation clauses as well.

Whoever is brought in will not be the Manager but just a coach at best with no decision making authority. Sadly Bruce isn’t even a decent coach if indeed he is the one to finally accept after the other 34 have already turned Ashlie down. The whole thing is still somewhat Toxic – Ash !!

deals lined up from when Rafa was in charge?

Rafa was the key selling point there, can’t see those players showing the same enthusiasm in joining us as they would have if Rafa was still in charge.

What difference does it make if nickson has signings lined up what good player is going to want play under bruce or even come to this club. its a waste of time. The only pulling power we had was rafa and hes gone. We need to stick to the plan and thats boycott even if we sign neymar we cant be fooled again. The goal is to get rid of ashley

I don’t give a fk anymore what they do. Because we all know it either won’t be enough or the total wrong decision. Or probably nothing at all.
It’s MA pocket it will affect if we’re relegated not mine.
I wouldn’t have a season ticket given until the fat Controller has gone.

Can’t get my head round re the statement that said Rafa was not wanted by the new owners, can anyone find the said statement, who made that statement, was it Ashley.

We should all demand where and who wrote this article, where did it came from and bombard the guy until we hear the truth.

The way Rafa was treated was disgusting.

Can we all stop with this SJh sainthood thing .
Yes he did some amazing things at nufc and got us out of the grips of another band of shitesters .
But he also left us with shepherd ( after cashing in handsomely) and in a vulnerable position which ashlie was all too happy to exploit .
Ask anyone who had dealings with Cameron hall developments in the 1980s and the sub contractors involved in the metro centre project .
Not many of those had a good word for him even when he was the man bringing the good times back .
He was a successful business man but above that an opportunist and at times one without scruples or a care for anyone who stood in the way of his company .

All of this relates back to the fact Mike Ashley lost 150 million in a failed takeover of debenhams and he has to get that money back asap. So he is milking out of nufc what happens to the 6 million a season he will be saving on Rafa’s salary? what happens to the Perez transfer cash? the Longstaff sale money? the 100 million plus TV money from the PL? Everything nufc generated always goes to cover costs/losses in his other business endeavors.

Mike Ashley was never selling NUFC, I mean what football club owner to do we know of has a private PR company at the other end of the phone? why would a football club owner need one? Unless he is the lowest, dirtiest piece of scum to walk the earth. The fit and proper owners test the PL conduct is the biggest joke ever. Mike Ashley is not capable of owning a dog, let alone a football club. Can you imagine his poor wife and children what they put up with having him around, he is a waste of life.

Think it was the sources close to Ashley line trotted out in the sun.
It two comes down to either two simple things
1 yes BZG had the money and were far down the track to make such a all of Ashley .
2 BZG didn’t have the readies or the amount ash was no demanding and had said no such thing

Can only be two scenarios .
It it really is that simple
Ashlie had the offer on the table and chose not to sell
Or ashlie is a lying piece of shit
Either way he doesn’t come out of it well
However the next fans forum meeting will avoid these questions and replace them with such had nosed questions as
    1. Do we have a new five year plan to establish us as a regular explain team
    2. Are there any plans to many even look at a striker in January or are the board happy with josalu record of one goal in the league cup?

Seems like saying BZG couldn’t show proof of funds is a great way of deflecting the blame away from Ashley to BZG.

Quite easy for KBA to pass this unverified piece of info to journalists who will accept it as proof.

It’s a fallacy that Sheik Khalid hasn’t got shed loads of personal wealth . Perhaps the problem is he is not prepared to pledge sufficient to BZG. After all his cousin Mansour has PERSONALLY bank rolled Man City. There is a big fundamental difference. There will be loads of conditions Ashlie has laid down such those toxic ash advertising boards, the Perez money, the TV money, the brass for finishing 13th. He’ll be wanting all that on top of the £350/400M and if he doesn’t get it. He will sell Longstaff, Almiron , Schar, Lascelles, Lejeune etc etc till he gets his pound of flesh
