Leeds United After Newcastle Goalkeeper With One Year Left On Contract

A report in Football Insider says that Leeds United are looking at bringing in Karl Darlow this summer.

Pete O’Rourke writes about the interest:

A Leeds source has told Football Insider that manager Marcelo Bielsa and director of football Victor Orta have drawn up a shortlist of goalkeeping targets and Darlow’s name features highly in it.

The report says that Leeds would bring in Darlow if they can sell Kiko Casilla who they brought in on a free from Real Madrid in January. They reportedly are looking to offload the Spanish keeper this summer even though he was their number one since he arrived at the club.

Karl Darlow was recently mentioned as being a target of Blackburn but that has since been denied by Blackburn boss Tony Mowbray.

With just one year remaining on his contract, we would expect Newcastle to move Karl this summer. Though if the new manager really rates him, he could end with a new contract. At just 28 years old, he still a long career ahead of him.

Newcastle have recently been linked with two Serie A goalkeepers in Juventus’s Mattia Perin and Lazio’s Thomas Strakosha. While Strakosha would likely be out of Newcastle’s price range, Perin is a less expensive alternative who would be an upgrade to Darlow and be able to push Martin Dubravka.

Don’t be fooled by our finishing position.

With your “canny squad” Rafa kept us up, that’s what he did, kept us up. Didn’t challenge for anything and never truly looked safe from the drop. One of the the best managers in the world…. Did ALL he could with what we had and that was what he did.

How about our canny squad under Bruce?

How do you think we will do?

I’m not sure you would think they’re so canny then.

Don’t be dragged in to the MA machine.

Its ok lads looks like we are planning for the future – Coventry City midfielder Tom Bayliss is latest player linked – 1) cos he has a £3M release clause and Jabba cnat miss a bargain and 2) he has experience of the league we will be in soon!

P.S. is he the son of the Trevor – the man responsible for the wind-up radio – AAAARGH Wind-Up – says it all.

I hope attendances at SJP slump big time, just to prove a point big Time to Ash and the general public. Unfortunately after the dust has settled and with a couple of wins people will start missing their football and return.

Rafa gave us hope, looks like the pards/Carver era is set to return.
I cirtainly don’t want us to fail, maybe a few quality signings may lift spirits.

Yes mate..Enough was enough for me,I saw the Shite storm coming.I suppose if you live in the area it is harder to give up than us that live hundreds of miles away but at least we are coming to the same conclusion now.
The football at times last season was dire and a
The atmosphere was none existent..Embarrassingly so that we had to sit and listen to the away fans taking the p@ss out of us.The trouble is Rafa was working miracles with what he had at his disposal and has since admitted that.
Who ever comes in in the mould of a bruce and the current crop of players is only going in one direction,And that’s Relegation

Just to make clear to the gullible and deluded… theres no f…king take over, there will be minimum spend, we will end up with a $hat failed dinosaur manager, tapeworm has no intention of leaving and we are heading for relegation… bookies are rarely wrong.

I’m certain that this must have been said already but let’s assume that BZG have managed to scrape together the necessary funds to buy the club (if indeed they are struggling and aren’t awash with cash) what do they then use to buy all of these Marque signings such as Mbappe.

Would we be any better off as a club or is it another bunch of owners who are a waste of time.

It seems to me there’s no white knight on the horizon and wonder if there ever will be for the club.

Good to see the yunguns going on the trip but why isn’t Sorensen or Tourre or even Charman, shirley it would be an ideal time to get them integrated with the team. Presumably Fernandez is still not fully fit!

I may be in a minority but I always liked Bruce.
He is more of a Geordie than Brian Robson or Bobby Charlton

All I ever saw in Perez was a player working his balls off for the team until we signed Almiron when he was then able to really express himself and score a shed load of goals, sorry to see him go but we got a good deal for him and I doubt if his heart was in the team anymore.

    Dear Alex Bruce
Please tell your Dad the good ship Toon has sailed.
It’s floundering off shore in Ashley’s bank accounts and the Excise men or HMRC are waiting on the beach.
Demelza the tea lady jumped ship before she sailed on this fateful voyage.
The Coastguard have been alerted but it looks like all will be lost.
Only hope now is salvage specialists BZG but even they are floundering.
Sheffield is a good city with good folk.
Tell your Dad to stay there for the good of his health and his sanity.
If he does that we will be forever grateful.

Rafa could’ve gone to China 2 years ago but wanted to try and make something of the biggest under achieving football club in the world.
Anyway it’s not by accident that world class managers who have won every honour in the game, get offered huge contracts.
People like you fckin deserve to have Ashley as your owner you daft prick!
