Which Of These Former Premier League Managers Would You Prefer If Bruce Deal Falls Through?

With the Steve Bruce compensation fee likely being more than the accumulation of five years worth of his base yearly salary, we are not too positive on the likelihood that Steve Bruce will end up as the next manager of Newcastle United. Maybe positive is not the best term to use in this case, as we would be delighted if the deal were to fall through.

With that in mind, we have decided to create a poll for who you would prefer to be the next Newcastle manager. The criteria is that they have to have recently (within the past five years) coached in the Premier League and would not be an unreasonable selection i.e. Jose Mourinho or Arsene Wenger. We chose this criteria because that is reportedly what Mike Ashley is looking for.

While we have no idea if any of these candidates would even take the position to work under Scrooge McDuck, to the best of our knowledge none of them have publicly turned the job down. While some of these candidates have been linked to the job, some also have not. We also have a few former managers in the mix, though we admittedly understand they may be very unlikely to be asked.

The list is in alphabetical order by last name. I have made it obvious who my selection would be.

Nigel Pearson was fired from OHL Leuven (2nd Division Belgium League) last season and we have people who think he’d be a good choice as our next Manager?

From RAFA to Nigel – talk about setting the bar high….

Neil – to be fair you should have Bruce and Mourino on the list.
Then the result would be more telling.

    I vote for another list

I don’t think the Wolves game will be as one-sided
    as some believe.
They won’t be many 1st teamers playing for them (I’m hoping)
They have a tie in the Europa League vs the winner
of Crusaders vs Torhavn (Faroes) on Thursday 25th July.
The Irish side are favourites with a 2 goal lead after the first leg
I bet Nuno regrets the China trip now

Maybe the best thing for the club is for Wolves and either City or West Ham to totally pound us 4 or 5 nil each game?!

Would certainly focus a lot of minds to the problems ahead!!

I don’t even give a shit if we get relegated next season, it doesn’t matter if you’re not even going to attempt to try and better yourselves…

Getting outspent consistently by every single other club is embarrassing. If it takes us to drop through the divisions until Ashley sells then so bet it.. I just want our club back.

Did you notice hoe Jabba sold Shirebrook
But SD are still using it
Are we meant to thus ignore it ?
Like were stupid enough to not realize it still supports his tat shops but under another owner

You think he did it so we leave it alone ?

    Nobody noticed

The media haven’t picked up on anything, yet alone any facts.
You have to wonder how much they’re paid to churn out the rubbish they construct and at who’s beckoning you’d be inclined to ask.
    Free speech ?
    Even bigger joke than Ashley

    Like i said

    Wednesday the fallacy ends

All the PR have is hopes and dreams

A team without a manager, in utter turmoil.
Almost without a striker are what Jabba is hoping keeps the lie going

    Deluded isnt even close

Plenty noticed and commented that he’d sold Shirebrook for £120million only to lease it back for 15 years.
He must have cash flow problems or he’s building a fund to buy Arcadia or M and S or whoever catches his eye

He wants us to leave it alone,he thought changing owners might muddy the water enough

Its his weak point in his tat shops, they totally rely on it.
Any disruption there would be bad for all of them, not just the one on Northumberland street

    😉

Look at the map, not many ways in or out down small roads

the question is which of them is willing to work for 20,000 a week knowing they might get sacked a few months into the season. if bruce’s compensation is £5m which ashley will never pay, my bet would be on redfearn or nolan or someone so bad he’s been forgotten about.

if Bruce or whoever gets a 3-5 year contract then it’s safe to say ashley is going nowhere.
if Bruce gets a one year deal we have a chance of a sale going through. whether that’s a 10% chance or 90% chance nobody knows, but it points to something still going on behind the scenes.
the rumoured one year deal and 20k pay packet have given me a slight bit of hope in this dire situation. since nobody is telling us anything we can only look for clues like this.

It’s way way to embarrassing to be voting for any of them in the list, The mackem looks 95 per cent sure to get the job. Honestly, Lee Charnley i could punch you square in the face, obviously had it ok’d by Mike as well, so he gets a clipping too.
But I would have to say Laurent Blanc cos u had a £5 at 50/1
    How purely daft was I.
As I have said if it’s Steve snide Bruce, I’m taking time off from the toon till he gets the magnum 45 and he will go with a couple of million in his back satchel, plus a two finger salute to the toon on his way out.
