Sheffield Wednesday Issue Statement On Newcastle Appointment

Sheffield Wednesday have issued the following statement on Newcastle United’s appointment of Steve Bruce, Steve Agnew, and Steve Clemence.

This is their statement:

The Club is disappointed to learn via public statement issued by Newcastle United that it has appointed former Sheffield Wednesday staff Steve Bruce, Steve Agnew and Steve Clemence.

Regardless of the fact that the staff resigned from their positions with the Club on Monday, there remains outstanding legal issues to be resolved between the club and the staff and Newcastle United. The Club is currently considering its position and taking the appropriate legal advice.

No further comment will be made by the Club concerning this matter.

So it appears that Mike Ashley has gone ahead and hired Steve Bruce without paying the proper compensation to Sheffield Wednesday.

This is an outrageous act by Mike Ashley and shame on Steve Bruce for accepting this position under these circumstances.

Dejphon Chansiri– not pleased with Mike Ashley whatsover

This club is an absolute disgrace and we are disgusted with the mafia-like tactics from the man at the top. The FA should look into this immediately.

This summer has been beyond belief and it just gets worse and worse. Even though they have talked a good game, the squad’s performance in the first half against Wolves shows how low their spirits truly are.

We point to the demeanor of captain Jamaal Lascelles as an indicator of how much trouble this club is in.

It isn’t £5 m in 12 years, hes also doubled the debt.

Try -£75m and you’ll be closer to the truth.

So If Sheffield Wednesday have not accepted his resignation then he is still officially a Sheff Wednesday employee??? So he cannot officially take up another contract from another employer..Yes ??

Remember how bad it was up to January? Even Rafa said it would be a miracle if we stayed up.

Well I must say I was shocked at how he turned it around because it looked like nailed on relegation to me. It made me respect Rafa more than any other manager we’d ever had. He did perform miracles. Well now without him it will have gone back to what it was and might even get worse.

Everyone make yourself available your club needs you.
Put this message out tell everyone to attend.
If you car for your club youll be there to show your discontent at ashleys ruining of our club.
Enough is enough make a stand tonight between 6pm and 7pm.

why only have 4 friendlies lined up and the first one we play a lot of squad players surely they should be playing the team expected to start season then make changes from there team needs to gel
the planning and preparation will be the major factor when this club gets relegated

    Wow.
Only player showing a semblance of match fitness is colback.

    Shelvey cannot buy a pass.

Surely we don’t intend to start the season with this set-up.

It’s only a friendly. And my fiver

I’ve an awful funny feeling all thos players who were developing and showing promise under Rafa are now going to flop under Bruce. So kn essence I think we have a far weaker side than even we thought.

with this squad now there is no way in the world that it is possible to stay up. without rafas tactics and organisation it cant happen. and thats a fact.
only way is to spend a lot of money and that wont happen will it?

    even 80m wont be enough.

My mobile plan is with Optus in Australia
It comes with free epl games ….was a fantastic deal for the last three years under Rafa
So me watching this or not makes not jot of difference to ash or I would not be watching .
He has not got a cent out of my in 8 years
As tempting as it is to turn off its like a car crash ….my only hope from this is it finally hits home to all the support the team crew to finally say enough is enough

The words of sentiment in Charnleys press release just shows you what a two faced set of lying bastards the club is. Saying one thing and doing another.
Taking the mickey out of fans.

Jib suggesting the team put out is an up to speed session/second string romp indicates his knowledge.
With the season upon us – a team as near to the first team (acknowledging missing players) is the order of the day with just a relative few friendlies.

    30 pieces of silver pocketed.

Shameday for the club. Probably using the logic -appoint a Geordie and that’ll keep them quiet.

That free kick summed us up
Remember last year seeing Perez flick home those headers from whipped crosses
Remember seeing rondon smacking them from 35 yards ?
And as for Muto ….as Rafa said ” I think he is a striker”

no wonder they picked him. surely after getting knocked back by 10 managers you just say ok it doesnt matter how good they are, just get somebody that will actually come here.

Ashley is intent on sucking the life out of this club and destroying the fans love of this club, that’s what I believe he’s thriving off.

We have to come together, organise boycotts and protests, hurt Ashleys pocket and damage his one true love like he is damaging ours, his pathetic tat shop!!!

We need to protest outside his house, outside Sports Direct, House of Fraser, Debenhams and all the other shit he owns. This is war, we can’t let him win. Let’s make him wish he never pissed about with OUR club.

If I was a journalist I’d say to Bruce, whilst at Sunderland you answered a question saying you where there because they have a ambitious owner a ambitious director excellent infrastructure and a great fan base.

The director and owner have no ambition the infrastructure is one of the reasons the last manager left and the fan base dont want you,, why are you happy?
