Former Newcastle United Striker Michael Chopra has tweeted that he will be appearing on talkSport tomorrow morning at 9AM. This is his tweet alerting Newcastle fans of his appearance.
Looking forward to chatting on @talkSPORT tomorrow at 9am talking @NUFC with @alanbrazil and Ian Holloway tune in NUFC fans #nufc #talksport
— Michael Chopra (@MichaelChopra) July 15, 2019
The reason this may be really interesting is due to an exchange he had with Pete Graves of Sky Sports over the weekend.
The former Newcastle United Academy product and local lad has voiced his frustrations with the club and, particularly, Mike Ashley this past weekend. His comments were very poignant and in response to Pete Graves’ confrontation with many fans on Twitter.
After comments made by Shola Ameobi and John Carver about how Steve Bruce would be a good appointment riled up a few fans, Pete Graves tweeted out the following “rant”.
Let's make one thing crystal. Shola Ameobi and John Carver are Newcastle United fans who want the best for the club. Just because they happened to be at SBR golf day yesterday, they were asked for views on things and are both getting slated as far as I can see for not being.. 1/2
— Pete Graves (@PeteGravesSky) July 14, 2019
Completely negative. Perhaps they actually believe Steve Bruce (if he gets it) will do a decent job. Maybe they want to see their limping football club sort itself out asap. I hate that on #nufc twitter, if people breath any positivity they are shot to pieces. JC and Shola… 2/3
— Pete Graves (@PeteGravesSky) July 14, 2019
..love Nufc and want what's best for the club. They also deserve their opinions on things. I'm seeing former terrace favourites (Shola, Nolan etc) getting turned on for not sharing the popular opinion of fans and it saddens me. These guys wore that shirt with pride. Rant over 3/3
— Pete Graves (@PeteGravesSky) July 14, 2019
After these tweets, Pete Graves found himself the target of the fan’s ire and unwisely continued to engage with them on Twitter. The embattled Sky Sports reporter then had an exchange with Michael Chopra in which Michael basically told it how it is.
Mate Shola is employed by the club so he cant say anything bad and JC is probably mates with Steve Bruce
— Michael Chopra (@MichaelChopra) July 14, 2019
Understand what you’re saying mate, Steve Bruce will be a yes man to MA, do you think Mourinho, Ranieri, Gerrard and Vieira would put up with the lies and bullshit that comes with MA? So he will take the easy option and cheapest. Us fans just want what is best for our club.
— Michael Chopra (@MichaelChopra) July 14, 2019
These are quite the comments to come from Michael Chopra. He has called out Mike Ashley’s lies and says what we all believe about Steve Bruce.
Bruce will be a “yes man” to Mike Ashley. He is a terrible appointment. Even if he came unhindered out of unemployment he would still be a terrible appointment.
Now you add to the cauldron the fact that he has completely shafted Sheffield Wednesday and their fans. It couldn’t get much worse than hiring Steve Bruce at this time.
This is the problem right now with the media. While Sky Sports and BBC are airing Arsenal supporters’ displeasure with their owner Stan Kroenke, they allow Mike Ashley to act with impunity by not exposing his wretched actions destroying this club.
"As Arsenal fans we have watched with frustration as the team's football performances have declined over the past decade"
— Sky Sports Premier League (@SkySportsPL) July 15, 2019
16 prominent Arsenal supporters' groups and bloggers have signed a letter calling on owner Stan Kroenke to "reinvigorate" the club.

We will be interested to hear what Michael Chopra has to say and hope he will let people know of the absolute travesty going on at Newcastle United right now. It should be a breath of fresh air if compared to the recent appearance on talkSPORT by Kevin Nolan.

Rosemary and Brians story is one that should be shared with more than the blog.
Theres many similar stories but we only ever see drunken idiots representing Nufc in the media.
Fans leaving after 30 or 40 years is something that every football fan would take notice of and ask why.
TMG should look at people like these who feel not going after decades is their only option and tell their story.

Comment #5Jail, sorry was distracted, but thanks for replying.
Sounds like a great plan you have brewing. Plenty of time to get your ducks in a row, not just related to NUFC so if the best happens and we are bought at some point, you’ll still be doing some great work in support of the local area. Should grab the imaginations of the National Press, also. It would be great if you could persuade a friendly journo or two to join you on the trek.
Keep us all up to date with plans, if you don’t mind. Chances are I’ll not be able to join the march, at least not for the full thing, but would be very happy to support with a contribution of some kind and / or some background work. Are you hoping that some will do the whole thing with you and some will join at different times?
Good on you.

Comment #9I think Bruce is probably being offered pretty much what Rafa knocked back. A decent on going transfer budget and quite possibly final say on ins and outs, albeit essentially under existing parameters, under 25 or free agents or those in the last year of existing deals.
If he hasn’t, it’s hard to understand why he’s interested, and of course it’s one thing being offered it, another getting it.
In that case, it’s at face value a decent job for him, but we won’t win anything, and sooner or later we’ll go down, maybe this season.

fully respect you decision to still go but just letting you know that if you did choose to give it a miss . We could all help out with your weekly review…
well just in and still (quietly )fuming..
match report arsenal
Darlow 4 other than the pen save in the 4th minute, did his best and nothing he could do about the 3rd or 4th.
clarke 3 seemed leggy against this level of opposition
lascalles 3 looks a different player and got pulled out too many times trying to cover yedlin
lejerne 2 clearly not fit but with share left out with a “niggle” guess he was only option
yedlin 2 see above
colback 1 ran around a lot , rolled up his sleeves and clapped encouragement to know one really .stupid penalty and gifted lacazette the two free kicks to put the game out of sight.stupid he wasn’t subbed for ki before the second yellow.
shelvey 4 looks fit and was buzzing around for first 30 ,(will be away before the deadline) then frustration crept in as he came deeper and deeper to get the ball, leaving only the hollywood option to give miggy a hope.
Richie 6 ran his bits of for the cause ,looked the only one.
almeron 7 unlucky and must be wondering when that first goal will come for him .Thats var for you
sorrenson 8 worked his self into the ground , but isolated without the quick feet of perez to pick him out and the awful balls into the box didnt help
murphy 2 seems to have less confidence that even last year , game passed him by. (sub aarons 80 mins)
aarons 1 considering he was on against a tiring defence he seemed to be unable to beat even the most pedestrain back 4 in the epl , was only 5 mins after coming on it was noticed this may have been down to him forgetting he still had his gucci man bag on his shoulder so was possibly carrying more weight that a 7 stone jockey at kempton.
bruce 1 was only seen in the technical area once (see aarons above) and hid in the dugout preferring dawson to try and give instructions.
crowd
Our fans 2 silent , moaning with a few anti ash chants ,not picked up however on the sky mics strangely.
A few gaps but all around me seemed to be international students who spent most of the time taking selfies and trying to film the whole “matchday experience” and bemused eastern Europeans who looked like the polish rescued from belsan in escape to victory.
Still they were givena ticket , pies and free beer and travel to a from shire brook so a nice day out to reward their loyalty to the Reich
Their fans . 6 came in numbers full allocation and quite a few seen all over the ground taking advantage of ashleys ‘new tickets available on match day” initiative.only heard them after each goal with the usual “wheres your famous atmosphere ?”palava
Calls for them to join the boycott fell on death ears as we knew they would, did we really think a team based in London with no soul left would give a shit ? no me neither.
Never mind Norwich away next .
Another club Bruce rubbished after leaving for pastures new and golden .
A club with a board who care and communicate .what can possibly go wrong ? lets just hope this latest takeover goes through before the window shuts eh ?

Comment #12mikeashleyisamackem, I think I’m right in saying your story has been consistent all the way through. It’s an interesting one, but I hope you’ll accept that there have been a number of false dawns all through this process.
I do hope you’re right, I’ve said all along I’ll hold onto some hope until it’s confirmed that there is no room for it any more. Nowt has changed, realistically, but if what you’ve said turns out to be true, then everything could change in the next few days.

It’s not a bunch of ex hooligans lager louts or Torries, real genuine nice people, the like of even jib cant sneer at.
We have to be cunning like Ashley, best foot foward, show the lamb but be the wolf.

Comment #14mikeashleyisamackem story sounded almost sensible until you look into it.
how could BZG share their interest with Ashley? 51%/49%. So who would actually be investing in the team but we know Ashley wont?
and who can say he will be selling his shares in february? Who to? etc etc.
doesnt quite make sense Im afraid.
and certainly not very funny taking the pee out of us at times like these

Comment #19Do I want a manager like steve bruce?
No
Will I disrespect steve bruce?
No
Why should he get disrespect when it’s having that fat bastard as owner which is causing all these managers to be part of our club. People say we a big club so in the eyes of steve bruce he has got a once in a lifetime chance of being the manager of a big club.
Also whilst that fat bastard is owner 99.99999999% of big managers and upcoming managers will refuse to be our manager

Ashley is in a win win situation, he stays in the prem and takes the TV money and keeps anyone who wants to buy it at £350m plus but adds in deal breakers to put them off.
When we go down because we will, he will still get more for the club than he originally paid for it and make up the difference by more player sales along the way.
Mark my words, he hates us as much as we hate him and now he’s taking the p155 with Bruce and selling fan favourites

I’m thinking of it in the long term, staying in the PL or doing the yo-yo game we are left with that fat bastard for ever, however if we were to drop drop to the championship and remain their for a few years he’d be gone since he no longer has big money.
The very moment he does leave the spirit of our club will shoot up big style and promotion will arrive in no time and clubs like leister city show with a great passion the team will be able to become part of top 10

Comment #34I think the Bruce story could be just to take the attention away from the takeover I think the takeover is close, the silence from Mike Ashley says it all for me
If he was keeping Newcastle he would a released a statement saying so ,he would also rubbish the takeover stories
Rafa Benitez has said nothing about the takeover
Ya can’t tell me that rafa would not have of been briefed on the ins and outs at Newcastle
There is non disclosure agreements signed in a legal binding documents ,there not allowed to say
There’s no way Newcastle will start the premier league season without a statement from the club
Something big is happening at Newcastle and there’s a reason where been made to wait for a statement from the club about its future and direction season
Keep the faith

Your comment from earlier :-
“You’re better off for your sanity to stick to the night shift. It’s full of insomniacs, anecdotes and across-ponders who haven’t quite grasped how bad it is right here and now. No offence but it’s largely true.”
I don’t know about the insomniacs and anecdotes part, but your last point is probably pretty fair.
It’s not that I personally don’t grasp how bad things are, it’s just not as much ‘in your face’ when you live thousands of miles away 🙂
