Fans Could Lodge Official Letter Of Complaint To FA And Premier League About Ashley – To Gain National Attention

Most fans have realized that the only way back to greatness for Newcastle United FC starts with one crucial step – we need to get rid of owner Mike Ashley.

Surely what he has done since our last game on May 12th shows clearly he has no intention of Newcastle having a top team and he has forced Rafa Benitez out of the club.

Which other Premier League club wouldn’t have given Rafa what he needed to make Newcastle great again?

Not many.

But Ashley wanted to retain control of the transfers and other things – in spite of his singular lack of success over 12 painful years, and so it was goodbye to Benitez.

And just for good measure – after Ayoze Perez had his best season ever for Newcastle scoring 13 goals last term – Ashley has sold him for £30M to Leicester City who will be a club we expected to be fighting next season for a top-eight place.

No such ambitions now.

Ashley has had the club lurching from one catastrophe to another in the 12 long and painful years he has driven Newcastle down to being a very ordinary club with a very mediocre team.

And the owner has not signed a new manager yet – and yet the season starts in four weeks – and it’s also embarrassing that two of our U23 coaches will have to lead the team in the Premier League Asia Cup Trophy in the coming week with two fixtures – one on Wednesday and one on Saturday.

In a summer transfer window which we initially thought would be one of the best for Newcastle in many years, the club is yet to sign one new player.

In fact, a number of our top management choices turned down the job because of Mike Ashley.

And it didn’t take Rafa to tell anyone that Ashley has no ambitions for Newcastle other than to piggyback on top of the world-wide coverage of our home games and advertise Sports Direct to the fullest extent possible.

There are about one million Sports Direct signs at Newcastle – it’s a travesty to have the famous St. James’ Park wrapped in the robes of a company that has such a poor name in the retail industry.

We play six top-six teams in the first 9 league games of the coming season, and after that, we could well be in the bottom three.

Maybe some of the Newcastle fans groups can get together and write an official letter of complaint about the owner,  both to the Premier League and to the FA.

After all, what Ashley has done at Newcastle is the opposite of what the fans want; he’s never acted with the best intentions of the club.

We want Newcastle to become a top-six club again, and Mike Ashley has no plans to do that – it would cost too much money?

He’s not thinking of the club at all – he thinks only of Sports Direct and using Newcastle United as a global billboard for his company.

This is not what owners should be doing.

He even seems to be deliberately taking actions that will kill off any ambitions Newcastle fans have left – after so many disappointments in his long tenure and especially since we hammered Fulham 4-0 on May 12th.

It must stop – and we must bring it to the national attention of those responsible for the running of Premier League clubs.

And when was the last time he attended a Newcastle game – how many games has he attended in the previous two seasons?

This is precisely what shouldn’t be allowed to happen to football clubs – be used merely as a pawn to advertise the owner’s other company.

That’s especially true when a club with the stature and rich history of Newcastle United is the club that’s being used in this way.

The possible adverse effect of an official complaint is that Ashley is so mean, selfish, and spiteful that he could attempt to make it even worse for the fans this summer.

That would be difficult but possible.

We need to do things to bring this state of affairs to national attention; then maybe someone will come in and buy Newcastle quickly – and then we’ll have renewed life in the football club.

Comments welcome.

It’s a joke, a nightmare of a situation. So much passion has been dismantled by this rodent. No offence Steve, please dont join the club, we need to force Ashley out, as I have no doubt that he is trying to screw every potential buyer. We need to make the club uninhabitable for him so he needs to sell.

    Honestly…..

Sending a letter to the FA to complain that a club in the Prem with no debt other than loans to the owner needs to have its ownership investigated.

Talk about making us a laughing stock.

    You couldn’t make it up.

A couple of things stick in my mind about the “constitution” of the Premier League.

First, I thought every club was supposed to be seen to be competitive.

Second, if a certain number of clubs vote against a clubs membership they can be removed.

Of course I might be wrong. Can anyone enlighten me.

So what does Ashley expect Sheffield Wednesday to do? Give him a cheap deal on a mediocre manager? Hahahahaha, why should they agree to that Mikey? They have a contract with him. He’s their manager. Move on fool.

Well I guess now Bruce has confirmed there has been talks thats the final nail in the coffin for the optimists of the takeover who was hoping Bruce was just a red herring, and so much for people thinking Bruce might of rejected us, he is just waiting for the clubs to sort it, well I did actualy kind of like Steve Bruce, not anymore and its actualy nothing to do with his managerial ability, I would Give him a chance if we had a different owner…I see him taking the job as Selfish and stupid on His part…fans will never take to you, you will soon tire of being Ashley’s whipping boy.

I will have no sympathy for you Bruce because you know exactly what you are walking yourself into, Newcastle fan my arse…all for your own gain which I can assure you will not end well, enjoy the wage while it lasts Bruce.

    Ed,

I’ve got to say for an obviously intelligent man that is just about the most ridiculous, and playing to the baying crowd, post you’ve ever made.

You know as well as I do that there is not a chance in hell that the FA would take a blind bit of notice of any such letter.

Other than to pass it round the office for everyone to have a right larrrrrffffffffffff at us.

I hope its written by someone with a brain.

There are laws against deliberate mis management of a company. That applies to the best interests of the company itself and any of its consumer base.

There are also rules within the fa about making sure you attempt to be competitive on the pitch.

There are clearly grounds to say that some of these laws and rules have been broken by Ashley.

    And Ed…

    Seriously….

Can you tell me when this period of ‘greatness’ was.

Winning the Fairs Cup in 1969 but nowt since?

Three FA Cups in 5 years in the early 1950’s but never since?

Winning the league in 1927 but never since?

Even KK and SBR, as good as those years were they can’t be classed as ‘greatness’…

    We won nowt then either.

    So come on Ed….

When was the greatness you refer to.

    Simple question.

The FA are probably wishing Ashley would disappear but unless he’s arrested for murder I can’t see them doing anything. A bunch of weak kneed wimps. Boycott the club until Ashley leaves. It may take a while now as he has probably knackered the latest potential takeover.

A Supporter Liaison Officer (SLO) is employed by a club as a point of contact for fans. They help to communicate fans’ opinions and ideas to club staff, and vice versa, often through supporter meetings and events. Contact a club to get in touch with an SLO, or email supporters@premierleague.com for further assistance.

Despite our run in last week, I completely agree about contacting the fa, and will compose my e-mail later. Mine will focus on the Newcastle in general, and the premiership as a product, as I feel that those are the areas where Ashley is breaking their rules.

I hope NUST have an actual plan going forward. I know they eventually want the supporters led by them to buy the club but I don’t see how unless money pours in like a waterfall. Why spend so much time pursuing Bruce unless many have turned them down. It seems likely. Truly disastrous this time Ashley. You’ve not a clue have you? Sell up loser.

Glad you find it amusing but the EPL and other sponsors don’t pump in money specifically to promote the owner’s business.
The money should be invested in the game for players and improve facilities for the fans. This is a separate issue from running a club in profit.
I’m sure there is a case to answer here!

    Ed,
As I said a few threads back, what exactly do you think we are complaining about?

Whilst fans are rightly upset regarding Ashley, and want him out, there is not a single argent that couldn’t be dismissed instantly when it comes to a 3rd party, unemotional view of the club.

We are in the Prem and financially stable. Look at the final league table before Ashley took control, we finished behind Bolton, Blackburn and Portsmouth that season. There’s examples of where owners could seriously questioned.

He is ruining our club for us fans, but he is in no way going to be disciplined by the FA or Prem for any of the points you make above.
