Newcastle Target Has Been Put Up For Sale And Priced At €15m

Inside Futbol have a report claiming that new AC Milan manager Marco Giampaolo has put Uruguayan left-back up for sale for €15m.

Newcastle have been linked with the player since this past January as a reinforcement for the troublesome left back slot. The latest link to the player was just three weeks ago.

Back in January, Calcio Mercato had come out and claimed that Laxalt was not too impressed with Newcastle. Newcastle were third bottom at the time.

We are pretty sure his impression of Newcastle has not improved much since them.

Laxalt made his big move to AC Milan just this past summer for €17m. He managed only 6 starts for I Rossoneri while starting 32 games the season before at Genoa.

Diego Laxalt– available for reasonable fee

The player has been reluctant to move so far as he seemingly wants to stay and fight for his place at Milan. He may have been hoping the new coach would give him an opportunity, much like some of our current crop of players will be hoping.

However, the new coach has put him up for sale so he may now be resigned to leaving.

Last season did not go well for Diego under then manager Gennaro Gattuso, who is still available and was loosely linked to Newcastle in May.

It was always an unlikely link because Gattuso is a resolute and fiery individual and someone that Ashley would find hard to manipulate.

We are not too sure on this player now that Rafa is gone and he seems a bit lukewarm about Newcastle as well.

There is also news today that Torino have started negotiations for the player. So this is most likely another target that can be crossed off the list.

Looks like some lovely bloke tried confronting Bruce at the Wednesday game today and got booed by his own supporters, so it looks like Steve has still got the majority of fans wanting him to stay.

I just sent this to the Premier League and the FA:

    Hello,

I’m writing you today to complain about the sorry state of affairs at my beloved football club Newcastle United.

Newcastle United is a proud football club, with a great history and a fanatical fanbase. Not only is Newcastle United very important to the the most dedicated and loyal football club supporters in the country, but the club is also the heart and soul of the surrounding community of the North East. The North East is not a wealthy area, it is a working class area where people work hard all week in their jobs and then go to watch their football team play on the weekend, in order to be entertained.

Unfortunately, one man has destroyed this once beautiful football club over the last 12 years, that man is Mike Ashley. Mike Ashley bought Newcastle United 12 years ago and in that time he has slowly destroyed the club and sucked the life out of it. The situation at the club is now at an all time low and fans are looking to take serious action in order to get rid of the owner once and for all, which will mean many passionate fans will not be attending future games. Sadly, Newcastle United fans realise they have to stay away from the football club they love, as this is the only way to get through to Mike Ashley, we know that money is the only thing he truly cares about.

It is clear to see that Mike Ashley bought Newcastle United for all the wrong reasons, namely as a vehicle to promote and advertise his primary business Sports Direct. In the time he has owned Newcastle United his wealth has grown exponentially, this is not a coincidence when you consider all of the free advertising he has had from all the Sports Direct signs that are plastered all over St.James Park and viewed by a worldwide audience.

Mike Ashley has one main objective for Newcastle United and that one objective is to survive and stay in the Premier League. He does not care about competing and winning football matches or even winning trophies, he is motivated by one thing and one thing only and that’s money. The television rights and the money received from being in the Premier League means there are huge profits to be made by unfit owners of football clubs such as Mike Ashley. Sadly, Mike Ashley would be quite happy for Newcastle United to finish 17th each year, as we would maintain our Premier League status. As long as he can receive the large sums of money from the television rights and promote Sports Direct to a worldwide audience, then he is happy.

The Premier League and the Football Association need to introduce measures that scrutinise and financially penalise unfit football club owners. Football clubs are being destroyed by individuals who are using them as a way to promote their own self interests and wealth which is damaging to the clubs fans and wider community, its simply not right.

What I’m proposing today is for the Premier League and the Football Association to introduce new rules that prohibit owners of football clubs from advertising other businesses they own through the Football club they own. I believe this will dissuade unfit and improper owners from buying and owning football clubs for the wrong reasons.

On top of this, I’m proposing that new rules are put into place surrounding how football clubs spend the money they generate from different revenue streams including: television, commercial and match day revenue. I propose that new rules and regulations are put in place, whereby the owner of the football club who receives money from these revenue streams must reinvest all of the money generated by the club, back into the football club they own each year and not funnel it into their own back pockets or other business interests. This money should be reinvested back into the playing squad, club facilities, staff, youth academy and projects/charities for the local area etc. If owners do not follow these rules then financial implications should be placed solely on the owner and not the football club, which would act as a serious deterrent.

Mike Ashley does not deserve to own Newcastle United. Newcastle United is dying a slow death and unfortunately it’s a shadow of its former self because of Mike Ashleys selfish motives. The Premier League and the Football Assosication need to realise this and take appropriate action.

    Thank you for your time.

    Kind regards,

According to the Mirror:  Bruce, desperation to be in charge of the club he and his family have supported will see his basic pay pegged at £1million a year, when predecessor Rafa Benitez was getting a £6m annual wage.

So theoretically, Ashley is still saving money as Bruces assistants will be on less than rafas assistants. Yet he still haggles over compo for his first choice….

Bruce was seventh on Chumleys little list
Bruce offered £5m a year less than Rafa
Chumley lowest paid MD in Prem

The Government said Austerity was over.
Not in NUFC , it’s just starting, again.

Bruce really needs to walk away from being linked to this toxic disaster that’s Ashley.

What is his mate Shearer saying – considering how much he’s had to say about Ashley previously he’s suddenly gone very quiet. Why ?

And, the Prem’s lowest paid ‘manager’ supposedly wants Carr back and ‘is expected to be offered a senior scouting role by Bruce, having remained on good terms with the Ashley regime’. Oh yes, Bruce wants him back!

Where does that leave Nickson? In the departure lounge of course.

Ashley’s fast dismantling any sort of professionalism that Rafa brought to the club and like SD, surrounding himself with his trusted placemen in Barnes, Bishop, Charmless, Bruce, Carr and Shola – can we expect Beardsley back in some role soon?

Hopes of the takeover seems like a long distant memory. Ashley’s poison has won the day again.

Walking fifteen miles a day for 19 days takes a bit of training I’m going to propose we walk to Churnleys house every Sunday to break our boots in, banners in tow, making the distance each week one mile further from his house, you would have to do your own training during the week.
