Assistant News Editor of Sky Sports Lyall Thomas has tweeted out the following information in an exclusive report on the future of Salomon Rondon.
Full story: Rafa Benitez's new side Dalian Yifang have agreed a deal with #WestBrom to sign Salomon Rondon, #WBA #NUFC @SkySportsNews understands ??https://t.co/XKn4ueLJVW
— Lyall Thomas (@SkySportsLyall) July 15, 2019
The report does not disclose the fee but does mention Rondon’s £16.5m release clause.
It will be interesting to see if West Brom were able to get the entire release fee from Dalian Yifang as most English teams were reluctant to pay that amount for a player approaching 30 with just one year remaining on his contract.
He will reunite with Rafa Benitez once personal terms are agreed. Rafa Benitez has gotten off to a great start with the Chinese club.
He has won his first three games and his team have scored three goals in all of them.
The addition of Rondon should certainly add to the firepower up front. Though current striker Emmanual Boateng, who is a Ghanaian international, has 4 goals in the 3 games since Benitez arrived.

Comment #20I know that this point has probably been discussed earlier but…
Do you think that the fall in SD share price due to the “difficult trading” after buying HoF had anything to do with so many of his key staff departing.
Were they looking at the horizon and seeing an iceberg ahead, decided to abandon ship before it sinks?
Will our beloved owner perhaps need a spare £350m to bail out SD?

Comment #21Dear me, all this nagativiry. Its part of the plan. As somebody pointed out, he’s traded a racehorse for a cart horse.
Now we finally get to see this mythical cart Ashley talked about. See, part of the plan. I’d forgotten all about that cart. Now it makes sense. Clear as mud.

He will always have a spare 100 odd million kicking about owning Newcastle its just disposable income that he has for a rainy day….
Player sales installments are usually a guaranteed 40 odd million which he has kicking about not to mention all that lovely TV money!!

We have 3500 away fans then the corporate and the platinum is mainly made up of day trippers and guests and stag parties now rather than being all season ticket holders as before.
Then we have the 10 year brigade that have not been factored in.
If 13,000 have refused to renew, And the 10 year brigade stick by the boycott..Attendance could be as low as 25,000 to 30,000 . That would make a statement and can easily be built on

‘You’re better off for your sanity to stick to the night shift. It’s full of insomniacs, anecdotes and across-ponders who haven’t quite grasped how bad it is right here and now. No offence but it’s largely true.’
Really disappointing to see you make a that comment, thought you were better than that.”
It’s probably a bit too general Essex you may have a point. But I stand by it being a totally different animal to the day shift, it’s much less affected by goings on here, understandably so if you’re thousands of miles away and only vague news connections to get the hang of things. It does dive into off topic musings quite a bit.
Just as an indicator of an interaction with someone who didn’t “get it” – the otherwise quite affable NY Mag who gleefully offered that (despite everything he’d obviously heard) he would still subscribe to his local sports Channel specifically to watch Newcastle. Hardly hands across the ocean 🙂

Comment #35No question of me supporting this huge disaster of an appointment. Even besides his questionable character in his resignation actions he stands for everything that’s to be loathed about this regime. I don’t care what middling results he has it needs to be pointed out to Ashley his product is sub standard and we don’t want to buy it any more than the dodgy Sheikhs do 😐

Comment #36missed the bus by a mile .. they go so fast .. so re-post ..
Not looking good. Nobody outside of Ashley’s inner circle and BZG know what’s happened to the takeover and we’re all poking around in the silence for clues. The only on-the-record, official statements available are those from BZG and if I have to choose between believing them and Ashley (proved in court to have lied to and misled nufc fans repeatedly) then I’ll believe BZG until there’s proof otherwise (which there hasn’t been so far).
I’m prepared at this point to believe that, as they said, they’ve done everything required of them including providing proof of funds at an early stage and agreeing a purchase price in principle with Ashley that was reflected in a Heads of Terms agreements. What’s gone wrong since then none of us know. To me the most feasible explanation is Ashley moving goalposts, and sabotaging the sale with his greed and unreasonable demands. That belief (and thats all it is) is based on 12 years experience of Ashley, his proven record as a liar, and multiple reports of previous failed sales attempts. But who knows ?
If he has indeed shelled out £4 million for Bruce (!!) and if they do go ahead and buy the joe linton character then that looks very like the takeover is off and all there is to look forward to is more of the proven failure of Ashley running nufc as a branch of sports direct. Bargain-basement, no-ambition football with avoiding relegation being the best anyone can aspire to. The futures so bright we’ll hafta wear shades ..
