Alaves Announce Joselu In £2.5m Deal – Player Thanks Fans

Joselu has sent the following message to Newcastle United fans as his long drawn out transfer to La Liga side Alaves is now complete.

Here is the announcement via Twitter from Deportivo Alaves. The tweet translates to “Will you go tomorrow to the presentation of Joselu?

Finally, Newcastle United have confirmed the departure on their Twitter page.

The Chronicle have done a report on the deal also. They are the ones that we can find quoting the fee as £2.5m.

This is what Lee Ryder writes of the fee for Joselu.

The former Stoke City striker netted just seven goals in 52 appearances and the fee is believed to be around the £2.5million figure.

We wish Joselu all the best. He is a really good lad and a very hard worker.

This is a good opportunity for him to return to Spain and resume his career in La Liga.

I am sorry to hear that mate but it is a common factor happening at the club now

I will tell you a little story of what is unfolding at Nufc regarding the fans.As stated many times before I have been going up to Newcastle for nearly 30 year now to watch our beloved club, And in that time have made many a good friend who I have and will continue to see as life long friends. Most have over the last 10 year packed up there St’s around me in the platinum which brings me to a certain couple.
Rosemary and Brian have been life long devotees to Newcastle united, Bri is 67 and Rosemary is 63 years young.Have followed the club around the world for over 40 year. There new year resolution was to make a stand against Ashley and have cancelled both there St’s for good.No more can they just accept the crap that Ashley and to a point the club now throw at the fans.
Like many are doing now is giving up something that has been the best part of there life for many a decade as unfortunately I have decided to do.This is my point I am trying to get across regarding the future under Mike Ashley and how bleak that looks.People cannot understand why there is no atmosphere in the ground no more and this is a massive contributing factor. The crowd is made up of many day trippers and casual frequenters nd not the masses of passionate fans that once filled the ground,Yet some think this is hysteria by a typical Ashley lover who cannot see the wood for the trees.

Fair play to Joselu he always gave 100% he just didn’t have the quality necessary

As it stands we don’t really have any tall strikers in the club who can win a header so I guess we will be playing lightning quick football on the deck for our smaller strikers?

Joselu is the poster boy of the Ashley regime
    Delighted he’s gone
    Offered nothing
And Alaves will regret signing him

    Lee charnley

Can you remember when we first signed him and he hit that wonder goal pre season workout.Everyone started raving about him but proved to be a bum purchase, Never good enough but typifies where we are at as a club

His time here was so impactful that Lee Ryder had to refer to his time at Stoke in the blurb instead of referencing anything about his time with us

I am shocked the club got a transfer fee for Joselu taking into account his wages. Joselu must have accepted a pay cut for first team football; if so, all the best to him.

Joelinton would be a good signing if we had someone like Rondon to mentor him in the role… as it is he will be thrown into the Prem and expected to establish himself as a prolific No. 9 and goal scorer on his own. Almiron’s a young and promising winger, Muto remains an unknown to me and Sorensen is another promising promotion from our academy… Zero experience up top is worrying where will the goals come from Scharr, Clark and Lascelles?

Don’t think Ashley will even splash on Joelinton. To be totally honest he announced his retirement but if Charmless had any sense at all he’d approach ol’ Crouchy with a one season incentives heavy contract to gives us a target man up front since Bruce is going to park the bus (his style is all based on his ol’ glory days as a player under Fergy) and volley the ball into the opponent’s box at distance (so Miggy, Shelvey and Atsu can expect a lot of work) and hope for a knock down or header so I’m expecting a 4-4-1-1- set up most games from S B with Miggy in behind the ? that will play as the lone striker up top. Rondon would really have done well in that role.
