Joelinton Says Goodbye To Teammates As New Transfer Fee Is Reported

Sport1 in Germany are reporting that the Joelinton deal to Newcastle could be announced today.

They also report two new details that should be of interest to Newcastle fans.

Sport1 is the outlet that originally broke the news that Newcastle were tracking Joelinton in February. They also still report that the length of the contract is still in question.

However, this latest report has stated that Joelinton has already said his goodbyes to his Hoffenheim teammates. So if that is true, it is looking like the contract length may not be something that will kill this deal.

While we do think that signing Joelinton for more than three years is essential, Newcastle have been burned by long contracts in the past. Henri Saivet and Jack Colback come quickly to mind.

Both of whom still have time remaining on their original deals despite playing no part in the squad over the past two seasons. Though they cost considerably less than Joelinton will.

Joelinton– said his goodbyes to Hoffenheim

Though Joelinton already comes with a record-breaking price tag, a contract of only three years could prove detrimental if the player excels on Tyneside. Mike Ashley will no doubt be looking to cash in on the Brazilian if he becomes world-class.

We would hope, if that is the case, he would last at least two seasons with Newcastle. If he has just a three-year deal, that would limit his transfer value as after two years he likely would not command as high of a fee with just one year remaining on his contract.

The report in Sport1 also now states that the deal could be as high as £47m. This is much higher than has been originally reported. We don’t know how true this is but Sport1 certainly seem to have some good sources on this transfer.

They think buying someone is going to make it all go away
There spending money they got from player sales, yes it’s unusual for us but this guy don’t score many goals

Do you think that the students, NHS workers and Armed Forces who will be making up some of the numbers on £5 tickets in the Platinum club when Arsenal visit actually care about the club?

Of course it’s not, but I’m not going to chin the bloke for it or go smack a Sunderland fan. Kind of pathetic but hey that’s just me, each to their own.

It doesn’t matter whether you think Bruce is a good guy or a good manager what hes done has prolonged Ashleys ownership.

Apparently 10 others said no then they went for Bruce as he was desperate to come here.

Thanks Steve, due to your selfishness the fat man is cosying up again for another 12 years.

If Steve Bruce was this fantastic Geordie who loved his boyhood club so much he’d be totally aware of the situation it’s in and would actually be the last person you’d imagine taking the job. Apparently, as I understand it, according to him he only didn’t take the job last time because it was offered while SBR was still there and he just couldn’t step into that situation.

What’s changed Steve? What’s better about this situation, you’re stepping into the still-warm slippers of the well regarded last manager – pretty comfy aren’t they? Yeah right pull the other one, we know it’s because you’ve realised this is a manager graveyard but now you’re floundering with a lukewarm CV in the champo so you’ll take a PL job no questions.

With any luck and in all probability if he got the chance of Watford or palace he will shake us off like dog crap on his shoe. Don’t give me this “get behind Brice it’s not his fault” and “he’s a symptom not the cause” duff. He is PART of the problem. He’s the badge and crest of it, the flag waving bit.

Reilly that was my scoop yesterday. I was walking past while they started rollering the wall. The photo is actually as far as they got before it rained. Funny I also wondered why they painted the wall instead of the peeling grey metal stanchions. My theory is it’s getting some kind of banner or crest or blurb on it later.

Will be good to get this lad in, need another quality attacking signing and a right full back as a bare minimum though. Then another CM with again another attacker if we feel like spending ?

I wouldn’t worry too much about this guys goal to game ratio, from his highlights he drags defenders and delivers balls into areas but we need to give him players to deliver to also

He’s in it for the money, if he admits it then fine I’ll get off his back. Can’t blame the man for taking a step up and getting paid more. However don’t you dare come in here and say it’s because it’s your local club. Don’t you ducking dare you absolute swine.

    Joelinton who? Really? Who cares.

Have to say I don’t know a whole lot about Joelinton.

Saw him play against Everton in the Europa League and he was a definite handful, he’s strong and quite quick.

It makes no huge difference who we sign to be fair, we must remain on message.
