Report – Fabian Schar “Proposed” To AC Milan

There were reports yesterday attributed to Calcio Mercato journalist Pietro Balzano Prota that Fabian Schar’s agent was in contact with AC Milan over a proposed move.

Today Calcio Mercato are again reporting that Fabian Schar may be on the way to the Northern Italian club.

However, the report is very strange in that is states Fabian was proposed to Milan for €15m. Now it is not clear if Newcastle have offered to sell the Swiss international or if it’s his agent that is allegedly trying to engineer a move. It seems to us to be neither of these.

The report starts out talking about Liverpool defender Dejan Lovren and Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano being targets for Milan. It then adds that Schar has been added as a potential target.

This is what the report says:

According to what has been learned by calciomercato.com, in the meeting a few days ago with the CEO of SportsTotal, there was not only talk about Dayot Upamecano, but also another defender: Fabian Schär.

The Swiss defender currently plays for Newcastle and just like Upamecano, he was also proposed to Milan. His price tag is set at around €15m, and he’s not considered unsellable by the English side.

Now the operative word here is “proposed” and what does it mean in this context. As this is a translation, it could just mean that Fabian’s name came up as a suggestion in a meeting and that has leaked out.

Fabian Schar– Newcastle’s ball-playing defender

Some outlets are running with the notion that Newcastle have offered Fabian Schar to AC Milan for €15m and their new manager Marco Giampaolo will soon make a decision. However, the outlet they site for this is TuttoSport who just has a list of potential targets and lists Fabian’s name without any additional details.

The original report in Calcio Mercato has Upamecano as the target most preffered by Giampaolo with Schar being a back up plan. It also states that Giampaolo will make the ultimate decision but adds that a move for Upamecano may be thwarted due to his high price tag.

We don’t believe that Fabian Schar was offered to AC Milan for €15m as he is easily worth three times that amount. With Harry Maguire and Lewis Dunk going for £80m and £45m respectively, we can’t see Mike Ashley willing to offload Fabian for so little.

This looks like some press in Italy have expounded upon a leak from an AC Milan meeting and added some details that may not be accurate.

However, we have no doubt that AC Milan would be interested in Schar as he would be an excellent signing for them. We just hope that nothing comes of this as Fabian is fast becoming a Newcastle star.

Good for Dejphon. When Bruce tried the same trick at Crystal palace by resigning to go to Birmingham Simon Jordan took him to court and told him to work his notice period…..the remaining 9 months of his contract.
If Bruce is desperate to come to Newcastle maybe he should pay the remaining 2 million to Dejphon

I quite like Sunderland to be honest. Once got myself into the press room after a match at the Stadium of Light and tucked into a complimentary tray of delicious and lovingly homemade sausage rolls and helped myself 3 large tins of Tennants to wash them down with, while Peter Reid set about patronizing and dismantling the press. Good fun!

They were riding high at the time and the atmosphere in the ground was also amazing, for a Championship game. 🙂

It just when they forget their place is all. 😉

Tsunki whato old boy, .. It looks like the PR wolves are baying for blood. If you can just hold firm with this mob dear chap and see them off, there might be some respite before another battalion are drafted in.

They’re obviously desperate to avoid any solidarity being formed this end and it appears they’ll stop at nothing in their bid to discredit you.
I’m sure you’ll come through unscathed and this attempting to defend the indefensible will defo help the cause.

    Love this.

“The King’s Arms perches on the south bank of the Wear behind the waste ground where the Vaux brewery used to be. It’s a proper pub, at least 150 years old, with a fine range of beers, ancient octagonal tables and draughty toilets widely rumoured to be haunted. We always go there before the home game nearest to Christmas. Nothing much changes. You notice the odd dad who isn’t there any more, the odd kid who’s joined the group, but essentially it’s the same group of blokes catching up, having much the same conversation they have every year. Except this season, there was something different. This season there was a parrot.

I’m not sure anybody had realised the King’s needed a parrot but now it’s there it’s obvious it belongs. This is a pub that reeks of the docks and the shipyards and the city’s seafaring heritage. Of course it should have a parrot. And so Peter now sits on top of his cage, cynical and grey, brutally assessing the drinkers in his domain.

The previous home game, I was told, Peter had attacked a bald man. “Why divvin yer put it inside the cage?” he’d asked the barmaid as he dabbed at the wound. “Look,” she’d supposedly replied. “He’s here ahl the time. Ah’m not lockin’ ‘im up just cuz we’ve got customers.” 🙂

How much value did Rafa add to this club, 100 million, more?

It’s sickening beyond description that he wasn’t backed, and backed to the hilt.

Ashley must sell, and so until he does, it must be war.
