According to Kicker Joelinton has been left out of Hoffenheim squad for their preseason friendly against Regensburg.
However, this is the exact same outlet that just yesterday claimed that Hoffenheim were nowhere near close to selling the Brazilian to Newcastle. That is basically the extent of the reporting from Kicker.
However after this initial report from Kicker, Bild has followed up with more information saying that they believe the deal is basically done. The Chronicle has tweeted the following information as Bild is a subscription only site:
Now @BILD_Sport say Joelinton to #nufc "is done". https://t.co/E6rCcmp5TV pic.twitter.com/cTjkXuem2B
— The Chronicle (@ChronicleNUFC) July 17, 2019
It could be that the deal will soon be announced and it appears to be for €40m. The Chronicle also did a good job on doing a scouting report yesterday on the striker.
This will be small first step in getting this squad prepared for the long season ahead. We need at least five more signings and if this deal is for as much as has been reported, then they will need to get creative with the remaining budget.
It is also vital that our established players are kept at the club. The team was poor today in their first preseason match against a Wolves team who have been at it for a few weeks longer and it really showed.
We would also expect former Chelsea midfielder Kyle Scott to be announced soon as well. Let’s see if Charnley can get these two deals over the line.

With Bruce, he has a 35% chance.

Come to the protest tonight.
You say you wont stop going to games but support a boycott well show your support now. If you truly want ashley gone and your local start turning up at the arranged protest that will be starting.
Surely after 60 years of being served shite sarnies you want a taste of the good stuff that everyone else at the table is eating.
Are you the big spoon in bed tonight or is ashley?

Spot on mate, in a way rafa going has done the fans a favour, hopefully it’ll untie us against the problem that’s always been a constant…..ashley.
We dont always agree on things as you’ve rightly pointed out but no one ever does tbf, I just want ashley gone and he could spend 1b this season for all I care, he remains the problem remains.
We just want our club back we all agree on that.

Comment #16I think it is easy to judge Carr.
Riviere – Joselu at least played and got a few goals. We could not give this fella away for free.
PEA – He wanted Pea did he. Easy to put that out there after the event. The whole world knew about him and the price. He was never going to sign for us. we would not have paid the money and he would not have come here. Who was the manager at the time Carver/Pardew. This lad was being offered deals by clubs in the Champions League.

Comment #20Sheffield Wednesday are a proud Club with a great history and great supporters , decent people down that way, shown no respect by the disgusting individual Mike Ashley .
His conduct, and Charnleys also, is lowest of the low..no respect for the people of Sheffield at all.
Steve Bruce as I said last month is anywhere for a little Apple..he is cheap..not cheap in the money sense but cheap when it comes to scruples and honouring a contract .
He is selfish and avarice .
I have a lot of connections to Sheffield Wednesday ..my mate Captained them and later managed them ..I also know and was a friend of the North East scout from the age of 7ish..our families were friends .
I know just how the People of Sheffield will be feeling ..a quite anger and a sadness that Mike Ashley and Steve Bruce showed them no decency or respect.
Sheffield folk are just like Geordies, decent, honest, hard working , and fair minded.
Mike Ashley and Lee Charnley have no scruples or shame, what a terrible way to disregard another football club and the decent people that work for them .
Shame on you Mike Ashley, Lee Charnley, and Steve Bruce.

Speak for yourself.
One thing Joelinton won’t have a problem with is the physical side of the Prem.
He shoulders off defenders for fun.
He also has 9 assists and dinks a lovely sharp pass in around the box in the same way Almiron does.
If Almiron is played as a 10 instead of on the wing I could see him and Joelinton being a real handful.
Bring it on. 🙂

Comment #23Whoever takes the job under Ashley is a yes man a puppet or a party man.
After having Rafa who at least tried to get Ashley to do the right thing by the club and fans I want none of the above qualities in our coach/manager.
I dont care which manager Ashley brings in under his current restraints I dont want them, it could be pep klopp or any flop.
I DONT WANT ANOTHER PUPPET.

Comment #26As others say with this transfer is lets see.
I half expect a freebie forward of Carrol or Wellbeck – I favour Wellbeck coming in only because Bruce had him down the road 2010-2011 season and raved about him !!

Unfortunately it’s not as easy as that, no one knows what the remit was on what number rivi was on the list, or if he was even on an initial list.
Guess the latest and most clear example I can give is Lazaar, cant give him away but we got him as he was cheap, could fill a void and potentially do a job. Doesn’t mean rafa is bad at signing players
We were linked with some real quality players when Carr was here, hence why I say it’s hard to judge him.

Cheers, but I live 75 miles away.
I’d have no problem attending a peaceful protest and if there is one outside the ground before after the Arsenal game I’d go to that.
As long as it doesn’t try to blockade fans attending the game.

And could Saint-Maximin could be next through the door.
Shares the same agent as Mr Joe Linton and rumours surfaced weeks ago from L’Equipe that we’d agreed personal terms with him.

I’ve a couple weds mates, they’re not that fussed. Say Bruce didn’t pull up any trees.
They reckon they’ve got the better deal, money for the coffers and they’ll get someone better than Bruce in.
They’re calling him snide etc for the way hes conducted himself, overall not bothered.

Comment #40Let’s none of us kid ourselves or forget that you are not watching Newcastle United anymore
Newcastle United have ceased to exsist ..Its Sports Direct FC .
Newly Set up 12 years ago to make money to further commercial enterprise in another field of business ..retail enterprise.
All massive profits from player sales and TV monies will be, and have been, channelled down the corridors of creative accountancy .. We all know that , right?
So what you get to see on the pitch is players wearing the black and white and not a football club or a team that is put out to win anything ..no ..no … ! No Chance!
It’s just there to keep the money and the advertising that promotes another business, thriving.
I can’t believe they issued a study from the club that cup runs both FA cup and League cup where a waste of time and could get the club relegated !
So the directive was ..Put out weakened teams as we don’t want to win any cup just survival will do in the league.
No ambition, no dreams, to win nothing, and existing just to keep Mike Ashley in the lifestyle he has become accustomed to.
Why bother ?
