Newcastle Lose To Wolves In First Preseason Match

In a much quieter second half, Newcastle shored up their defense and brought on a few of their youngsters for a good run out. Though Wolves took their foot off the pedal a bit as well

Freddie Woodman, Javier Manquillo, and Federico Fernandez came on to start the second half replacing Karl Darlow, Jamie Sterry, and Jamaal Lascelles.

Newcastle looked a bit better in this half but still lacked anything up front.

Roland Aarons, Ki Sung-yeung, and youngster Kelland Watts came on for Matt Ritchie, Jonjo Shelvey, and Ciaran Clark in the 58th minute.

Elias Sorensen– had decent runout with the first team

Then in the 63rd minute, Newcastle brought in the youth for a good 30 minute run out.

Tom Allan, Owen Bailey, Matty Longstaff and Elias Sorensen all came on with Jacob Murphy, Achraf Lazaar, Jack Colback and Yoshinori Muto making their exits.

Wolves had a couple of decent chances in the 67th and 70th minute with defender Kelland Watts making a good block on the latter.

Wolves scored their 4th on an unfortunate own goal by Tom Allan on a deflection from a Wolves corner that was headed in.

Transfer targets Martin Dubravka, Fabian Schar, and Sean Longstaff all failed to make an appearance with could further fuel their links elsewhere. Though there are legitimate reasons why they may not have been involved.

Fabian and Martin arrived back to Newcastle late due to international duty while Sean is still recovering from his knee injury.

We have to remember this is just the first preseason friendly, though it is concern that only three remain. This squad is in dire need of additions up front and at full back. It looks to us as though at least 6 incomings are needed with a few of the players who played today going in the other direction.

There’s quite an irony attached to the Chinese shirt logo.

‘The People’s Sport’ on Newcastle United shirts? Where NUFC’s concerned it ain’t ‘The People’s Sport’ any more.

Ashley’s screwed the life out of Newcastle United, once a football club and now Ashley’s cash cow, the logo might as well be Shite Direct!

Club is dead. A shi* manager, mediocre players, no signings. Going back to head coach model and carr which got us relegated.. And will again this season.

And 50k mugs will fill the stadium with “support the team not the regime”.

    League one. Here we come!

    naptoon,

I haven’t pointed any grammatical errors so I don’t know what you are talking about there..

My point is that for someone who so obviously has a good command of English and grammar why resort to this language…

“F…ck off billson you utter tw@
crock of utter $hite ya not a fan as far as im concerned so you can take ya minority view and shove it up ya ar$e”

I’ve called a few people on here an ar$ehole granted (nothing worse) but that’s almost complimentary compared to the cretin, tw@t,slug etc.. and multiple Fck offs I’ve responded to.

I don’t mind my views or opinions disagreed with at all.

We can all mud sling… it’s easy and doesn’t take much of a brain.

But the language and responses of you and others to my posts hardly make for any form of sensible debate – either from me or you and your clan.

    .

They are both emerging for this the thirteenth round.
Mike Ashley, the Totteridge destroyer, and local hero United.
It’s been a ‘no holds barred’ fight for twelve rounds, and it’s easy to sense the antagonism existing between the two fighters. Ashley is ahead on points at this stage I’d say, although the old champ, United, has had a better last three rounds.
Ashley’s advancing. Oh my goodness, that looked almost like a low blow (Rafa) from the Totteridge man as United is rocked back on his heels.
The ref. (PL) waves them to continue, in spite of the accumulation of foul play from the bruiser from Totteridge, and the fight goes on.
Now a hard right from Ashley catches United on the temple (Rondon), followed by a sickening left to the ribs (Ayoze). How much more can the old champ take ?
The Ashley fans (Mills, Ferdinand, Shola, Nolan) are on their feet cheering on their man, and the Sky team in the press box are looking smug. No guessing who they have their money on.
Wow !! A crunching uppercut from Ashley catches United flush on the jaw (Bruce).
The black and white supporters are silent as they see their man sag back onto the ropes.
Can he summon one big punch to take out his opponent (Takeover), or will the Totteridge destroyer weave and dodge it as he has already a few times during the fight ?
    To be continued…….

Bills we’ve all tried getting you to see you’re singing from the wrong song sheet but you have always been a tapeworm apologist who shouts down anything that would interrupt you going to your match, you want him out but want to sit by while others protest etc, you want him out but support the way he’s treated club legends and the way he has taken us backwards in twelve years, your excuse, it’s been worse … you are way out of touch with the feelings of disgust fans now have toward our club including other teams fans but you don’t care as long as you are at the match. Your views are divisive among fans surely you can see you are in the minority and the majority don’t want to hear it.

Dear me blog meltdown today, get a grip people. Wolves are miles ahead of us in terms of fitness and it clearly showed. It’s a completely meaningless friendly.

I think the clown will back Bruce though, we will invest in the coming weeks with a possible few going out aswell. Strange as it is some of the duds getting blasted today Murphy and Lazaar were bought by Rafa.

My prediction is Ashley will invest, 40k will turn up for first game, results wont be as bad as people think, fans will start returning back. Ashley wins again, club up for sale November, normal service resumed

I will give Bruce a chance and support the team. All are entitled to do as they see fit. Yes, things look dire at present. Let’s see who we buy to fill the massive holes created by Ashley’s intransigence. I’ve seen plenty of poor pre-season matches in recent years. Sorenson looked pretty bright when he came on. Only other positive aspect. Some of the players will have lost a few pounds!
