Report – Newcastle Will Chase Everton Duo Who Do Not Fit Ashley Profile

90min has a report bordering on the implausible that Steve Bruce will hope to sign both Yannick Bolasie and James McCarthy from Everton.

This is what is reported as an exclusive by Tom Gott for 90min:

90min has learned that Bruce is eager to take advantage of the available transfer kitty by recruiting a number of new players once he is confirmed as Newcastle boss.

The manager will begin with Bolasie and McCarthy – two players he has often tried to sign in the past for previous clubs. During his time with ?Aston Villa, Bruce was keen for the club to land Bolasie on loan, and they ultimately managed to do so after he had been sacked.

We highly doubt Steve Bruce will have much say in who the transfer targets are this summer. We also think it would be best for Steve Bruce to steer clear of Mike Ashley as he no doubt will be feeling sick for the next few months as the realization sets in of what he has forked over
£4m for.

We find these targets to be very strange to say the least. First of all, neither player fits the profile of someone that is 26 years of age or less. Bolasie is 30 and James McCarthy is 28. Ashley is not going to want to pay for these types of players. It was one of the major sticking points in his negotiations with Rafa Benitez.

Both players, however, would not come at a big price. James McCarthy has just one year left on his contract and Everton are trying to offload him this summer.

Yannick Bolasie has two years remaining on his contract but amazingly has just a £10m release clause in his contract.

While we would be surprised if either of these two ended up on Tyneside, they could provide experienced cover for the next few seasons. We imagine they would only cost about £15m for the pair. But if you throw in their likely high wages, agent fees, and signing bonuses, it would most likely be too much for Ashley to sanction.

Hey guys been around for a while but just been a ghost reading all your interesting posts over the last few years , Massive toon fan but kept away as can’t stand donating to mikes high street , Just wanna say this is the best toon blog to read and keeps you reading ?, and following with interest. Must admit my moods been changing reading some posts , getting more an more sick of the bloke and seeing his mug on here that im starting to have dreams of protests ffs . This is effecting a lot of us and he needs to be gone . Been doing a lot of thinking an read on here that fcb has been buying lumps of shares here and there , Then yesterday the results of the share price coming down and down , Folk are saying he has the media manipulating the fans , Could it be that he is doing this and also manipulating the share price to bring the price down so he can then afford to buy up the remaining shares to go private and own shit direct again , Just a thought .

Problem with that theory mikeashleyisamackem is he’s just parted with 4million quid for Bruce! He wouldn’t normally part with 40 quid so cannot believe that’s what the plan is! I’m more than happy to eat humble pie but

Will be interesting when the players negotiate this seasons bonus. He has already lost 4m, and with Bruce’s only on £1m a year they can’t be to greedy with their demands.

    Charlie in the gallowgate ,
fully respect you decision to still go but just letting you know that if you did choose to give it a miss . We could all help out with your weekly review…
well just in and still (quietly )fuming..
    match report arsenal
Darlow 4 other than the pen save in the 4th minute, did his best and nothing he could do about the 3rd or 4th.
clarke 3 seemed leggy against this level of opposition
lascalles 3 looks a different player and got pulled out too many times trying to cover yedlin
lejerne 2 clearly not fit but with share left out with a “niggle” guess he was only option
    yedlin 2 see above
colback 1 ran around a lot , rolled up his sleeves and clapped encouragement to know one really .stupid penalty and gifted lacazette the two free kicks to put the game out of sight.stupid he wasn’t subbed for ki before the second yellow.
shelvey 4 looks fit and was buzzing around for first 30 ,(will be away before the deadline) then frustration crept in as he came deeper and deeper to get the ball, leaving only the hollywood option to give miggy a hope.
Richie 6 ran his bits of for the cause ,looked the only one.
almeron 7 unlucky and must be wondering when that first goal will come for him .Thats var for you
sorrenson 8 worked his self into the ground , but isolated without the quick feet of perez to pick him out and the awful balls into the box didnt help
murphy 2 seems to have less confidence that even last year , game passed him by. (sub aarons 80 mins)
aarons 1 considering he was on against a tiring defence he seemed to be unable to beat even the most pedestrain back 4 in the epl , was only 5 mins after coming on it was noticed this may have been down to him forgetting he still had his gucci man bag on his shoulder so was possibly carrying more weight that a 7 stone jockey at kempton.
bruce 1 was only seen in the technical area once (see aarons above) and hid in the dugout preferring dawson to try and give instructions.
    crowd
Our fans 2 silent , moaning with a few anti ash chants ,not picked up however on the sky mics strangely.
A few gaps but all around me seemed to be international students who spent most of the time taking selfies and trying to film the whole “matchday experience” and bemused eastern Europeans who looked like the polish rescued from belsan in escape to victory.
Still they were givena ticket , pies and free beer and travel to a from shire brook so a nice day out to reward their loyalty to the Reich
Their fans . 6 came in numbers full allocation and quite a few seen all over the ground taking advantage of ashleys ‘new tickets available on match day” initiative.only heard them after each goal with the usual “wheres your famous atmosphere ?”palava
Calls for them to join the boycott fell on death ears as we knew they would, did we really think a team based in London with no soul left would give a shit ? no me neither.

Never mind Norwich away next .
Another club Bruce rubbished after leaving for pastures new and golden .
A club with a board who care and communicate .what can possibly go wrong ? lets just hope this latest takeover goes through before the window shuts eh ?

Because he is Mike Ashley and the takeover does not complete till Friday which at this moment in time he is still the major shareholder ,owner
But I have it that he is unhappy that the majority of fans have been too quick to jump on his head when there has been no statement from the club ,and now refuses to give one even after been advised to by Barnes and charnley
That is also why he has appointed Bruce a lesser calibre manager because most fans thought he would
This is what I know to be fact
    Don’t shoot the messenger
