Sky Sports Claims BZG Don’t Have Funds To Buy Newcastle

Keith Downie with Sky Sports has followed up on his understanding of the current state of the Bin Zayed Group’s attempted takeover of Newcastle.

This is what Keith has written about why there has been no breakthrough on the deal:

What I will say, though, is that I have serious reservations about the proposed Bin Zayed group takeover.

It’s my understanding that, despite their claims, they have still not submitted proof of funds.

They say they have submitted all of the paperwork, but that’s not what I’m hearing.

The word I’m getting from a number of sources is that they don’t have the money to buy the club.

I do think their interest is genuine and there have been talks, but I think the reality is that they don’t have the funds to complete the takeover.

It was Keith Downie who questioned Peter Redding’s statement from BZG earlier this week. He called into question not only Peter’s credibility but also that of BZG.

Yesterday, Sun reporter Justin Allen stood by his reporting from May 26th when he broke the deal.

He has always maintained that the deal was nearing completion and thus refutes what Keith Downie is reporting.

Here is a tweet from June 3 in which Allen furthers his claims of a deal being practically complete.

We just don’t know who is correct at this point until more information comes to light. What we do know at this point is that Mike Ashley is still doing damage to our club.

It will be interesting to see what kind of a contract Steve Bruce will be on if he is announced as expected.

If he is on a one-year rolling contract like the one he is on now with Sheffield Wednesday, then there may still be hope.

However, if he is given a three to four-year deal then it’s not looking good.

We half expect him to be given the Alan Pardew special, to be honest.

Mindshaft the trouble with that thinking though is HOW FAR DID THEY ACTUALLY GET. Do u not realise none of us know how far they got, you are just presuming they got to such and such a stage and then using that as evidence to say it has to be bullsht. Which is just ridiculous think about it.

One of our most beloved owners who would be one of the very few with access to information about the club sir john hall came out and said ashley wasnt lying when he said he hasn’t seen proof of funds. Sjh would legally be allowed to know because he us still on the board and he also get a small percentage of the future sale of Newcastle.

God can ye not for once see what’s staring you in the face. Bzg are full of it. We know for a fact their liverpool bid fell through last year why??? BECAUSE THEY COULDN’T SHOW PROOF OF FUNDS THEIR EITHER.

    This is a change.
Someone in the mainstream media essentially calling BZG and their associates a set of time wasters.
We have been told they are big on their reputation etc etc.

Surely they will respond to this.

Dont they need ro show proof of funds quite early in the process? Ifso, why has it taken so long for it to come out?

Was Ashley happy to let us believe there was a chance of a takeover ?

    Ulterior motives??

Mark we dont actually know that for sure is a requirment. Also we dont really know how far along their bid even came. Everything is pointing towards them being the liars this time.

Ashley would never come out and say they are tine wasters because as long as he can keep prooke believing there is a takeover it runs the clock down on the transfer window which is what he wants, regardless of a takeover

Anyone have a idea how money from perez will be paid? Is it as it is in spain? As in the full amount paid in full up front, when paying a buyout clause.

I agree with Stuart Pearce on this one!

“David Moyes would have been a better fit for the Newcastle United job than Steve Bruce, according to Stuart Pearce”

The Sheffield Wednesday manager appears to be on the cusp of being announced as the new boss on Tyneside, as reported by The Sun, but former Toon defender Pearce has admitted that he is shocked Moyes was not given a chance at St. James’ Park.

Speaking on talkSPORT, he said: “I’m astounded.

“Whilst I think Brucey is a good suit for the club, I also think Dave might have been a slightly better fit actually.”

David Moyes is just as bad as Steve Bruce. Why would people prefer that ex Mackem manager instead of another ex Mackem manager is beyond me.

NUFC is dying a slow and terrible death and it’s all because of that big fat, greasy, greedy owner that has been a disaster since day 1! Twelve years of hurt and it doesn’t seem like ending anytime soon. How depressing this all is.

    On BZG’s bid…

Where dod Justin Allen get his info from?

Not NUFC, not from the FA… but from BZG.

BZG might well of signed NDA’s, received heads of terms etc., all of which are normal processes in deals of this sort.

BUT… as far as I am aware the FA won’t do a fit and proper test without proof of funds, for obvious reasons.

Much as I don’t believe everything the Chron says they have been consistent from the start that NUFC never received that proof and I reckon that came from a respected source at the club.

Most of us, including me, chose to ignore that as we wanted to believe the takeover was on and just days away.

Sadly, it seems the Chron were right all along.

This doesn’t make any sense whatsoever. Wanna know why?
    1. They tried buying Liverpool for 2 billion a few years ago. Maybe they didn’t have 2 billion, but surely they must’ve had at least half to even try?
    2. Successful Arabs and Muslims are not liars. When they say thay have it, they have it. The Britist reporters are a bunch of liars. Most of the news we read from the UK regarding NUFC are bollocks, especially now that there’s a lot surrounding takeover, manager situation, transfers and other rumors.

I’m just questioning why Ashlie/ Cashly would run even himself to the ground? He’s even playing with his moneybag, the most valuable thing he has. Doesn’t he care anything about reputation by the way? his name is starting to stink all over the UK and rest of the world. I think he want out asap and I also believe they have been working diligently together to make it happen.

Then, of couse the big question is: where is it stopping up? why is it not happening? is it with Premier League?

If anyone was serious about buying the club it would need to be done by end June at latest to allow time to sort their manager and squad. Any later and you are putting your investment at risk with a relegation. They may come back in mid season if we are looking safe but then we get stuck in this permanent Groundhog Day and Ashley can keep dangling a sale to tempt us back in. We risk being stuck with him for ever! As he doesn’t communicate to us regarding his true intentions on a sale we have no option other than to stop backing the manager and team. We have to bring the club down to the point he has to sell, whether that be PL or League 1. May take 5 years but at least we will be taking action to get rid of him.

All of this relates back to the fact Mike Ashley lost 150 million in a failed takeover of debenhams and he has to get that money back asap. So he is milking out of nufc what happens to the 6 million a season he will be saving on Rafa’s salary? what happens to the Perez transfer cash? the Longstaff sale money? the 100 million plus TV money from the PL? Everything nufc generated always goes to cover costs/losses in his other business endeavors.

Mike Ashley was never selling NUFC, I mean what football club owner to do we know of has a private PR company at the other end of the phone? why would a football club owner need one? Unless he is the lowest, dirtiest piece of scum to walk the earth. The fit and proper owners test the PL conduct is the biggest joke ever. Mike Ashley is not capable of owning a dog, let alone a football club. Can you imagine his poor wife and children what they put up with having him around, he is a waste of life.

This bit of contentious information about BZG by Keith Downie should be amplified massively.

Amplifying it may bring a response by BZG. In turn BZG’s response, could bring out more game playing information about Mike Ashley… Surely BZG a company that has built its reputation since 1988, will not like the Ashley backed slur by Downie.

    Is this a good idea?

Spam all his companies with fake inquiries, drag the processes out if they answer. Anyone knows hackers that can actually enter his systems? that would be even more effective.

This guy deserves something like this tbh. Honestly I thought you Brits were crazy enough to just kill him. That’s what you did to all the other people in this world.

Have the horrible feeling this farce has all been orchestrated by the fat slug, he would love to have said a long time ago that the takeover was a fake but if he did he would have had to spend money & couldn’t blame the Arabs for getting rid of Rafa. Now there is no time for signing new players & all he can get for a manager is a second rate yes man. More importantly he gets to keep his fat paws on his money
