Report – Key Newcastle Signings Lined Up Once New Manager Appointed

Pete Graves of Sky Sports is reporting some good news today for Newcastle fans – the audacity of it!

But seriously, he says that some key signings have already been lined up by Newcastle (presumably Steve Nickson) and once we have a manager in – those players will be signed.

These will be some of the players our Head of Recruitment Steve Nickson has been scouting during the season.

Nickson would have agreed to go after some of these players before Rafa left the club at the end of June, through frustration at the complete lack of ambition of owner Mike Ashley.

Steve Bruce – Newcastle still need to agree with Owls on compensation

Here’s what Pete Graves has tweeted:

In a report Neil put out earlier today Keith Downie of Sky Sports also reported that Newcastle had a few signings already lined up and they were waiting for the new manager coming in.

In 2015 the hierarchy signed players before Steve McClaren was appointed, and he had no say in the matter.

Whether Nickson is waiting specifically for the new manager coming in – we will have to wait to see – but there are now only 26 days left in the summer transfer window.

We also need to get players to leave the club or sent out on loan, who are surplus to requirements.

But it’s good to hear that Steve Nickson, who was very highly regarded by Rafa, has been working away in the background on some transfers; we also have to remember Steve was the one who went to Atlanta in January to help get the deal for Miguel Almiron finally over the line.

The Newcastle squad has been announced for the Premier League Asia Trophy, and they leave tomorrow for China.

It looks like Neil Redfearn and Ben Dawson may have to lead the squad in China.

If we do have some good signings lined up that would be good news, but we need a talented manager (head coach?) in – and we don’t know if Newcastle are willing to pay the £5M release clause for Steve Bruce.

That’s the status at the moment, and it could even fall through if Sheffield Wednesday don’t lower the compensation they want for Bruce.

To pay £5M for a Championship manager to replace the world-class and highly popular Rafa Benitez seems completely daft.

But this is Newcastle United and Ashley is still the owner – so yes – it is daft.

And normal for Mike Ashley.

Comments welcome.

So the manager won’t be choosing the team at all ?
I’m sure that will encourage anyone

Once Mourinho is revealed in China he has 7 star signings lined up that he has scouted with his new team.

I read it on the internet this afternoon so it must be right.

I wrote it myself like but it’s still more credible than anything I’ve read so far on Sky Sports Twitter!!

If we bring any players in then the transfer embargo has been lifted meaning the deal is officially off!

I’m sure there will be a few new faces through the door, will they be top quality, I doubt it. Will we survive, not sure.
Will Brucey have us playing to our best ability?
Rafa will be a miss that’s for sure.

Season ticket renewals must be low. So sky is paid to spout this shi*. The only Newcastle team doing business in the transfer window is our women’s team. Let that sink.

Mindshaft – If Ashley was desperate to sell he’d accept what he’s invested in the club, about 260 million would give him every penny back – he’s so desperate he wants a 90 million profit plus continued free advertising plus god knows what else.

If you wanted to move house, but were not in any financial difficulty, would you sell your house for £260,000 which would be what you bought it for + what you’d spent on it…

When in today’s market it was worth £350,000.

No? Yep, I didn’t think so.

Ashley wants to sell, but he’s not desperate.

    It’s as simple as that.

Always toon mate. My brother is a wolves fan but me always the toon since I was 10. I watched Italia 90 for mad on footy. Uncle moved to Durham and started going to matches when I was up. He took me to my first game there and I was hooked ever since. Absolutely was blown away. I watched I think Plymouth Argyle and we won 2-0. Think Quinny scored. Been on the roller coaster ever since. My lad and daughter are toon fans also. I keep telling him theres no shame in saving himself from heartache and support Wolves where he is from but he won’t have it.

Thanks for your kind words.. All Newcastle United supporters do is handle the suffering that our owner causes us ..Wheres the Joy ? There is none.

He actually detests us but takes our money .

Wor kid has given his box up . Local well known people I know have given up the season tickets .

St James park will now take a massive dip in attendances but Ashley will distribute tickets around the corporate members who are only there to eat and get pissed (jolly up) corporate members families, and students .

Ashley will paper the house To try make it look like we support him in his seriously bad Malicious way he dictates the running of this once great football club .

    It’s gone.

Re your cruise -If you get invited to the Captains table for a meal — it would be appropriate to follow maritime etiquette and wear a dinner jacket.

It would not be correct to wear your Sports Direct gold lama shell suit ( a la Jimmy Saville) and all your gold chains.

No need to thank me for this tip. Enjoy your cruise.

“Also interesting Sky say BZG haven’t shown proof of funds”

It’s also interesting Ashley hasn’t been quoted saying” BZG haven’t shown proof of funds”

One can be taken as hearsay the other is taken as fact

Suggest you read up on the frog’s link previous thread @45 on PR and educate yourself.
