Newcastle’s Danish youngster made his preseason debut for the Newcastle first team today and seems to be over the moon with the experience.
The club earlier tweeted out a section of his post-match interview in Nanjing. He has just come out and tweeted about his joy with his debut.
Over the moon to make my @NUFC debut today. Dissapointing result but we look ahead to saturday now! Congrats to the boys on their debut aswell delighted for yous ???? https://t.co/AITXaKItma
— Elias Fritjof Sørensen (@EliasFritjof) July 17, 2019
It was good to see some of the young lads make their debuts today in a tough afternoon. The conditions were also rough in the sweltering heat of China but it was good for the team to get a run-out without any injuries.
It was a disappointing result and especially so for young Thomas Allan who had the unfortunate deflection into his own net for Wolves’ fourth goal.
The other youngsters to get a run-out tonight were Owen Bailey, Matty Longstaff, and Kelland Watts. This will have been a good experience for them.
We are very pleased to see the genuine elation that Elias has expressed in his interview. We are really happy for him.

Comment #1Think Tsunki pulled the blog up by its bootstraps yesterday .
He brought a lot of people together with his post of 8:28 yesterday morning ..unified (almost) all of us.
The tide has turned massively on Ashley ..the amount of Ashley supporters were easily spotted on this blog yesterday ..they were seething .
The amount of passion against Ashley was great to see…the contributions in posts and the amount of ticks, hearts, that were given out showed that passion ..it created an atmosphere of a United Support against Ashley .
Tsunki ..without sounding patronising …you were the catalyst for it all.
Hats off .

Comment #5Signing a player for 36 million who scored 7 goals in 28 games played midfield when I seen him a few times wasn’t much kop lost 2 players who scored 25 goals between them what a complete shower of a football club

It was a window on, and an amalagamation, of all our thoughts, the general concensus if you like, and so elequently written that it would grace any Broadsheet .
It told the story in a way that made it a pleasure to read .

Comment #11Really impressed with this youngster today done more than Muto did in 10 mins.
OLG who cares what Bruce has done to Sheffield Wed this happens all the time in football. If we got taken over by the next city owner and lured Pochettino from spurs would you be feeling sorry for them? The issue here is Bruce is absolutely garbage nothing to do with what he’s done to previous club.

My point was Ashley walking all, over people. Selfish , uncaring , not the way to behave towards others.

Comment #16The way the club has acted over the appointment of cabbage heed should show any player at the club its fine to move on if you get another offer…. cant really blame them, although I struggle to see where some would go to as there are no clubs circling the circus

I left after 20 25mins, somewhere to be. Well done those who turned up.
Bit disappointed with some of the chants with cameras there.
“We’ll have a party when Ashley dies”
I understand the sentiment but it’s not the sort of thing we should be putting across if we want support l.

Comment #19George Caulkin on Joelinton:
Newcastle have long been fixated on Joelinton, Hoffenheim’s Brazilian forward, who will cost around £36 million. They pressed the 22-year-old on Benítez, who demurred; he liked the player, but not at anything like that price and, if there was that much money available, why not let him spent it on his own choices.

Rather than give the ground a good clean, Mashley’s wisdom is to paint the whole ground black

Comment #25definitely Roy and Burns to open. With Wood injured that means Broad will get at least the 1st game. Moenn needs some time to fix his batting, and Rashid seems to have adjusted his aim and is not telegraphing his googly now.
So for the Ashes:
Roy
Burns
Root (should be 3 but wont be)
Bairstow
Stokes
Buttler
Curran
Rashid
Archer
Broad
Jimmy

Comment #29Was shocked today at work, I was complaining to a bloke from Birmingham who used to have a season ticket there, he said as much as they call him agent Bruce and a traitor for going to Villa, the football there under him was good and entertaining. Also said one forward, can’t remember his name, scores a few but not many but holds it up and brings others in, said he would be ideal replacement for Rondon
I listened to all he said, but can’t say I’m convinced. Would rather the text I got from Gav last night saying tell Ashley forget Bruce and he’ll do it for £200k a year, if only

Comment #32media in overdrive papering over Steve Bruce’s flaws and Mashley’s incompetence. This from Paul Wilson in the Graun / Observer made me sick:
“Newcastle supporters will not care too much about Bruce’s reputation for cautious football, his unhappy time at cash-strapped Aston Villa or even the two years he spent managing Sunderland. Capable managers with Premier League experience willing to work under Mike Ashley are not exactly beating a path to the north-east at the moment and, assuming Bruce is allowed to sign a few players and get the season off to a reasonably promising start, his enthusiasm for football and fondness for Newcastle are likely to win over any doubters.”

Comment #33My take on Jolington is, I could see today we were desperately missing a big man up front.
Muto looked awful, just kept running into the channels and did nothing from there. Kept running wide of the goals, rather than looking for something in the penalty spot area.
Muto needs a big man to play along side him to do all the hold up play and dirty work. If Jolington can drop into the number ten position, hold up the ball, bring in wingers like Murphy, Almiron and Ritchie, and feed in strikers like muto and Elias Sorenson, he will be worth while having even if he doesn’t score many.

Comment #34I believe we will spend about 90m this window and Rafa was offered the same. I get the feeling (and from reports) he wanted investment elsewhere such as YA, wanted a fat wage increase and wanted to scrap the under 26 signing policy which is what forced him to walk.

Comment #35The key is to get Smith out which is why Rashid has to play. If there was any other option I wouldn’t play Burns and Roy against Starc, but there isn’t.
